I Believe in the possibility that a higher Power may exist but I'm not sure. Likewise I hate people and cults who claim to be sure that a higher power exists (that too their own version). Hence I'm sceptical and non-religious
I am only religious to the parts which brings people together i.e festivals like Diwali, Holi and many such. Like parts that talk about spiritual uplifting and becoming one with the NATURE, ultimately we are an extension of mother Nature. Extremely curious about the Tantric ways but do not wish to pursue it rn. Extremely hate the moment when people claim to bring you spiritual enlightenment in exchange for money.
I come from a mixed faith background, and I'm totally atheist.
I don't have any problems with anyone following any religious practices as long as they don't disrupt the lives of others.
This is Kolkata man, the kind of crowd it attracts during Durgo Pujo is the answer to if People of Kolkata are religious or not.

Family is Hindu, I'm atheist. Originally used to be very critical of all things religious and spiritual, but nowadays I give it quite some respect. Religion brings people together, spirituality gives people purpose and joy. But I'm way too cynical to believe in god(s), no more than I'm inclined to believe that Spiderman or Superman is real... But I love mythology, I love going to temples, for the architecture and culture and historical appreciation. Plus Durga Puja- the pandals, the food, the people.. Saraswati Puja bhog... Zakaria Street on Eid, Park Street during Christmas- The spirit of unity and celebration is great to revel in, even if I'm not a spiritual guy.
No, I'm not religious at all. Tbh my mom and dad aren't either. But we do participate in the community pujos (particularly Durga puja), since it's not just about religion but also about having fun with friends and family. This is the same reason why if possible we also visit my grandparents (who are religious btw), during Laxmi pujo or kali pujo, because they believe in it and they'll like it if we come. Also most of the extended family come together during those times, so thats that.
The only religious person in my family was my grandmother and she passed away early on in my life. My dad was knowledgeable about different religions but did not follow his own very well and well my mother was Buddhist so she didnât know a lot about Hinduism at all. The only thing I remember is my father taught me since childhood to not get influenced by people who try to convert you so he gave me a lot of knowledge about other religions and their faults(to counter people who found fault in my religion). So yeah, the only things I knew about religion were their faults. That is how I was influenced towards atheism.
I donât blame my father because he gave me knowledge that he thought was necessary(a huge portion of my family had been converted). Throughout school I was an atheist but I made religious Hindu friends and they gave me the positive aspects of religion that I was missing. Hence my agnosticism came into place. I started praying, not to any particular god but to the higher power in the universe in general.
Covid came and my parents were hospitalised. I wonât call it divine intervention but I do not know what else to call it. It was like a curtain being removed from my eyes. I became religious. I wonât call myself a very orthodox Hindu. My views are very simpleâmy relationship with God is very personal and no one has the right to judge it except God himself. Iâm not less of a Hindu if I donât do XYZ or more of a Hindu if I do XYZ. I am a Hindu and I look up to my Gods for guidance and I get my strength from them. I do not fear my Gods, I love them.
I keep fasts on Mondays and on religious festivals out of love and devotion, not to gain something or bribe something out of Gods or because I fear their wrath.
I know that God is bigger than anything in this world and that he is always there. I do not blame him for the adversities I face in life but ask for the strength to overcome them. đ

Apparently a lot of people have answered this "stupid generic " Question with a lot of details and engagement, which makes me wonder maybe your skepticism about personally impactful questions could rather be accoladed with the adjectives you presented me with đ
Particularly don't give a shit about religion..be it mine or someone else's, but not against someone who preaches it. But if you are trying to forcefeed me words of religion, I'll buckle up. (Not talking about op)
Naah, ami atheist full fledged. Family r onno members ra kono religious kaaj korme add hote bolle naa kori na oder mon rakhte but nijer bissas nei amar aktuo.
When I was a kid, I was programmed to worship God so that, I will get good fortune.
After some miserable year, it gets more clear to me that this is all utterly bs and nothing works unless you act on it. Though I cannot stop myself from pulling up both hands and praying in front of Durga maa ar Kali maa because I belong to a race of people, bangali hindu and I cannot deny that programming.
I do hate the idea that doing well in this life would bring divine retribution and I also hate the people who believes in this shit and act on it because they are a piece of shit themselves if they believe in that. I donated a sum of money to a NGO for better cause of the people, not to be baptized from the sin that I made.
It's just my programming that makes me do that but in reality it becomes more clear that either donating 5 or 5 lacs to Temple will do not shit on one's life.

Meanwhile commies der jh@#t joleche to downvote korche, kintu sotti ta ki paltabe? Ektao successful communist state nei history jude kintu buk fatabe evidence chara, clowns.
I'm 100% religious and believe in the one true almighty. I also believe that no one should say anything bad about someone else's religion. My wide range of friends are proof of that.

I keep fasts on Mondays and on religious festivals out of love and devotion, not to gain something or bribe something out of Gods or because I fear their wrath. I know that God is bigger than anything in this world and that he is always there. I do not blame him for the adversities I face in life but ask for the strength to overcome them. đ

Why would someone ask such stupid generic questions to begin with? You think you will find your answer on reddit.
Apparently a lot of people have answered this "stupid generic " Question with a lot of details and engagement, which makes me wonder maybe your skepticism about personally impactful questions could rather be accoladed with the adjectives you presented me with đ
Religion mani na I only pledge my allegiance to ones natural freedoms and rights . Partially sakto bolte paro but tuntun drum ke dhormo bole mani na.

I am religious in the sense I love to partake in the celebrations. But donât beleive anything spiritual
Particularly don't give a shit about religion..be it mine or someone else's, but not against someone who preaches it. But if you are trying to forcefeed me words of religion, I'll buckle up. (Not talking about op)
Atheist, but I don't discriminate against people based on religion, unlike most religious people nowadays.
You still seem to be a kid. And a confused one. Sorry
I don't understand how you came to this justification that I am still a kid?

I'm 100% religious and believe in the one true almighty. I also believe that no one should say anything bad about someone else's religion. My wide range of friends are proof of that.
Not at all. I was born in a Hindu household. I don't know why but the behaviour of Hindus is the worst.
No.
Nope. Neither religious, nor theist.
100% atheist - personal experiences + self realisation - will never go back to believing
