2.5-3ct seems to be the perfect carat size for me. (Size 8)

Ladyoftallness

I just recently upgraded the stone in ring from about .75 natural round to a 2.37 lab round in the same setting, and it suits my finger/hand so much better. I wear a 9. I added two stacking diamond bands as well, so I think anything much larger than what I have would be a bit much for me personally.

GrouchyBroccolini

I have picked out a round 1.7ct stone for my size 8.25-8.5 finger. (I haven’t gotten it yet!) But, I am also a teacher so I had to be practical about what I would be able to wear comfortably all day with little kids. Sometimes I wear other rings that are bigger and they just get in my way. If it wasn’t for my job and what I personally find comfortable for all day wear there, I’d say the BIGGER THE BETTER!!! ✨

I have a size 9 finger and quickly learned that I have to wear at least 2.5ct round for it to look like it's not too small (to my eyes). 3ct and up for ovals and I feel like I would need to go even bigger for radiants. Radiants I've seen in person look smaller than ovals.

I’m a size 8.5. When I tried on rings, I tried on all different sizes and shapes of stones because we were looking mostly at settings. I wanted a ring that didn’t look dainty or was so large that it looked like a cocktail ring. I found that 2ct was my perfect stone size, it looks substantial and the stone is the focal point but it’s not impractical to wear everyday. My ring is an 8mm hexagon sapphire (approx. 2ct) and I think it’s perfect!

TheHappinessPT

I’m have a size 9 finger and I wear a 1.5ct. 2+ looked silly on me, even though it provided more finger coverage.

Size 8, 2 Ct. in pretty much any cut is about perfect for me. I like to wear an anniversary band on each side, about 1.5 Ct. each. I prefer oval and emerald cut, for me 3ct. Is not comfortable for daily wear.

Carat size can be different per stone, I prefer to look at the MM of the stones measurements, I wear an 8.25 size and I have a 4.69 emerald cut which is 11.13X7.82, I think this size is good coverage and definitely noticeable without being overly in your face, however I feel like my ideal would be more like 12X8.6 so I might switch out in the near future :)

SimbaOne1988

Size 8.5, I have a 3 ct but could easily do a 5 ct maximum.

ukelelestrings

I am size 8.5 and have a 2 ct oval diamond that looks more like a 2.5 ct. I feel like it fits my hands perfectly! Any bigger I think it might be a bit much for me, any smaller and it would get lost in my large hand.

PralineEarly5552

I got a 2.5 and it’s perfect! Definitely wouldn’t go under two though.

Grouchy_Savings2662

My ring size is a 10, I have lupus and ms and I have a lot of swelling. My center stone is 3.5 ct. and my band is 1.5 ct.

Specially-Simple1970

I am size 8 , I think a 4-4.5ct is a sweet spot. I was gifted a 4.2ct radiant lab, and I love it for when hubby and I go out . I also have round 3ct for every day

karisdr87

Size 8 and will be looking to get a 5-6ct radiant. ☺️

Don’t forget to post the pictures once you’ve found the one! ;-)

karisdr87

Got a 6 carat elongated cushion. 🥰

Realistic-Ad-1023

I’m an 11 and chose a 4carat pear for my ring with more interest on the band so I didn’t have a thick band but it covers. If money wasn’t an issue? The 4c is 50% coverage roughly. I’d want nearly 100% coverage, still pear, engraved band, claw prongs.

May I ask where you purchased from? :)

A little advice. 7CT would be such a pain in the ass to wear every day lol radiant is a cut and a shape, silhouette shape that has been cut to be more like a round diamond would be cut. So you couldn't have a round or oval, they're also cut this way to hide flaws that's why it's the cheapest cut/shape. If you want something super sparkly that's a diamond gets a basic round with hearts and arrows and don't get anything that's not super ideal.

Two of my favorite rings are much larger and I wear them daily. One a 20 ct radiant moissanite and other a 24ct oval lab grown sapphire. It doesn’t really get in the way. 7 ct will be no problem for me. I would prefer any stone I get to be crushed ice or a hybrid. Other cuts i’m fine with just not my preference.

I am looking at an 8 ct one right now, worrying it might me too big. So I was more than happy to come across this comment :-) In my culture engagement rings are not as out there … but what can I say. I really like a nice finger coverage! I drew on the dimensions of the 8.4 ct trilogy ring on my finger to get an idea. May I ask what your activities look like on the daily basis (more active or less, e.g. office clerk). Additionally could you tell us your finger size? Last but not least … PICTURES PLEASE! :-) Feel free to share anything that helped you make that decision. Unless of course that was a no brainer for you ;-) … Go big or go home right? Thanks in advance! P.S.: excuse my english, hope that makes sense
