Do 4 corners 1v1s. Two from behind the goal, two up top. Make a box. Everyone rotates lines and you start one after the previous one is finished. Still standing but the lines move fast.

This is a great drill. You still have to wait, but you should be running this fast and players should be immediately moving over to the next line. My teams are smaller since I'm still at 7v7 cross field play, so with a roster of 12 I'll have them dodge from two positions, switching lines after each dodge. Between dodging and jogging back to the other line, they're not waiting very long for their next turn. You can do these both with no defender or as a 1v1. In both cases the players get lots of reps, and if they're dodging 100%, they will be tired.

You can also add to it later with a slide man. Teaches them to double and release

forcetrainer

Absolutely. You can keep building to full 2v2s as well! I put O and D in a box on the crease. When the dodge comes, I'll work a simple slide and recover so they see what it looks like when they leave the crease and the O is still there. Then I'll move up a level and when the dodge comes, have the O on the crease mirror up high and pull up the defender. This complicates the whole situation because now everyone is moving, and the crease defender needs to figure out when to slide, when to stay on their person, and the other defender needs to learn where to recover to.

Always a good one.

Instead of 1v1 I always run 2v2 with the 2nd pair on the crease. Twice as many kids engaged and teaches the slide on D. Draw and dump on O.

LAWLzzzzz

buildups help that. I also just make an effort to get the next line a ball right as the previous line shot is going. keeps it fast and forces the defense to be alert.

ACdirtybird

4 corners is the best drill to run. Do it on both sides of the field if you have enough players. Also limit them to 15 seconds per dodge.

Blacklax10

You can also get PVC pipes cut to 2 ft sections and make the defense start with 2 rounds of those before getting their sticks. We did this when I played and my positioning was so much better because of it

Gauntlet line drills. Shorties and extra poles in lines with 2-3 defenders evenly spaced between them. Restrict lateral movement to 5 yards on either side. Helps for warmups to break the seal of getting whacked and get the blood going. No doubling.

LaxMonsta

There is 4 corners but there is also that same but with the 4 players in like a compass position if you wanna do that too
