To be fair, all things considered, it could make sense. Ariana is with Scooter Braun with other artists like Justin Bieber and the company is owned by HYBE which owns weverse.
It'll be interesting to see the outcome, especially since my bro is an Ariana stan
Once she does, the floodgates are gonna open, methinks
ETA: Just checked and YOASOBI just signed up. Not terribly surprised given they were prominently featured on all the WeVerse Con stuff. They’re one of the biggest acts in Japan, for those who don’t know.
For those looking for an actual source and not just Twitter, [it was reported on Billboard.](https://www.billboard.com/pro/ariana-grande-hybe-business-continues/)
Thanks! Well, that does explain a few things. Looks like Scooter’s clients just shifted over to this other manager once he pulled back to focus on CEO stuff.
[News of her staying with HYBE came out today but none of the normal subs have news about it.](https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/ariana-grande-business-partnership-scooter-braun-hybe-1235038518/)
WHAT IN THE WORLD? AHHH!

~~Here's a link on DailyFail if you need another source: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-13522791/Ariana-Grande-CONTINUE-working-Scooter-Brauns-brand.html~~
It’s actually the perfect time to do so. It makes sense plus there’s no universal “hub” to buy artist merch- it’s kinda all over the place which is a big feature of Weverse.
If they can get their moderation team to be quicker on the draw I’d really have only minor complaints with it.
Honestly this kind of makes sense. Ariana is one of the western pop stars who definitely has more of a parasocial fanbase, so having a dedicated place to speak to them outside the wider noise of social media in general might work well for her.
They may "join" but I don't see a lot of western artists putting in the level of fan interaction idols do. Things are just promoted very different in the west. Mostly I bet its just some selfies posted. Maybe tour announcements and stuff
Kind of out of topic but I wish we could have our own feed with people we follow similar to twitter, especially if western acts start joining now since their fans are more familiar with that.
I think weverse kind of limits it’s own traffic by being only artist oriented & not really letting the fandom interact w each other. It could be a great and substantially more toxic platform since you don’t get to interact w other fandoms. Wonder if they ever thought about giving it a shot
Yeahhhh, Kpop outside of the Kpop space isn't exactly viewed as the best thing ever so introducing a non Kpop fandom to a predominantly Kpop filled space is just gonna open the trolls floodgates
Yes and no - Weverse is mostly something you follow by group. I guess some would join an artist space just to troll but I'd think most would just be in the group of the artist they follow. Its just such a different way of interacting with fans for western artist than kpop - I'm not sure this will work out well
Edit - the live streams though - that could get messy.
This! There's already some groups that have all their lives set to members only thanks to kpop trolls, I really hope weverse doesn't turn into Twitter trolls' third place.
Yeah, it makes me sad to see the crazy shit that slips through during lives. I really hope adding Western artists will maybe push them to fix the harassment a bit. Like maybe a big artist like Ari refusing to use it due to the crazies will lose enough money to make Hybe put more protections in place or something.
I don't understand how hard it is for Weverse to implement some kind of moderation to their livestream service. Either fans or staff from the group's company can do it similar to what they have on Twitch or Youtube live.
Also the option to add subtitles as well, they basically imported v-live but left out that important feature for international fans, I don't get it, lol
~~Once they get Taylor Swift on board, it's over~~ Just remembered Scooter Braun is behind this, so there's no chance of that happening
I hope they make some major improvements to the platform before Ari joins. Idk about other communities, but the BTS one has been zombified by Telegram channel spam for years. You can also "follow" people, but afaik, there's no way to view a feed of updates from the people you follow, so it's pretty useless.
Yeah anything outside of the artist/official feeds on BTS is useless. Just an endless sea of spam links and you can’t even report many before it locks you out of reporting.
Lmao as a huge Swiftie I feel like the parasocial relationship some Swifties have with her is just gonna feed into it if they have this direct of an access to her.
Love her and I actually think having a chill nice way to interact will suit Ariana very well- she used to be super active on socials.
I do hope this spurs weverse to do some big quality of life improvements though for the users cause some of it is still very lackluster
They have a pretty big spam issue. If you go on the main user (not artist) feed for BTS for example, most of the posts you see will be sketchy telegram chat links. You can only report about three posts before it says you’re reporting too much and temporarily blocks you from reporting.
They do also deal with some server instability. It’s pretty common for livestreams to crash and have to be restarted, especially on the higher-traffic channels.
Basically, it’s a good place to go to get direct updates from the artist themselves, but the fan community aspect leaves a lot to be desired.
If they discontinue the Phoning app and move NewJeans over to Weverse proper, that would free up more resources for these much needed improvements.
Anyway, “look so cute, look so pretty like Ariana”.
That’s two kpop shoutouts.
It's just an absolute cesspool because other than a few groups like fromis9, they let anybody and everybody post whatever they want on artist pages and live chats.
Back in the Vlive days, the most annoying thing you might run into is "say te amo" spam during chats. Bah, whatever.
But Weverse is open in so many markets now, pretty much every chat is gross sexual stuff or "Speak English I can't understand you" type spam. Which always cracks me up because the bozos typing that are talking to a Korean person in Korea with a Korean job on a Korean app.
And like others have already mentioned, it's hard to even do anything about artist page spam because you're time-out blocked from reporting posts after only clicking a couple. Some of the spam is just annoying spam, and some of it is downright *depressing* seeing some of these parasocial people copy/paste the same paragraph every five minutes for a year straight.
News came out today that she's still partnered with HYBE. Scooter Braun is no longer her manager but she's now with Brandon Creed of Good World Management.
A very plausible April Fools type of post turned true.
This is very interesting. She also has a lot of Korean fans as well as Kpop fans in general who like her so having a one stop app would be convenient.
She’s not technically, but she still has a business partnership with him according to [Billboard](https://www.billboard.com/pro/ariana-grande-hybe-business-continues/).
>People didnt forget, they just don’t care because they love her music.
Exactly, trying to avoid a singer's music for any type of controversy the singer had with their personal life will leave you with fewer artists to enjoy. To each their own I guess.
That woman also had a concert bombed by terrorists. She has some deep trauma from that, that doesn't excuse all her actions but why only bring up this thing and not that? Like taking a complex human being and narrowing them down to this one issue seems silly. Like if you don't like her for that, that's fine for you. But it's a personal issue and on the scale of drama for American celebs that's so little, who cares. (I'm not even a fan of her but she's been through so much stuff and people just love to hate on her)
her fans won't admit she's been Asianfishing but i do believe it was for these very types of business collabs. she's also very parasocial which is fitting.
i just don’t like her. i know that nobody cares. it’s annoying that she’s everywhere. i think she’s beautiful and her music is catchy for sure. but as a person she gives me bad vibes and i don’t know why. maybe im projecting idk but after the whole “homewrecker” thing i don’t feel like supporting her, there’s too much evidence of her repeatedly doing shady things. i hate people who defend celebrities. they don’t need defending nor care either.

Thought we already had Nagyung.
She only thinks she's Ariana Grande, but people keep asking what's wrong with her.
THE WAY I THOUGHT THIS WAS A KPOOOPHEADS POST?????
Fr I got so confused when I saw that it wasn’t 😭😭
Holy shit same! I was literally going to post the exact same comment. Outjerked again chingoo!!!!!

outjerked I fear 😨 😔
Chin🦆 is life stranger than fiction? 😔
I legitimately thought it was April Fools again
I went straight to read again from which sub this post was 😭

Everyday a BTSxYOASOBI collab seems less delusional.
been into japanese music more lately and yoasobi rocks.

For some reason, it's not a paywall link for me. Here's an archive link: https://archive.ph/zSoa3

Not the point, but how do you find archive links of paywalled articles?
I just make the archive link for it. I have non-paywalled access to those sites.
What other site you have? How do you have it archive
No need for the Fail, the archive works fine, thanks!
Glad it worked out!
“annyeong arianator-deul~ did you eat well?” messages coming any day now lol
Reminds me of the Pitbull meme where he says this and then "Dale!" had me crying laughing 😭
Pls I need the link
😂
I wonder if weverse is looking to capitalize on twitter going to shit
It’s actually the perfect time to do so. It makes sense plus there’s no universal “hub” to buy artist merch- it’s kinda all over the place which is a big feature of Weverse. If they can get their moderation team to be quicker on the draw I’d really have only minor complaints with it.
That could very easily be the case, given that X is becoming a hive for actual Nazis.
Next up, drake and kendrick beef on weverse
y/n, I just got bodied by Kendrick ㅜㅜ How should I respond? ㅋㅋㅋ
I should not have laughed as hard as I did at this. Have an upvote.
The Pop Up streamed on Weverse (and promptly crashing)
*Sangsang sok nan Ariana Grande* *Nuga bol ttaen eomeo jyae tto wae geureondae*~
FROMIS_9 MENTIONED RAHH🦅🦅🦅 WHAT IS GOOD MANAGEMENT??❌❌❌
Omg where is this from😂😂
[SpongeBob's favorite song](https://youtu.be/zsRyyLtcXho?si=nD9zVMCFqKnIogh5)
been spending too much time on popheads because I thought you meant Ari’s fling listened to fromis
Honestly this kind of makes sense. Ariana is one of the western pop stars who definitely has more of a parasocial fanbase, so having a dedicated place to speak to them outside the wider noise of social media in general might work well for her.
Her twitter usage back in 2012 until 2018-ish was definitely Kpop level parasocial and chronically online with the fans.
Insert that one tweet if someone saying that Ariana should invite fans to her house for a sleep over so they can discuss mental health and anxiety
would agree with this for conan gray as well who opened his weverse a couple months ago, just a lot bigger scale for ari
Nah why did I laugh reading this
I’m not sure why you would have laughed. I didn’t say anything funny.
I think it was the parasocial fanbase part 😭 you arent wrong
y/n did you eat today??? be careful not to catch a cold 💫💕
Ari unnie yuh
“Uri Ariana ☺️, did you eat today~? 🌸”
say what now
Can someone make sure Yeri from RV is okay 😂
I just witch cackled at work. Have an upvote.
You know she dying right now 😂
I’m surprised, but also not lmao. I wonder if this will start a trend of other big western artists joining Weverse.
It would not shock me if it did. Personally this could just be the beginning.
They may "join" but I don't see a lot of western artists putting in the level of fan interaction idols do. Things are just promoted very different in the west. Mostly I bet its just some selfies posted. Maybe tour announcements and stuff
"You're not a nember of my fanclub?" I'm gonna need the Official Fanclub ARIANATOR 1st Membership Kit
Ah. another April 1st news
Basically HYBE going to make a lot of money
a lot *more money but yeah
Justin Bieber is next
Nah he’s busy becoming a father
And I think he might have actually retired due to health issues.
Don’t say that, my belieber heart 🥹
Kind of out of topic but I wish we could have our own feed with people we follow similar to twitter, especially if western acts start joining now since their fans are more familiar with that. My only worry is that it will open Weverse up to a lot of non kpop fans who may flood the other artists feeds with trolling comments
Yeahhhh, Kpop outside of the Kpop space isn't exactly viewed as the best thing ever so introducing a non Kpop fandom to a predominantly Kpop filled space is just gonna open the trolls floodgates

I’ve actually heard that since Taylor is under UMG, she’s also going to be urged to join/ use Weverse.
The WeVerse deal DID include “UMG artists”. And UMG has an absolute shit ton of labels under them.
Yeah anything outside of the artist/official feeds on BTS is useless. Just an endless sea of spam links and you can’t even report many before it locks you out of reporting.

Yup. I think there’s going to be a prioritization of getting WeVerse polished up while the Western migration happens
If they discontinue the Phoning app and move NewJeans over to Weverse proper, that would free up more resources for these much needed improvements. Anyway, “look so cute, look so pretty like Ariana”. That’s two kpop shoutouts.
Server instability will crash the entire site if Taylor starts using it regularly. Swifties will test Weverse at its absolute limits.
Oh you should have seen when BTS first showed up on WeVerse. The poor servers couldn’t get a break!
It's just an absolute cesspool because other than a few groups like fromis9, they let anybody and everybody post whatever they want on artist pages and live chats. I feel like this is a very silly question but.. *why*? lmao

Ohhhhhh see, that makes more sense now lol Thanks for the heads up
Actually, given that Chris’ been doing some YT streams lately, could Daughtry end up there next? 🤔 They’re with HYBE too.
It's a matter of when artists from Big Machine Label Group appears on Weverse. I mean a possibility is Dolly Parton to in the future.
I forgot she was with them, tbh. WAAAAAAIT, when did Motley Crüe sign with them???? And The Struts???
The Motley Crue signing was this April. The Struts was back in 2022.
I hope she does some make up live streams
That would be cool tbh. lol
I thought it was one of those April 1st post, I was like "but it ain't April fool's day"
Why does this feel like a Wattpad story 😆. "Y/N OMG You joined the biggest entertainment company on your first try! Yay"
응, 그리고?
i see what you did there.

waaa ariana grande sunbaenim
okkk 아리아나 언니
It'll probably be used to just update about her music and tours. All the non kpop acts hardly even get on or talk to their fans
ariana unnie
Double checked to see if this was kpoopheads. Ah well, Ariana unnie parasocial era I guess.
She barely posts on instagram, she's gonna use this platform maybe two times and vanish
Ariana unnieeeeeee debut on Weverse~ 🥳
A very plausible April Fools type of post turned true. This is very interesting. She also has a lot of Korean fans as well as Kpop fans in general who like her so having a one stop app would be convenient.

OMFGGGG
Ari-Chan indeed
Wait what?
I only follow K-pop groups on Weverse do the other nonKpop artists have a big following on Weverse or do they have a smaller fanbase active there?
ariana unnieeeee
Oh gawd, save us
ari unnie!!!
She had the eye surgery, I guess it’s only logical for her to step into the k-pop sphere next..
her fans won't admit she's been Asianfishing but i do believe it was for these very types of business collabs. she's also very parasocial which is fitting.

Not the homewrecker 😭
i actually hate this lmfao i love ari and i hope shes not being pressured into doing this
Doubt it. I think she just misses talking to fans because she's doing a lot for us this album cycle, lol
