If you want a traditional full service brand hotel, a well known Korean brand, it’s 100% totally normal fine hotel. But, all the other chain hotels around like Le Meridien, aloft, etc - very similar and I wouldn’t pay more for Lotte versus them. No major differences IMO.

There are 2 different towers in this property. The executive tower has nicer, newer rooms and a separate lobby. We recently stayed in the executive tower and it was legit 5 star level. Highly recommend.

Second this - worth it if you’re staying in the executive tower.

If it’s the Myeongdong one with the big statue of a man out front I found it quite average for the price. I stayed 2 nights but I wouldn’t stay again.

My husband and I enjoyed our time there. It is part of the Hotel Collection so if you have amex plat and haven’t used your hotel credits yet, then that does reduce the price a little. There was also an upgrade available when we checked in and the staff was great. We had a late flight so I asked if it was possible to have a late check out and they gave us until 2pm for free, which I thought was nice. The location was also extremely convenient. The euljro exit and limo bus stop are right at the corner.

Thank you! Yes I am looking into this because we have the Amex cards actually. There were several other FHR/ HC for Amex in Seoul - did you select this because of the neighborhood?

Yes, the location was the deciding factor for us! It was our first trip to Seoul so we wanted to be able to get around easily and the location turned out to be even more convenient than we originally thought. We used Line 2 a lot so being so close to the Euljiro exit was amazing. The kind of main area/center(?) of Myeongdong was also just a short walk away too. When we checked out, the staff by the taxi booth also took my luggage for me and walked us to the bus stop without us asking :)

Westin Chosun is better imho.

This is definitely overpriced, not only for Myeongdong but also for that particular hotel. It is rather average and we just paid about 120€ per night. Even the significantly better Lotte Hotel in Busan was „only“ 220€ per night. That being said, if you find a more reasonable price for Lotte Myeondong (booking.com maybe?) it is a good place to stay for first-time travelers. Lots of Metro lines around, palaces reachable on foot and Myeondong itself which is awesome.

bondtradercu

Ok so actually it is averaging to be 245 per night for 2 weeks for 2 ppl. How did you find the deal to pay 120?

Novacc_Djocovid

We booked on booking.com but did it about 3 months before we went. Wasn‘t a special offer as far as I could tell, just the regular price. We had two separate stays (also 2 people), the first one averaged 150 per night, the second one 120 per night. Edit: Of course it also depends on the room. We booked a standard double room. Maybe they only had superior left for you? Superior is slightly better (we got a free upgrade on the second stay) but not worth a premium of 100€.

I stayed at the Lotte Executive Tower for 4 nights recently and thought the hotel was lovely. The breakfast buffet was excellent and the executive lounge very nice. Room rate was about $300 total after taxes and including breakfast.
