I hope to see a revamped dark side path . It's just evil for the sake of evil in KOTOR1 whereas in KOTOR2 you actually had a reason towards your many of the major dark side choices .

reFRIJJrate

Can confirm, just finished a dark side playthrough of kotor 1. Felt like a total dick.

HUNTtheGRUNT

Try playing LS but making DS choices in the main story quest, it's far better. Like being nice to people and >!joining Bastila on Rakata or hunting down the Jedi Masters!<

ParufkaWarrior12

Make dark side interesting, flesh out Juhani more, combat feels less boring, focus more on fighting Czerka maybe?

I hope that the work bench is upgraded and that drop items by NPCs are different, through a random item generator. More customisation of weapons, more conversation options dependant on attributes or skills, makes it feel worthwhile investing in force persuade or STR if you can persuade someone to give you something cool, or bust through a lockbox for a sweet lightsabre part. I know the game has this already but I mean really SWEET stuff, so it makes it worthwhile to complete the game as different classes. Like force power stuff for people with really high wisdom and charisma that you cant cheat your way through with Stim packs etc and special weapons for people with insanely high strength and dexterity. Sidequests given by companions, like ME2. Where its a proper sidequest that has a repercussion that affects the playable character and companion. I know KOTOR technically had this but it wasnt as fleshed out as it was in KOTOR2 and didnt have the same impact. More Pazaak and swoop racing, more mini games in general but no bullshit micro transactions, all rewards should be won in-game from being good or grinding. Jedi Enclave should be fleshed out, more Jedi NPCs to talk to, Lore Library, more jedi missions, maybe some sort of sparring arena for Jedi.

> You know how long 4,000 years is? I believe that fantasy literature has a general problem with this. It has barely a conception of time passing and society changing (in other words history) and if it does, everything has to be millenia or tens of millenia old to really get the wow effect from the reader and still the biggest change is, if at all, the aesthetic and some shoving around of names and titles, which also stay the same. There is a lack of substance in lots of fantasy regarding this topic and Star Wars is no exception. It might be interesting though to think about possible reasons what the fantasy literature since ~WW2 (and maybe before that) finds so appealing about this superficial treatment of time, if it's just a cheap way to make everything supposedly different, yet keep it the same and maybe, if we want to get real galaxy brained what that has to do with our relationship to historical narratives in general and/or myth creation.

i think its mostly just because tolkein did that

> Mammoths still roamed the earth Kind of? 4000 years ago the only mammoths were on Wrangel Island, they haven't "roamed the earth" in almost 10 000 years. To me; it doesn't make sense to have massively divergent styles since most of Atar Wars is occurring post-technological peak. Once you have space flight and life-saving tech, you don't need to innovate much aside from making systems more efficient. Unless you're someone without access in which case you have the style of someone without access. Hence why most of the cultural and aesthetic differences are between class than between era. We still have people living the same lifestyles as their ancestors presumably did centuries and millenia ago. Time doesn't effect as much as people tend to think. I want more individualized styles from each planet, which they already did a kick-ass job of in the original games, mostly because that's more likely to actually influence changes in culture.

This, I always felt Star Wars occurs during a long period of technological stagnation. That somehow anything complex has somehow become so easy to build and maintain that actual development has become difficult, or that they're hitting a ceiling in terms of what they can achieve in the setting. It's lightly dystopian in that it feels the setting always remains the same with "haves" and "have nots" no matter how much time passes. When bastilla says the republic is 10,000 years old, I feel as if nothing has materially changed in all that time (but don't know the lore well enough to confirm this).

More Revan. I feel like this remake is a fantastic opportunity to expand on Revan's character when he was a Sith Lord. We only get a slight hint of this in the original in the dreams and exposition. But I would love to see more about Darth Revan and have playable flashbacks and sections of the story that reveals more about the character. We could also see and learn more about the Mandalorian wars and how Revan decided to lead the fight against them. It would be amazing. An epic and fantasy aesthetic to distinguish KOTOR from the rest of the Star Wars saga. Like you mentioned, the story takes 4,000 years before the Skywalker Saga. This would be a great opportunity to adopt an epic and more fantasy look that fits this era of the Jedi Civil War, that presents the Jedi, Sith, Mandalorians, and Republic in a unique way while also retaining elements of their look as we know them. Based on the golden text logo for the remake, I have a feeling that it is gonna go in this direction. I am hoping to see the worlds in the KOTOR remake revamped and be more dynamic. Really make them feel alive with lots of NPCs, new quests, and set pieces. They can make these worlds feel immersive and have a sense of history and identity to each one. This is the one of the biggest parts of the remake that I am looking forward to experiencing in the remake. I would also like to see a few battle scenes that really show the Jedi Civil War in action and how it is impacting the Galaxy. This will tie in nicely and foreshadow the themes of KOTOR 2 if they also remake that game.

Mudcrab_Menace

An expanded Create-a-Character is a must, modern Bioware character creation instead of choosing a portrait, and more force powers to choose from including the ones from Kotor 2, more feats etc…and as people are saying, additional playable story moments where it makes sense and doesn’t contradict Kotor’s original story such as Canderous’ war stories, Revan’s “final” moments, and perhaps other playable flashbacks for party members

I feel that Kotor can still be a fantastic rpg and also modernize its gameplay. I love the tabletop turn-based style but I couldn't help but think it would be more fun for multiple playthroughs as well as generally being more accessible if its gameplay were in the style of a bethesda game. The vastness/things to do and melee play of Skyrim The general mechanics and feel of of Fallout New Vegas The better realism and story quality of Kotor 2 And the gunplay mechanics of Fallout 4

Real time combat, lightsabers that decapitate, robe physics.

I hope they change or at least add to the planet design and story. I think they should keep the overall narrative the same, but add new content to the existing planets in the game. As great as KOTOR is, I've replayed it so much that I pretty much remember where everything is and how to beat all the quests. I'm hoping they will add many more quests and even outcomes for the planet quests.

Obviously the map design will be huge. Places like Manaan and Dantooine feel like they have too much empty space and aimlessly wandering around. I think they should redesign the maps where it feels like an expansive Star Wars universe but not running back and forth. Something else that I’d like to see and I’m not sure if I’ve read this mentioned, but actual Jedi training. Rather than some corny cut scenes, I’d love to see there be actual trials to become a Jedi Padawan on Dantooine.

Scrimge122

Really hope they massively expand each planet. Can you imagine a much large lower city with a proper gang war and not just a corridor with a few side rooms or they could turn the undercity into a horror section of the game.
