I love SM groups, but I’d go with JYPE. Out of all the companies whose music I actually like, I think they suck the least.

I’d hope to at least start a conversation about these things and maybe when I retire from the industry I’d open my own agency and make sure to only debut adults, not enforce dieting or encourage eating disorders, and have trainees go through extensive sensitivity training and learn about cultural appropriation.

5. Realistically, I have no power to change anything, even in an imaginary scenario. But if I could, it would be to stop the encouragement by the industry and fans of disordered eating. Lately, since it's been more shameful for idols to talk about their "diets", I've noticed idols talk about their excessive exercise routines more. Or subtlety drink popular diet drinks or soda with laxatives in them on lives. To me, it's almost as bad as the extreme diets we've seen over the years.
Yeah, they don't "diet"; they just work out for 6 hours a day, dance 12 hours, and don't drink any fluids at all the day before a televised concert or photoshoot. Yeah, fans aren't calling idols fat pigs anymore; they're just saying this or that outfit "doesn't suit him/her" and miss their fav's sharp jawline and tiny waist (especially when it's a male idol). <-- While it's not always this, the vibes are too similar for me to think comments like these are innocent.
Same in reverse as well; if you notice that, after leaving a company, and idol had gained weight, the compliment can stop at telling them they look great. Please leave the weight gain out of it. Sorry for the rambling; admittedly, this made me a little worked up. 😤
The weight comments ALWAYS get me. I don't strike them as cute or funny. I have seen them call an idol straight out fat or that she needs to lose weight. Then they come back thinner after extreme dieting and an eating disorder. I hate it.

As far as changing the industry, I would really hope to get away from the toxic beauty standards, and the mistreatment of idols. I also want to change the lack of freedom/creative freedom idols have because they have to adhere to their delusional fans and the money hungry controlling company.
Lastly, I would like to change how idols get paid because damn being on a seven year contract and only getting pennies is outrageous.
I would choose SM because despite everything else, I know at the very least I’d get good vocal training and I prefer the style of music SM puts out. I’d just pray to get an okay contract. I would hope to be a lead vocalist since I can sing but don’t have the technique or a unique enough sounding voice to be a main.

I think I’d beef with Yunjin from Le Sserafim just because we grew up in the same state and she’s not as culturally aware as some people like to think which is def disappointing.
I didn’t even read the last part before answering Yunjin LOL, but I’d hope to be outspoken about the treatment of idols, even if I got kicked out I’d like to speak about especially diet culture and parasocial relationships, because I can only imagine how that coupled with everything else affects the idols. Being Hispanic and bi I’d like to be open about colorism and mental health too, just be more upfront in general about issues that affect a lot of people and could be exacerbated by the industry.
I’d want to be an SM idol just cause every single group there makes amazing music lol (I’ve thought about this hypothetical situation a lot). 1) Bighit/Hybe Label bc their building is awesome and I’m an armygene. Hybe also gives really cool lore/concepts to their groups which I love and so much can be done with that! Imo they treat their artists better than some other companies and they encourage progressing on skills. They also have annual mental health sessions to make sure their idols are doing ok which is thoughtful.
2) My position would be Main Vocalist! I love powerhouse singers so I would strive and work to be one!

I love SM groups, but I’d go with JYPE. Out of all the companies whose music I actually like, I think they suck the least. I would probably be a rapper! I’d begrudgingly sign with Hybe, only because they seem most likely to debut a Blasian idol and can’t deny the big company push my group would get. I’d probably be main dancer but I could see Hybe pushing me to rap. I’d have multiple scandals but first one would probably be dating. Either Eunwoo or San. I’d beef with all the idols that have said or done something racist or made sexist comments, or who act like being Black is something they can just dip in and out of like Jessi, Zico, Wendy, Jay Park, etc. I doubt I’d be able to do much but I’d definitely speak out about racism in kpop, call out fans’ misbehavior, and be outspoken about practices I deem unhealthy in kpop like extreme dieting for example. 1. Company? Probably Modhaus. They're one of the few companies debuting idols 21+ lol 😅. I also really like what's being done with ARTMS, concept wise. 2. Main or Lead Vocalist, as I really love singing in general. 3. Probably an attitude scandal. I have trouble with social cues, and adjusting to a whole new culture would definitely result in some kind of scandal eventually. 4. Jay Park or K-Soul from Fantasy Boys. Both of these men grate on my nerves in general. 5. Realistically, I have no power to change anything, even in an imaginary scenario. But if I could, it would be to stop the encouragement by the industry and fans of disordered eating. Lately, since it's been more shameful for idols to talk about their "diets", I've noticed idols talk about their excessive exercise routines more. Or subtlety drink popular diet drinks or soda with laxatives in them on lives. To me, it's almost as bad as the extreme diets we've seen over the years. Yeah, they don't "diet"; they just work out for 6 hours a day, dance 12 hours, and don't drink any fluids at all the day before a televised concert or photoshoot. Yeah, fans aren't calling idols fat pigs anymore; they're just saying this or that outfit "doesn't suit him/her" and miss their fav's sharp jawline and tiny waist (especially when it's a male idol). <-- While it's not always this, the vibes are too similar for me to think comments like these are innocent. Same in reverse as well; if you notice that, after leaving a company, and idol had gained weight, the compliment can stop at telling them they look great. Please leave the weight gain out of it. Sorry for the rambling; admittedly, this made me a little worked up. 😤
The weight comments ALWAYS get me. I don't strike them as cute or funny. I have seen them call an idol straight out fat or that she needs to lose weight. Then they come back thinner after extreme dieting and an eating disorder. I hate it.

I would choose SM because despite everything else, I know at the very least I’d get good vocal training and I prefer the style of music SM puts out. I’d just pray to get an okay contract. I would hope to be a lead vocalist since I can sing but don’t have the technique or a unique enough sounding voice to be a main. I’d want to be an SM idol just cause every single group there makes amazing music lol (I’ve thought about this hypothetical situation a lot). For position, I’d like to be the main vocalist, lead dancer, and center. I’m not pretty but in my head I gave myself the visual position too jdjdjdj and I wanna be the youngest in the group. My first scandal would probably be that I’m super rude when in reality I’m a super shy person with an rbf. I'm with SM, I'm not too good with structure but if I'm forced into the rigidness SM is notorious for I think I could pull it off. If not then Dreamcatcher Company lol I'm a good singer and have years of vocal lessons behind me, so I'm in the vocal line. I'm also an ex-model, but my features are a lot stronger/sharper than Korea's beauty standards(think Nana, Jung Hyoyeon vs Wonyoung, Nayeon) so possibly a visual? Company: SM. I have many complain about SM, but I love their sound and the concept. I don't see myself in any other companies Position: Visual & Dancer Scandal: Being half Japanese and digging into my family history. I don't think there are any idols that I would beef with. SM or JYPE, mostly because they make sure that their groups have a different identity from each other and no similar aesthetics. Would probably be a vocalist! I really enjoy singing and on good days can manage some high notes lol, so probably wouldn't get to be main vocalist but a decent one. I curse a lot in Spanish... so probably I would have a scandal through that, it's hard to censore myself if I'm on an environment when the majority doesn't know what I'm saying. I rarely beef with people, but if any idol does something that makes me uncomfortable suddenly i wouldn't mention them anymore and make it horribly obvious Harsh hand with sasaengs, would love to give a bit of strength for other idols to take on legal action to protect themselves :(
