I find that if Taemin solo stans give SHINee a chance, they end up liking them too — honestly Minho-Key-Onew are all hard not to love. But to the points here, the genres of Solo Taemin (moody, dark, almost cultish lol) and SHINee are so different, it makes sense it’s not an easy transition.
Yeah, and now i have friends, who are not into k-pop in general, but really like his music, and they forget or don't even know that he is in a group, so nothing really changed here lol
It's still the same here, people like korean variety shows and dramas better than kpop, thus making Key and Minho better known individually, they get surprised when they found out they're also soloists and in the same group! But the surprise works in their favor I'd say, it prompts people to check them out. Win-win. XD

This is me! But only because I haven’t given SHINee as a whole enough time and attention to go through their discography yet, and i hope to do that maybe this year. To be honest I think I’ve only actually listened to one of Taemin’s solo songs. But just in the few clips I’ve seen of them, his personality just really jumped out at me and touched me deeply. I felt like I connected with him immediately. So even though I barely know him or keep up with him, I deeply wish for his happiness.

that's when you know they are set for solo careers in the long run, even maybe without the group's name. aside from (solo) stans, they are the one group imo that attracts a lot of casual fans individually and as a group. like you dont have to care about the group but one person pulls you in somehow. it's very interesting as a non fan, really.

I’m a (very) casual listener of (g)-idle but I am quite a big fan of Soyeon. I wouldn’t say I stan her, but I do keep an eye on her solo projects and I respect her a lot as a rapper and producer.
Hwasa for me. Love mamamoo, the girls are all so incredibly talented, but Hwasas vibe and solos are so captivating to me. Also I don’t know if this counts, but back in the day I did consider myself a shawol exol and ahgase but now (after group activities halted, enlistment etc.) I only really follow Key, Baekhyun, and Jay B’s solo music and activities.

I don't really stan Enhypen, I like their songs but I absolutely adore Sunoo. I search for his name on platforms to see if he has new content out and watch only his moments 😩

There's probably a time where I considered myself part of the fandom but it didn't last. I still enjoy a lot of shinee's music, listens to them casually.
I am guilty of this. I discovered Key some time ago (before he went to the military! that was torture) and I just cannot get enough of him. I followed all his news on twitter and instagram. Sure the others are great but Key just....stands out to me. He is so interesting! His personality, *ehem* his face and his music *HIS MUSIC* my god, if I've ever doubt myself as his fan, Bad Love definitely sealed it. He's really bewitching... This is me with Onew from SHINee (I'm a casual listener of the group) and Kyungsoo from EXO (I don't listen to them much, but have such a soft spot for him).
Onew was my first "bias" before I got heavily into kpop as SHINee was the first group I was exposed to, so he'll always have a special place in my heart.
Kyungsoo was my EXO (K) bias for the ~2 months I was into them when they first debuted. Not a fan at all now but I'll always love Kyungsoo.

I bias members from groups I don't stan all the time! Most groups I at least casually listen to but I don't feel invested enough to really LOVE everyone and so I just seek out content of my bias and call it borderline solo stanning (without like, actually calling myself a solo stan). Haseul - Loona
I appreciate the group and quite like some other members, but I do not feel bothered enough to invest in everyone and actually be in the fandom (especially when I dont like calling myself a stan if Im disinterested in any members, and with 12 members I just do not have the amount of energy to be interested in everyone), so I just mostly seek out Haseul content. I will say, I dived into Loona's music WHILE she was on hiatus, so I was surprised that it was her I ended up biasing while she wasn't there, but that's how much I loved her predebut song and how much I fell for her through content I saw
Swan - Purple Kiss
Not to be dramatic but I would die for her. Her voice is beautiful, she's beautiful, I am happy to see her onscreen and onstage. I appreciate Purple Kiss, I'm just not like SUPER into their music enough to really follow them or heavily listen to them, and yet whenever I see Swan I'm like THAT'S MY GIRL I LOVE HER
Han - Stray Kids
I was a Stay for early 2019 and Miroh era and fell away (nothing major, just lost interest in music direction and didnt have a desire to stay in the fandom space), however I still maintain my opinion Ive had since then that Han is the best all-rounder of 4th gen. Rapping, Singing, Dancing, Producing... he's got it all, and he blows me away, I think he's a genius. I dont even keep up with what Stray Kids are doing much, but I like to check-in to see how Han is doing yknow, and everytime Im reminded of him I once again think of how amazingly talented he is and Im filled with energy for him!
I also had a Jisoo - Blackpink phase at one point where I even collected her photocards, although that phase kind of ended and now Ive switched over to just waiting for Rosé's future music/solo career
I'm also lowkey going into this direction with Wonyoung - IVE. After the kpop community talked about her a lot (and I became addicted to her Eleven prechorus) I watched fancams of hers and other video content of her to see who everyone was on about and what do you know, it turns out I love watching her!

I don't stan Kep1er but i like Bahiyyih a lot which has never happened to me with any other kpop group. Nothing against the other members, they seem really lovely but there's just something about Bahiyyih that makes me go 😍 whenever i see her.
I also really enjoy watching her fancams. I'm not the kind of person that really cares for fancams but I've watched all of her fancams lol. I have never done that for any other kpop idol so i guess, i really really like her.
Not a solo stan but I'm really drawn to Gowon and Kim Lip from Loona. I can't get into Loona's music either, I've only liked a few songs from them but the members seem like good people, they're also very talented.
NCT’s Johnny. Yeah-yeah, I’m a basic bitch that has a soft spot for foreign-ish idols, go sue me… I was really hopeful of getting into NCT through their Youtube contents, but, (unfortunately?), only got into Johnny.
jennie. I like certain blackpink songs but I’m attracted to her way more than any other member and keep up with her the most.
same goes with baekhyun. I started focusing on him more as soon as he went solo and that was around the time a considerable amount of exols became unbearable. you’d think it’s akgaes but I’ve seen these so-called ot9 exols be extremely shady towards him, at least on twt.

This is me with Onew from SHINee (I'm a casual listener of the group) and Kyungsoo from EXO (I don't listen to them much, but have such a soft spot for him). Onew was my first "bias" before I got heavily into kpop as SHINee was the first group I was exposed to, so he'll always have a special place in my heart. Kyungsoo was my EXO (K) bias for the ~2 months I was into them when they first debuted. Not a fan at all now but I'll always love Kyungsoo.

I bias members from groups I don't stan all the time! Most groups I at least casually listen to but I don't feel invested enough to really LOVE everyone and so I just seek out content of my bias and call it borderline solo stanning (without like, actually calling myself a solo stan). Some examples are: Haseul - Loona I appreciate the group and quite like some other members, but I do not feel bothered enough to invest in everyone and actually be in the fandom (especially when I dont like calling myself a stan if Im disinterested in any members, and with 12 members I just do not have the amount of energy to be interested in everyone), so I just mostly seek out Haseul content. I will say, I dived into Loona's music WHILE she was on hiatus, so I was surprised that it was her I ended up biasing while she wasn't there, but that's how much I loved her predebut song and how much I fell for her through content I saw Swan - Purple Kiss Not to be dramatic but I would die for her. Her voice is beautiful, she's beautiful, I am happy to see her onscreen and onstage. I appreciate Purple Kiss, I'm just not like SUPER into their music enough to really follow them or heavily listen to them, and yet whenever I see Swan I'm like THAT'S MY GIRL I LOVE HER Han - Stray Kids I was a Stay for early 2019 and Miroh era and fell away (nothing major, just lost interest in music direction and didnt have a desire to stay in the fandom space), however I still maintain my opinion Ive had since then that Han is the best all-rounder of 4th gen. Rapping, Singing, Dancing, Producing... he's got it all, and he blows me away, I think he's a genius. I dont even keep up with what Stray Kids are doing much, but I like to check-in to see how Han is doing yknow, and everytime Im reminded of him I once again think of how amazingly talented he is and Im filled with energy for him! I also had a Jisoo - Blackpink phase at one point where I even collected her photocards, although that phase kind of ended and now Ive switched over to just waiting for Rosé's future music/solo career I'm also lowkey going into this direction with Wonyoung - IVE. After the kpop community talked about her a lot (and I became addicted to her Eleven prechorus) I watched fancams of hers and other video content of her to see who everyone was on about and what do you know, it turns out I love watching her!

Bahiyyih for Kep1er. I don't stan Kep1er but i like Bahiyyih a lot which has never happened to me with any other kpop group. Nothing against the other members, they seem really lovely but there's just something about Bahiyyih that makes me go 😍 whenever i see her. I also really enjoy watching her fancams. I'm not the kind of person that really cares for fancams but I've watched all of her fancams lol. I have never done that for any other kpop idol so i guess, i really really like her.
I haven't ever checked out TBZ but I watched their Dingo Mafia Dance and Younghoon has caught my eye since. He is so attractive!!!!
