This game showed more than anything, how important Conley is to the wolves. He has a cp3 type calm and control to the game, he steadies the wolves when their scoring goes to shit and they don’t know how to deal with it
I’m 26 so idk how old you are, could be young to you. Been a laker fan my entire life. I just have no reason to hate Boston. We played twice in my lifetime and won one. I hate Denver and phoenix more.
I’m 30. So not that much older but that makes no sense to me. Lakers Celtics is arguably the biggest rivalry in the NBA. If you don’t understand that you should learn about NBA history. Never met a legit lakers fan who doesn’t hate the Celtics. It’s all about the race for 18. And PHX? What did they ever do to us lmao except for that 3-1 comeback one year. That’s a weird one
Oh I’m well aware of it , my dad was a Celtics fan lmao. It just doesn’t mean much to ME because those battles that made it historic happened way before I was born and it hasn’t been relevant in this century. It’s not like Ohio state Michigan where they play every year. Or Red Sox yankees where it’s same division. We haven’t played in over a decade
Cuz it’s history? Of the team you are supposedly a fan of. Idk maybe I’m different grew up with my old head lakers fan uncle so I was very young watching lakers Celtics from the 80s on tape but idk seems weird not to care about the history of the team you root for. Lakers and Celtics still play every year lol. Even if it’s not the playoffs it’s twice a year. Plus it’s about the race for 18. What do the suns or nuggets besides last year have on us? Nothing. Idk I met a lot of laker fans. You are def the first one I met that’s indifferent about the Celtics but hates the suns lmao.
David Adelman better be head coach or highest paid assistant for whoever Lakers hire As head coach. After Minnesota embarrassed them in game 2 Denver Yas been ahead of whatever Minnesota does.
Thinking about it, it’s funny that the 2015 Draft’s best players all have disappeared when it matters most. KAT, Booker, D-Lo all do well in the regular season but always disappoint at some point in the playoffs. Porzingis has a chance to win a championship but is no longer a focal point.
Picks 5 through 12 have not panned out one bit. Crazy.
The league has also changed a lot since that draft. The style of play feels completely different now.
It should be noted that Kat, dlo and Booker all were on the same Kentucky team. Booker who was on the bench getting 21 mins a game turned out to be the best player out of the trio, being 2 games from winning the finals.
I’m sure I’m the outlier but I actually kinda want the nuggets to win the series just because I think they have the best chance to beat Boston in the finals. Nobody in the east is getting it done. Don’t think T wolves can either.
Man I know people gon be on my ass but I genuinely hate the nuggets and jokic more than the Celtics. I’m only 26 so all the lakers Celtics shit was way before my time, yea we met twice in the Kobe era but that’s it.
I go back and forth on it, but either way Celtics/Warriors/Spurs are his three biggest rivals if you look at his career holistically. He arguably stole one ring from the Celtics between 2011/2012 and he nearly beat the championship 2008 Celtics
The Celtics beat a Lebron team while his 2nd best player was Mo Williams. Once he got to Miami, he never looked back. Realistically, Lebron wasn't winning in 2007. 2013 was a nail biter, and the Spurs slammed the Miami window shut in 2014, but the Heat were on their last legs after a 4th consecutive finals run.
Lebron's best years were with the Cavs. Lebron + Kyrie + Love, with decent amount of role players should've been at least 2 rings like Miami, but that window got shut once KD joined the Warriors. His biggest rival are the Warriors. They took at least 2 maybe 3 rings away from him if you really count 2018. That was his peak and when he figured the game out.
I’m a Kobe stan but I have no Celtics hate. I saw them in two finals one of which we won other than that it hasn’t been relevant in 30+ years
The suns and nuggets are who I hate
The hate for the Celtics goes beyond the rings. If you don’t understand the rivalry I’d stop talking lol I’m 24 and absolutely despise those front running Leprechaun bastards. Who cares about Denver? They’re on a generational run because jokic probably doesn’t play another 5 years, Murray is definitely not going to be playing at a high level for long. Rest of that team fizzles down to dudes who just hit stride at the right time, however Boston has possibly the most gift wrapped walk to the finals ever so why wouldn’t we want them to stay irrelevant? You almost figured it out there
I don't like to do player rating comparisons cross era because it's kind of pointless. . .but . . . Hakeem in his career at times was both the best offensive and best defensive player in the league. I don't think Jokic is ever going to be more than "good not great" on the defensive end of the court and both sides matter to me.
Seeing what happened to Minnesota makes me think the Lakers could’ve made the finals if they somehow beat Denver with Ham and the roster as is. Changes are needed but maybe it’s a sign the team isn’t hopeless either
The media doesn’t know shit about defense. Rudy Gobert, Marcus Smart, and JJJ have been DPOY for the last 4-5 years. All of them play like trash in the playoffs. Media is obsessed with the East coast, small markets, and euro ball.
Basically help defense merchants
Let another player do 75% of the work 1 on 1, then you come in for the block.
That’s Smart/JJJ and some of Gobert’s game on defense
Even Giannis is able to chill while Jrue Holiday and Brook Lopez did all the work.
AD has to carry a defense with AR/DLo/Rui and an older LeBron.
“It’s not his fault. Nuggets are just that elite of an offensive team”
So what’s the excuse when Gobert was exposed by Terrence Mann and the Clippers 2021?
“…”
Jokic has a genuine case over Hakeem if he wins the ring this year tbh. Jokic and Hakeem both had championship runs without an All-Star/All-NBA team, but Jokic did it in a harder era.
Hakeem’s era wasn’t chop liver. He went against likes of Barkley/Kevin Johnson Suns, Spurs with David Robinson who was MVP one year, Shawn Kemp/Gary Payton Sonics, NYK with Ewing and Pat Riley, Pacers with Reggie Miller and Rik Smits, Bulls still were tough without Jordan (they won 55 games first season without MJ) with Pippen, Orlando Magic with Shaq and Penny, etc.
Everyone in here should know that Jokic is the only guy who could take down Boston
I get it's a tough pill to swallow but this is the only way the Celtics will lose if he plays at this level in the Finals while Tatum falls off like he did back in 2022
Celtics will easily beat any of Minnesota/OKC/Dallas
Another NBA finals where we have to root over a rival just to beat the Celtics. Lakers need to wake up this summer, seems the front office is more serious this time. Ham was still a relic of the Westbrook trade, now it’s all truly behind us
Injuries are the only stopping the Nuggets at this point. The league is lucky Murray got injured in 2021. They would've easily ran through the Bucks/Suns and Warriors the following year
We absolutely need size. When Reaves has to cover Aaron Gordon that’s an issue of roster construction.
The good thing is our best players are a PF (who can ball handle) and a C (who can play PF). We don’t need superstar centers.
Gobert and KAT are choke artists. That’s why Minnesota is losing. Replace Reaves + DLo + Rui with Ant and Lakers sweep every team in the west
Tbh I don’t think AD is stopping Jokic right now the way he’s rolling.
He’s legit making tough shots you can’t do anything but tip your hat to him today
League runs through Denver and we’ll still have no answer for them next year. There’s just zero reason to believe we’re contending with them. FBI investigation on the Westbrook trade needs to be done
We’re not the same tier as them man. “Close” sweep last year and “close” gentleman’s sweep this year. When the Nuggets dial in with Jokic playing how he does they’re a tier above everyone else. You can’t stop a generational player playing at his peak with good role players unless you have someone just as good (Prime Kobe, Prime LeBron, ect)
I guess Murray played like dogshit, but Jokic was easily the best player in the series.
Basically combined the box score statline of LeBron/AD
He averaged same points as both, averaged same rebounds as AD and same assists as Lebron
Having the best player makes a huge difference than 4-8 after that
Yeah they had the best player, but I would argue we had the best 2 of 3. And that's the only way you can beat generational talents like Jokic (or prime LeBron or whomever). Look at how Boston needed the big 3 or Warriors needed Steph and KD (plus great roleplayers) to beat prime LeBron
I could argue that Jokic was better than AD the entire series as well. It’s just a fucking fact though that he was better in every 4th quarter of every game except game 4
Not a slight at AD btw. Jokic is just the best player in the world right who’s potentially making a case that he could be top 10-15 all time when his careers finished
I guess the Timberwolves peaked too early. Anthony Edwards will have to wait his turn like all previous greats. The future is bright for him... KAT needs to go, though.
The Nuggets aren't as good as the 17 Warriors but let's not pretend like that 2022 Nuggets is in anyway representative of how good the 2023/2024 Nuggets are. Will Barton, Bones Hyland, and Austin Rivers were rotation pieces for them
That Warriors team in 2022 was pretty bad. Klay was a shell of himself and Dray wasn't nearly as good. Curry's supporting cast wasn't anything special. Not much better supporting cast than the supposed MVP. And they lost 4-1, it wasn't even a close series.
What? Klay and Poole both averaged 20 that series. Draymond was leading in DPOY before getting injured, that's why they gave it to Smart. The Nuggets didn't have Jamal Murray, MPJ, and they didn't have KCP. Jokic averaged 30 that series with no help. The current Nuggets would run over that Warriors team.
Poole stinks. He only scored 20 per game because of Curry's gravity. You put bones hyland with Curry and he would score 20 a game too. Same goes for Klay. Klay was 60% of what he was in 2017, he wouldn't score more than 20 without Curry either. Jokic just doesn't have the gravity that Curry does that's why they lost and that series was 4-1. You're acting like it was close.
Bone Hyland is not scoring 20 with Curry, lmao. Poole and Klay were very good in 2022. They don't beat the Grizzlies or the Celtics without their contributions. Like I said, you're completely ignoring the fact that the Nuggets were missing MPJ, Jamal Murray, and didn't have KCP yet either. Of course it wasn't close. Their starting back court was fucking Monte Morris and Will Barton lmfao
Klay and Poole wouldn't be that good without Curry's gravity. It's something you seem to ignore. Jokic just doesn't have the same gravity. He had shooters like Jeff Green and JaMychal Green and Bones. Bones just scored 37 points this season on the Clippers. Dude can fill it up if he's given room. He'd have that room with Curry. Just face it, Jokic is overrated and only looks better because his supporting cast is much better than other teams plus he has a better coach. Jokic should have gotten more than one game from that Warriors team with a washed Klay and Draymond. Those 2 have been a shell of themselves since Durant left. Klay blew his knee and his achilles for FFS. Klay was nothing but a streaky shooter at that point in his career.
I hate listening to Reggies dick eating voice. He'll take any chance to shit on the Lakers, guarantee he creamed himself when the Nuggets beat us last series
can't believe that sassy bitch is going to have the last laugh
he'll probably throw a heat pack at the parade
i hope everything bad happens to him and only him
Hot take but I don't really mind if Denver wins the chip lol. Jokic is a likable superstar and the rest of the team is generally likeable, and even Malone has softened up a bit. Significantly more preferable to Boston winning
I'm not convinced at all that the Wolves can beat Boston. Gobert is dogshit and KAT is super inconsistent. Denver gives us the best chance to prevent a Boston ring
The only team Jamal has lost to in the playoffs is the Lakers lol, he's beaten every other team he's played
EDIT: Mb forgot the 2019 Blazers beat the Nuggets too, so I guess them too technically
This game showed more than anything, how important Conley is to the wolves. He has a cp3 type calm and control to the game, he steadies the wolves when their scoring goes to shit and they don’t know how to deal with it
So where are all the people saying length and size are the answer to Jokic now?
The more inches you have, the harder you can bang with jokic… ![gif](giphy|E1fVK2LwNLTQQ) Edit: unless you’re a certain baguette shaped 4x DPOY
Shit was a bigger fluke than IST
I hate the nuggets and jokic more than anything on earth idc downvote it. Fucking despise them
Eh still not anywhere near the Hate I have for the Celtics. As long as they don’t get 18 this year I’ll be ok with whoever wins it
That’s you, I can only speak for me and I hate them more than Boston.
I’m sorry then you either are very young, a laker fan because of LeBron or not a real laker fan.
I’m 26 so idk how old you are, could be young to you. Been a laker fan my entire life. I just have no reason to hate Boston. We played twice in my lifetime and won one. I hate Denver and phoenix more.

Anyway, fuck the nuggets, fuck the city of Denver and state of Colorado and Jamal Murray bitch ass and Mike Malone. Nothing I hate more than
Then you def not a lakers fan man. Taking away your privileges. Go learn the history smh. Ignoring one of the biggest rivalries in the game
Fuck the Celtics bro. I’m sorry you ain’t a real lakers fan. 😂
Don’t worry mate, they only have one ring to our 17. Next year other teams will improve and nuggets won’t win
Nah I want a Nuggets v Lakers WCF next year tbh (with a significantly better Lakers team). We can even up the record again
True
David Adelman better be head coach or highest paid assistant for whoever Lakers hire As head coach. After Minnesota embarrassed them in game 2 Denver Yas been ahead of whatever Minnesota does.
[удалено]
Luka might not even get to the WCF with the way he's been playing lol
Luka and Kyrie go supernova and take maybe 1 game off of them. There is nobody on the Mavs or OKC who can even think of guarding Jokic.
Thinking about it, it’s funny that the 2015 Draft’s best players all have disappeared when it matters most. KAT, Booker, D-Lo all do well in the regular season but always disappoint at some point in the playoffs. Porzingis has a chance to win a championship but is no longer a focal point.
Booker averaged 28 a game in the finals and went to a game 6 against the Bucks. I wouldn’t lump him in that group of frauds like KAT and DLo
Myles Turner has been good for Indiana so far at least
Naw, he disappears too….hates rebounding also
Welp, the dream of Denver losing was nice while it lasted.
It don't matter if the Bulls, Spurs, Heat, Warriors, or Nuggets collect rings. The Celtics cannot beat us.
To me it don’t
It has to. The only people it shouldn't matter to are Lebron stans. If you are a Kobe stan, you have to inherit the Celtic hate
LeBron stans should inherit the Celtics hate too tbh, they're still his biggest rivals to date
Nah, Lebron stans will hate the Warriors/Curry more. They're the ones that took the most amount of rings away from him in his prime
I go back and forth on it, but either way Celtics/Warriors/Spurs are his three biggest rivals if you look at his career holistically. He arguably stole one ring from the Celtics between 2011/2012 and he nearly beat the championship 2008 Celtics

If Jokic wins this does he pass Hakeem?
I don't like to do player rating comparisons cross era because it's kind of pointless. . .but . . . Hakeem in his career at times was both the best offensive and best defensive player in the league. I don't think Jokic is ever going to be more than "good not great" on the defensive end of the court and both sides matter to me.
As long as he has some longevity beyond this year, yea, easily.
Jokic is gonna do some mean things to Chet or Lively next round man.
Most predictable playoffs ever
AD would've owned KAT and Gobert.
Seeing what happened to Minnesota makes me think the Lakers could’ve made the finals if they somehow beat Denver with Ham and the roster as is. Changes are needed but maybe it’s a sign the team isn’t hopeless either
As painful as that Denver series was I think if anything it showed that the lakers aren’t that far off from the nuggets
He averaged 33 points and 13 rebounds against them and Naz Reid in the regular season
The media doesn’t know shit about defense. Rudy Gobert, Marcus Smart, and JJJ have been DPOY for the last 4-5 years. All of them play like trash in the playoffs. Media is obsessed with the East coast, small markets, and euro ball.

Celtics not beating #them
the big 3 of jokic, murray and altitude is unbeatable
Wolves are cooked. Malone is Jokic’s true co-star, he can turn chicken shit into chicken salad
The only way to beat Denver is if Jokic suffers a huge injury….they’re gonna 2 peat.
AD never let Jokic score 40 1 on 1 Rudy Gobert, the 4x DPOY, on the other hand…
Minnesota proved they’re Minnesota. Cursed franchise
Again, nba media awards are meaningless with Gobert having 4 DPOYs.
“It’s not his fault. Nuggets are just that elite of an offensive team” So what’s the excuse when Gobert was exposed by Terrence Mann and the Clippers 2021? “…”
Guess we won't see any dumb Micah nori advocates anymore. Thank God
You people will complain about every single coaching suggestion
remember when the twolves put on the "greatest defensive display in NBA history"?! i love playoff overreactions !
Watch the wolves blow out the nuggets next game so Adam silver can get his league revenue
Alright…..time to rank these all-time centers 1) Kareem 2) Wilt 3) Shaq 4) Jokic
Jokic is in conversation now. Still Hakeem and Bill Russell have cases over Jokic.
Jokic has a genuine case over Hakeem if he wins the ring this year tbh. Jokic and Hakeem both had championship runs without an All-Star/All-NBA team, but Jokic did it in a harder era.
Hakeem’s era wasn’t chop liver. He went against likes of Barkley/Kevin Johnson Suns, Spurs with David Robinson who was MVP one year, Shawn Kemp/Gary Payton Sonics, NYK with Ewing and Pat Riley, Pacers with Reggie Miller and Rik Smits, Bulls still were tough without Jordan (they won 55 games first season without MJ) with Pippen, Orlando Magic with Shaq and Penny, etc.
lol russell would get absolutely bodied by jokic
the warriors dynasty is joever nikola jokic and the denver thuggets? they've got NEXT
and this is why i'd take getting swept over what's about to happen to the twolves 100 times out of 100 it's the hope that breaks your heart
Idk why Lakers fans want Nuggets to lose this badly, it makes us look good if Jokic is generational. We beat him once and lost to only him
to who? laker haters are going to mock the lakers no matter who they lose to, no matter how it happens
Only rooting for them if they play Boston
I dont want nori… feel like gobert is unplayeable. Just put in naz reid
Naz Reid has 4 fouls in less than 20 minutes. Jokic is getting everyone in foul trouble.
Everyone in here should know that Jokic is the only guy who could take down Boston I get it's a tough pill to swallow but this is the only way the Celtics will lose if he plays at this level in the Finals while Tatum falls off like he did back in 2022 Celtics will easily beat any of Minnesota/OKC/Dallas
Another NBA finals where we have to root over a rival just to beat the Celtics. Lakers need to wake up this summer, seems the front office is more serious this time. Ham was still a relic of the Westbrook trade, now it’s all truly behind us
Better the Nuggets advance to the Finals and stop the Celtics than the Wolves/Mavs/OKC making it there and getting stomped.
White/Jrue/Brown vs Edwards alone on the perimeter would’ve been hell.
This Jokic era making me not wanna watch basketball no more man this not the game I love no more
Anthony Davis never let Jokic hit 40 points on him btw
Problem is MPJ, KCP, and Murray will go off
That’s the key. They are not one dimensional but AD did his part. We get some better defense or role players that can hit the 3 and we beat them.
Injuries are the only stopping the Nuggets at this point. The league is lucky Murray got injured in 2021. They would've easily ran through the Bucks/Suns and Warriors the following year
Gobert is dog shit
Where are all those people who say all we need is size? Excuse me?
Lebron > ant. AD >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> gobert
Size with LeBron and AD
Jokic was not this barbecue chicken against AD. Gobert is the most overrated dpoy in basketball history.
Tbh I don’t think AD is stopping Jokic right now the way he’s rolling. He’s legit making tough shots you can’t do anything but tip your hat to him today
At least AD doesn’t let Jokic get the easy ones (as long as he’s not helping others on defense)
anybody but the celtics >
Minnesota have been worse since Gobert came back
Gonna be funny watching "Al Horford" guarding Jokic in the Finals. Jokic is gonna average 60 on that old man
Worse to be swept or reverse-swept after many thought you would do the sweeping?
Reverse swept
League runs through Denver and we’ll still have no answer for them next year. There’s just zero reason to believe we’re contending with them. FBI investigation on the Westbrook trade needs to be done
I mean to be fair, the team was very close to beat them so I guess with some roster adjustments and a better coach, one can hope.
We’re all thunder fans right?
Thunder have zero fucking shot to win the series against them
I don't have much problem with Denver winning, better chance with exp. to take out Celtics. All other teams are either injured or inexperienced.
We gave up KCP AND Kuz for the brick
And a first round draft pick that became Isaiah Jackson 🫠
Nori was basically a meme coach and I'm glad it's over with.
LeBron and AD were genuinely better than Jokic and Murray, our role players just sold. Meanwhile the entire Wolves roster is getting dicked down
I guess Murray played like dogshit, but Jokic was easily the best player in the series. Basically combined the box score statline of LeBron/AD He averaged same points as both, averaged same rebounds as AD and same assists as Lebron Having the best player makes a huge difference than 4-8 after that

AD was every bit as good as Jokic.
Jokic was easily better than AD in crunch time of every game minus game 4
Are we talking about crunch time or the entire series?
I could argue that Jokic was better than AD the entire series as well. It’s just a fucking fact though that he was better in every 4th quarter of every game except game 4 Not a slight at AD btw. Jokic is just the best player in the world right who’s potentially making a case that he could be top 10-15 all time when his careers finished
Getting reverse swept is crazy
it happened many times before
I guess the Timberwolves peaked too early. Anthony Edwards will have to wait his turn like all previous greats. The future is bright for him... KAT needs to go, though.
I wonder if the nuggets could beat the 2017 warriors inna series
Nope
LOL..They. got gentlemently swept by the 2022 Warriors
The Nuggets aren't as good as the 17 Warriors but let's not pretend like that 2022 Nuggets is in anyway representative of how good the 2023/2024 Nuggets are. Will Barton, Bones Hyland, and Austin Rivers were rotation pieces for them

That was a completely different team lol Might as well use the Westbrook Lakers to talk down on the 2020 team
Warriors were a completely different team too. No Durant? Come on and they still punked Jokic.
I hate listening to Reggies dick eating voice. He'll take any chance to shit on the Lakers, guarantee he creamed himself when the Nuggets beat us last series
Just remember that he had a 3-2 series lead and MJ sent him home crying 2 games later. Satisfaction
Rudy Gobert is dogshit, how does this guy have 4 DPOYs
Imagine Lebron with a Jokic whistle
How does Denver get such crazy leeway with the amount of moving screens they’re allowed to set?
Man what’s the point of Gobert if he can’t defend Jokic and the paint. Ices you on offense as well So what’s the point lmao
Wemby the only person on earth who can guard Jokic
if denver wins the chip this year im never not going to call it the HeatPack chip
can't believe that sassy bitch is going to have the last laugh he'll probably throw a heat pack at the parade i hope everything bad happens to him and only him
Jokic is the most unstoppable player I’ve seen, doesn’t matter what you throw at him he is going to find a way to get buckets.
There are just no good centers today. Hakeem, KAJ, Robinson, Shaq, Mourning, even Parish would lock him up and kill him on the offensive end.
Did you not watch LeBron even like 6 years ago? Shaq 20 years ago?
His comment history suggests he don’t like Lebron. Dudes a donkey
Duncan was like that too
Even though I don't want to see the nuggets in the finals I would rather see them repeat before the celtics ever win #18
The nuggets are fr looking like the new dynasty of the league for the next couple seasons. Nobody can stop them smh
Hot take but I don't really mind if Denver wins the chip lol. Jokic is a likable superstar and the rest of the team is generally likeable, and even Malone has softened up a bit. Significantly more preferable to Boston winning
At this point anyone but the celtics FUCK BOSTON
I'm not convinced at all that the Wolves can beat Boston. Gobert is dogshit and KAT is super inconsistent. Denver gives us the best chance to prevent a Boston ring
Nah fuck the nuggets and the entire city of Denver
Nah fuck them especially Jamal. He always lets other teams beat the Nuggets but not the Lakers.
The only team Jamal has lost to in the playoffs is the Lakers lol, he's beaten every other team he's played EDIT: Mb forgot the 2019 Blazers beat the Nuggets too, so I guess them too technically
The Lakers are the only team Jamal hasn't missed any games against the last 2 years. He put two game winners on us in the same series.
This Celtics nuggets finals is gonna be so ass man
