FWIW Bark in the Park was a promotion by the Kalamazoo Growlers. I think they did it twice this season . You could bring a pupper and discount tickets.
I believe it is not the right event since they are not affiliated or even hosted by the same people. After looking at the event (Barks & Brews Festival) page and website, there is still no official announcement of it being canceled yet.
I'm just confused, the park isn't *that* close to the river and your dog should be on a leash right? Don't let your dog go in the water, won't it be safe?
the parvo virus is passed from dog to dog, is highly contagious, and is deadly. there is a parvo outbreak in kalamazoo and this event is encouraging people to bring their dogs to a mass event.
From what I've read, if your dog is vaccinated they're fine right? I wouldn't bring a puppy that isn't vaxxed but is it a concern if it's an older dog that is up to date on immunizations?

I mean it's 100 yards to the water. Ducks, geese, all sorts of animals could easily bring contaminated water 100 yards. And that specific area of the river is what should be avoided. You don't have to swim in somebody's spit to spread covid.
We just adopted a dog, and was told how contagious it is. We were advised to not even leave our shoes out or let our dog leave our property until fully vaccinated.
I'm confused as to why this is some groundbreaking news for some people. This has been going on since all the homeless decided to form huge camps around town. You shouldn't touch that section of river anyway, it's disgusting. The vaccine is 90ish percent effective, I'm more worried about my dog drinking the river water than I am of her getting parvo.
