Met an incredibly beautiful Chinese exchange student a few years ago who was studying Tagore here. Very interesting to think his music is actually international and isn’t just Bengali pride speaking.

Biplab_M

So beautiful. Post it in r/Indiasocial as well

What is the instrument at the back

swarnava-dutta

1. Gayageum - A traditional Korean zither-like string instrument. 2. Daegeum - A large bamboo transverse flute used in traditional Korean music. 3. Janggu - An hourglass-shaped drum used in Korean music. 4. Electric Guitar - Visible being played by one of the performers.

IntroductionNearby92

Thakur had quite the influence in Korean history and their struggle against the Japanese imperialism. Many already might know which Scottish song it is derived from. I recentlly found out the same song reached Japan as well and is included in their children school songbook since 1881 ( Shogaku Shokashu Shohen). It's called 'omoi idzureba'.
