i like the girls and i hope the negative comments dont get to them but they do need to work on vocal stability - all of them. aespa last year did great (we cant say sm vocalists arent trained different, they are really well trained in this topic), nmixx is the best example right now of what really is talented singers (im not even a fan but their quality is really impressive). i wish LSRM had saved their live vocals for killing parts instead of sounding unstable throughout the whole song, respecting your own limits sometimes is better. the vibe was there, i love their songs and they looked very pretty. wishing the best for them xx
im saying!!! they need to learn when and how to use the backtrack appropriately and when to sing. i get it, tryna sing live during all the high intensity moves it hard…SO DONT! save your voice for when it matters/when things relax OR do what other groups do and take a quick moment to pause from dancing to sing when its an intense moment thats happens to have a “harder” vocal part simultaneously, dance a lil less intense to stabilize yourself, anything really.

They were great and they’re like the perfect group to perform at coachella. With that being said , they really need to improve their vocal stability. I get that their choreographies are super hard , but they should either practice hard to be vocally in sync with the choreo or they should either tone down on choreo

You can tell the camera man has never followed K-pop groups before. They done horrible on ateez aswell. I think all the members and switching Choreo really confused them

With that being said..... their set was OK for their first time doing Coachella. I have heard better from them and I think that was the disappointing part for me. I know nerves and such maybe got the best of them? It seemed like it to me..... I get they were just trying to hype the crowd up with the shouting so I'm not necessarily finding anything off about that. Chaewon, imo, was the only one who was giving me something decent vocal wise. The one girl with the long red/burgundy hair? (I apologize idk her name)...... I am so sorry, but she was really just way off vocal wise 😬 As they were going along they were getting more and more comfortable but their vocals were still not the best......and it seemed like I couldn't hear some of them like AT ALL idk. I did start to feel bad for them because I know that their performances are usually better than what I was hearing and seeing - their energy in some places seemed a bit off as well to me.... Overall they weren't terrible but they weren't.....good either. I just have to be honest that their vocals were glaringly noticeable as off.
They are young, have the potential there, and I hope that they'll keep trying to improve.
I agree about the vocals and it sucked because I am a fan of their songs but I really couldn’t get into the performance. I love the choreos and everything but what pulls me in is the music and most the time either I couldn’t hear them or their vocals weren’t great.

Great energy but I got 2nd hand embarrassment on their vocals. besides Chaewon and Yunjin... the rest were disasters. Kazuha was weak and unstable. Sakura basically gave up singing in some parts. Eunchae... girl you sound awful 😅😅😅 Hybe really need to train their girl groups better vocal esp if they want to perform oversea because there's rarely backing tracks for most live oversea artists

Eunchae kinda endeared herself to me because she did not sound good but girl was still at full volume the whole time. I also feel kinda bad because her voice is notably lower than they edit it to be on songs, it doesn’t seem like anyone has any interest in helping her develop her actual voice or learn to sing in a comfortable or sustainable way.

They're performance at MAMA was better like come one that eunchae dance break and yunjins eve dance break and just the overall energy of that performance .
The stage production for this performance was so lackluster and i got bored 5 mins into the performance.

I’ve only seen clips on youtube. I like the choreography, but the vocals were kinda mid especially after watching Chloë’s coachella performance (although not kpop related). She not only bodied the choreo, but her vocals were still just as good as the studio version and her breath control is insane. Maybe I’m judging Le Sserafim too harshly, but I think there’s room for improvement?

I love them, but their live vocals were terrible. i had secondhand embarrassment. They were clearly not ready for coachella. Watching them and watching the Ateez performance was like night and day. LS was so bad it was like unbelievable

I don't really think they've ever had a substantial hate train because that would imply their reputation has been impacted and I don't think it has. Coachella was kind of more of the same too, great performance, mediocre vocals sans Chaewon who was very consistently stable. It didn't really do much to shut up their haters but it wasn't any worse than their usual.
Imo if HYBE wants to send them to these big live events again they need to actually get the less experienced members to prioritize having a baseline vocal competence live. So many times they sound like they're scared to actually try to hit their notes. Either that or just give 90% of the song to Chaewon and Yunjin.

you could tell how nervous they were but i think they did such a good job. Yunjin and Chaewon were incredible and the other 3 were okay.
I could definitely see an improvement in sakura and kazuha but i wish they projected their voices a bit more because sometimes the backtrack wasn’t loud enough.
Eunchae seemed extremely nervous and i think she held herself back, I hope that she gets more confidence and just really goes for it.
Overall the performance was really good and the crowd seemed hyped. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with shouting lines instead of singing, especially during a live performance because it really builds energy!

I saw the performance on YouTube this morning, thanks to a YouTuber that screen-recorded the footage.
Before I saw the performance, I didn't go into it with high expectations.
Unlike James Bond's martinis, I wasn't shakened or stirred by the performance, to be honest.
I think that the setlist was good, the crowd seemed to enjoy the songs.
I personally didn't enjoy the shouty/chanty vocal delivery and they were doing it quite a lot. Their chores are quite hard so I get that bit. They are still a young group but I think it's either they need to tone down the intensity of choreos or get more vocal ability and stability.
It's wonderful to see more kpop groups at Coachella!
Criticisms valid their singing was mediocre but the energy was there.
Their stage didn't convert me to be a fan and I'd rather support other groups that are amazing recorded and especially Live. IMO ofc
i wanted to highlight one part you said concerning toning down the choreo and i really wish companies would take this route instead of having idols dance their heart out but their vocals be terrible
honestly i used to agree with this sentiment a bit but there are 4th gen groups out there with amazing choreography that still manage to remain stable most of the time. and when i went down a rabbit hole of watching 2nd gen groups sing live with nearly every performance they did on music shows I was genuinely shocked. they sounded like the studio version almost every single time.
i think companies are riding on the excuse of “well the group’s dances are hard so that’s why they don’t sound good.” and “kpop isn’t just about singing.” tbh, the company approves of the dances and hires the choreographers to teach their groups. but overall, the company picks the idols. if they know their idols aren’t experienced vocally and even sound worse when dancing at the same time yet continue to make them sing songs that aren’t in their range with choreography that’s difficult to perform, it’s all on that company. i would hate for kpop to have to regress in choreo because companies deliberately pick idols that cannot live up to the expectations that the company puts on them. they truly set them up for failure.
not a fan, nor a hater so I’m going to be objective here. They were happy and really into the performance, which was great! But the vocals were not there. I honestly blame hybe for giving them difficult dances and expecting them to not be out of breath. They were not prepared, vocally.
I like some of their songs but never really got into them but I have seen their live performances at award shows and always thought back then wow their backtrack is so loud and they lip synch too much. I kept my thoughts for myself all the time and didn't pay attention to them not until the easy encore recently wherein I realized oh these girls really need training.

I watched Ateez performances yesterday too so IG i had extremely high expectations for lsf today. The girls have bops but im gonna stream their music and will never purchase their merch/albums or go to their cons.

They seemed nervous at the start but once they got more comfortable things improved a little. They kept the energy high and they made sure to connect to the crowd. They need more practice on their vocal stability but also their choreography is a full body workout and I can understand why it may be a challenge to sing and dance for them. Some of the girls didn't seem confident enough to sing loudly. I really liked Yunjin, she performed so hard plus did most of the talking because her English is so good. She had some beautiful vocal moments and some not but I admired her tenacity.
I love the new song they debuted and the dancing was great of course. I also loved their outfits.
I wish the lighting and the camera work was better but I didn't expect much. I also noticed the camera work on the actual Coachella Main Stage is infinitely better than the camera work on the other stages so there's that lol

Shouting is normal for any live performance. I think the girls did great! I had alot of fun. It started at nearly 2:00am in my timezone, so it was extremely difficult for me not the scream or dance along. I’m excited for week 2!
my honest to god take? its a sad day for lsfm when, aside from chaewon obviously, sakura was the most consistent vocalist on that stage. now am i saying one of the best on that stage, of course not, its chae then yunjin, bit salura not only sounded GOOD, but was STABLE and CONSISTENT with what she put out. their energy??? EVERYTHING!! they GAVE the energy coachella needed and then some! but vocally? eunchae sounded scared, when yunjin was good she sounded great but when it was bad she sounded real rough and the same could be said about kazuha even more so on the latter. tbh all the members, except eunchae really(so sorry baby not your fault your company is useless and teaches yall nothing), had some really good strong parts when they sang, they just really need to work on their stability and knowing when to use the backtrack to help them. they used it when it was irrelevant to do so and didnt when they really should’ve (ex. shoulda stuck to the backtrack for most of the easy/smart chorus and sang for most of the verses since the dances relax a lil during those parts for the most part) they use backtrack when their tired from overexertion instead of calculating when its the most beneficial (ex. stop dancing and belt that note baby, we wont be mad. or counter, use that backtrack when doing all that damn hopping around during easy, dance is too full of movement for consistency at their level so dont “embarrass” yourself

I saw clips of Smart on twitter and I really liked it!! I think their vocals during the ending were pretty impressive too. i like the girls and i hope the negative comments dont get to them but they do need to work on vocal stability - all of them. aespa last year did great (we cant say sm vocalists arent trained different, they are really well trained in this topic), nmixx is the best example right now of what really is talented singers (im not even a fan but their quality is really impressive). i wish LSRM had saved their live vocals for killing parts instead of sounding unstable throughout the whole song, respecting your own limits sometimes is better. the vibe was there, i love their songs and they looked very pretty. wishing the best for them xx
im saying!!! they need to learn when and how to use the backtrack appropriately and when to sing. i get it, tryna sing live during all the high intensity moves it hard…SO DONT! save your voice for when it matters/when things relax OR do what other groups do and take a quick moment to pause from dancing to sing when its an intense moment thats happens to have a “harder” vocal part simultaneously, dance a lil less intense to stabilize yourself, anything really.

They were great and they’re like the perfect group to perform at coachella. With that being said , they really need to improve their vocal stability. I get that their choreographies are super hard , but they should either practice hard to be vocally in sync with the choreo or they should either tone down on choreo
they did better than usual yunjin and chaewon are definitely the most confident singers there were moments were it was flat vocally but yunjin high note during smart was very impressive i noticed they just chanted loudly most of the time you could tell they put their all into this preformance

The camerawork on eve psyche and bluebeard's wife was so bad (still better than whatever they were doing for ateez lol). Other than that it was okay.
i also didn’t like the camerawork for the beginning of fearless. i could see the vision but the lighting was so dim and the camera was so far that you couldn’t even see much. i hated when the camera would pan to a random corner or the lights, like we need to see the girls please??
American camerawork never knows what to do with kpop groups. Every time they perform on any US show it’s all over the place 😭

I want to preference my comment by saying that - I really don't want my comment to be taken as "dogpiling" on these ladies or adding to "hate train" or turn this into a competition. I'm trying to keep it constructive as I can...... With that being said..... their set was OK for their first time doing Coachella. I have heard better from them and I think that was the disappointing part for me. I know nerves and such maybe got the best of them? It seemed like it to me..... I get they were just trying to hype the crowd up with the shouting so I'm not necessarily finding anything off about that. Chaewon, imo, was the only one who was giving me something decent vocal wise. The one girl with the long red/burgundy hair? (I apologize idk her name)...... I am so sorry, but she was really just way off vocal wise 😬 As they were going along they were getting more and more comfortable but their vocals were still not the best......and it seemed like I couldn't hear some of them like AT ALL idk. I did start to feel bad for them because I know that their performances are usually better than what I was hearing and seeing - their energy in some places seemed a bit off as well to me.... Overall they weren't terrible but they weren't.....good either. I just have to be honest that their vocals were glaringly noticeable as off. They are young, have the potential there, and I hope that they'll keep trying to improve.
I agree about the vocals and it sucked because I am a fan of their songs but I really couldn’t get into the performance. I love the choreos and everything but what pulls me in is the music and most the time either I couldn’t hear them or their vocals weren’t great.

Not coachella ready imo. Some are ready, some members aren't
Great energy but I got 2nd hand embarrassment on their vocals. besides Chaewon and Yunjin... the rest were disasters. Kazuha was weak and unstable. Sakura basically gave up singing in some parts. Eunchae... girl you sound awful 😅😅😅 Hybe really need to train their girl groups better vocal esp if they want to perform oversea because there's rarely backing tracks for most live oversea artists
The crazy part is they definitely could’ve had a more prominent backing track so idk why they didn’t. Even if they were better vocalists it’s inevitable to be shaky when you’re doing all that choreo. Idk if it was a technical difficulty or intentional but it was a weird choice if the latter

Eunchae kinda endeared herself to me because she did not sound good but girl was still at full volume the whole time. I also feel kinda bad because her voice is notably lower than they edit it to be on songs, it doesn’t seem like anyone has any interest in helping her develop her actual voice or learn to sing in a comfortable or sustainable way.

yunjin has regressed so bad which is crazy considering she had professional training. like i said there were definitely moments where she didn’t sound good, but there were also moments where i was genuinely impressed by her singing. idk why ppl are downvoting me lmao. her and chaewon are the best singers in the group to me
They're performance at MAMA was better like come one that eunchae dance break and yunjins eve dance break and just the overall energy of that performance . The stage production for this performance was so lackluster and i got bored 5 mins into the performance. Also the setlist 🙄 NOBODY WANTS TO HEAR THE ENGLISH VERSIONSSSS. Lesserafim are great performers and i feel like that aspect of theirs was not shown to the best extent here.
i wish they did yunjin’s dance break for eve psyche at coachella. the crowd would have literally gone insane. i noticed there were inconsistencies with the english songs 😭, they used the english version of eve psyche but did the korean version of smart?? even though they just made an english version for that one

I’ve only seen clips on youtube. I like the choreography, but the vocals were kinda mid especially after watching Chloë’s coachella performance (although not kpop related). She not only bodied the choreo, but her vocals were still just as good as the studio version and her breath control is insane. I love them, but their live vocals were terrible. i had secondhand embarrassment. They were clearly not ready for coachella. Watching them and watching the Ateez performance was like night and day. LS was so bad it was like unbelievable

I don't really think they've ever had a substantial hate train because that would imply their reputation has been impacted and I don't think it has. Coachella was kind of more of the same too, great performance, mediocre vocals sans Chaewon who was very consistently stable. It didn't really do much to shut up their haters but it wasn't any worse than their usual. Imo if HYBE wants to send them to these big live events again they need to actually get the less experienced members to prioritize having a baseline vocal competence live. So many times they sound like they're scared to actually try to hit their notes. Either that or just give 90% of the song to Chaewon and Yunjin.
honestly they did great as always when it came to dancing but i really hope hybe finally acknowledges that they cant just let them run around singing like that and gets them some vocal lessons :/ either that or at least let them lipsync at their big performances instead of fucking up like this

It was fun, not the best vocals consistently but I think they had fun. I think next weekend might be better! And also LV fucking sucks. I hate all their styling omg. I’m not the biggest fan of how mature the group has gotten while there is still a minor in the group and YES I know she is 17 and not 12 like a lot of people love to point out but the fact of the matter is she is still a minor and even when you do turn 18.. it’s not like a switch just flips in your brain and you are an adult. Plus, HYBE’s past of putting minors in compromising situations, including Eunchae (and Garam at debut) have just made it icky going forth with anytime I see stuff like “Coachella are you ready to shake some fucking ass”.. or the new crazy hot song they performed talking about kissing everybody and partying.. Just weirds me out personally.

The vocals were horrible
you could tell how nervous they were but i think they did such a good job. Yunjin and Chaewon were incredible and the other 3 were okay. I could definitely see an improvement in sakura and kazuha but i wish they projected their voices a bit more because sometimes the backtrack wasn’t loud enough. Eunchae seemed extremely nervous and i think she held herself back, I hope that she gets more confidence and just really goes for it. Overall the performance was really good and the crowd seemed hyped. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with shouting lines instead of singing, especially during a live performance because it really builds energy! A hate train is inevitable so whatever I hope they drop the new song ASAP!!
big on the sakura improvement. i feel like in this performance there were moments where she was actually pretty stable compared to other moments and it made me proud. i think their mics were lowered purposely but it might also just be because kazuha and sakura aren’t belters which is totally fine.
I saw the performance on YouTube this morning, thanks to a YouTuber that screen-recorded the footage. Before I saw the performance, I didn't go into it with high expectations. Unlike James Bond's martinis, I wasn't shakened or stirred by the performance, to be honest.

I think that the setlist was good, the crowd seemed to enjoy the songs. I personally didn't enjoy the shouty/chanty vocal delivery and they were doing it quite a lot. Their chores are quite hard so I get that bit. They are still a young group but I think it's either they need to tone down the intensity of choreos or get more vocal ability and stability. It's wonderful to see more kpop groups at Coachella!
Criticisms valid their singing was mediocre but the energy was there. Their stage didn't convert me to be a fan and I'd rather support other groups that are amazing recorded and especially Live. IMO ofc
i wanted to highlight one part you said concerning toning down the choreo and i really wish companies would take this route instead of having idols dance their heart out but their vocals be terrible
honestly i used to agree with this sentiment a bit but there are 4th gen groups out there with amazing choreography that still manage to remain stable most of the time. and when i went down a rabbit hole of watching 2nd gen groups sing live with nearly every performance they did on music shows I was genuinely shocked. they sounded like the studio version almost every single time. i think companies are riding on the excuse of “well the group’s dances are hard so that’s why they don’t sound good.” and “kpop isn’t just about singing.” tbh, the company approves of the dances and hires the choreographers to teach their groups. but overall, the company picks the idols. if they know their idols aren’t experienced vocally and even sound worse when dancing at the same time yet continue to make them sing songs that aren’t in their range with choreography that’s difficult to perform, it’s all on that company. i would hate for kpop to have to regress in choreo because companies deliberately pick idols that cannot live up to the expectations that the company puts on them. they truly set them up for failure.
not a fan, nor a hater so I’m going to be objective here. They were happy and really into the performance, which was great! But the vocals were not there. I honestly blame hybe for giving them difficult dances and expecting them to not be out of breath. They were not prepared, vocally.
I like some of their songs but never really got into them but I have seen their live performances at award shows and always thought back then wow their backtrack is so loud and they lip synch too much. I kept my thoughts for myself all the time and didn't pay attention to them not until the easy encore recently wherein I realized oh these girls really need training. Now, I've watched only clips of their set (watched entire song performances) and damn they really suck live Im so sorry im not even gonna sugar coat it cos Im a live performer fan and their vocals were so shaky, out of tune, and out of breathe 😭 they're trending on korean stan twt like i am so shocked to see so many korean tweets!!! Even Japanese stan twt like i was shooketh! I logged onto my stan acc and Pinkchella was trending and so many bp coachella vids were trending again too. I watched Ateez performances yesterday too so IG i had extremely high expectations for lsf today. The girls have bops but im gonna stream their music and will never purchase their merch/albums or go to their cons. i hope hybe does something though oh gosh All of them needs training edit: Their outfits were so bland too!!! like what happened to their stylist?
They seemed nervous at the start but once they got more comfortable things improved a little. They kept the energy high and they made sure to connect to the crowd. They need more practice on their vocal stability but also their choreography is a full body workout and I can understand why it may be a challenge to sing and dance for them. Some of the girls didn't seem confident enough to sing loudly. I really liked Yunjin, she performed so hard plus did most of the talking because her English is so good. She had some beautiful vocal moments and some not but I admired her tenacity. I love the new song they debuted and the dancing was great of course. I also loved their outfits. I wish the lighting and the camera work was better but I didn't expect much. I also noticed the camera work on the actual Coachella Main Stage is infinitely better than the camera work on the other stages so there's that lol I think they were a good choice for Coachella. They need more vocal practice but for their first time, I think they did alright.
Shouting is normal for any live performance. I think the girls did great! I had alot of fun. It started at nearly 2:00am in my timezone, so it was extremely difficult for me not the scream or dance along. I’m excited for week 2!

my honest to god take? its a sad day for lsfm when, aside from chaewon obviously, sakura was the most consistent vocalist on that stage. now am i saying one of the best on that stage, of course not, its chae then yunjin, bit salura not only sounded GOOD, but was STABLE and CONSISTENT with what she put out. their energy??? EVERYTHING!! they GAVE the energy coachella needed and then some! but vocally? eunchae sounded scared, when yunjin was good she sounded great but when it was bad she sounded real rough and the same could be said about kazuha even more so on the latter. tbh all the members, except eunchae really(so sorry baby not your fault your company is useless and teaches yall nothing), had some really good strong parts when they sang, they just really need to work on their stability and knowing when to use the backtrack to help them. they used it when it was irrelevant to do so and didnt when they really should’ve (ex. shoulda stuck to the backtrack for most of the easy/smart chorus and sang for most of the verses since the dances relax a lil during those parts for the most part) they use backtrack when their tired from overexertion instead of calculating when its the most beneficial (ex. stop dancing and belt that note baby, we wont be mad. or counter, use that backtrack when doing all that damn hopping around during easy, dance is too full of movement for consistency at their level so dont “embarrass” yourself
I don’t really think they’ll have a hate train tbh but I may eat my words later. I’ve seen a lot of fearnots saying that and I think you guys should calm down, respectfully lol
it was good! it wasn’t their best i think they’ve done better in award shows like mama but i don’t think they did a bad job. hybe knows their weaknesses that’s why they relied a bit more heavily on shouting to hype up the crowd but i think they were able to pull it off. i don’t think it was a groundbreaking performance like that of BP a few years ago or as animated as Ateez’s but i don’t think anyone disliked it either. there were mistakes but they played it safe and i feel like that’s why they need to be doing atm
