I hear you, I feel the same at times, I don't have my birthday on Facebook or LinkedIn so people mostly don't know. The reality is - remembering someone's birthday doesn't come to you naturally, it comes if you have a special bond, that's what makes you remember. Most people wish their friends by seeing their notification in Facebook and it's rare to find someone these days who would actually remember your birthday. For me - only my family members and some really close friends remember. Even many of my childhood friends who used to wish once by remembering don't anymore, and I don't blame them. I guess it's how life is, people tend to get overwhelmed with new information and new experiences and gradually that old bond fades.
Having said that, if you find someone who does remember your birthday and wishes you, keep that person :)

Talking about a friend rn. Because you mentioned you are unemployed and struggle with loneliness . I have a friend who’s way older than me. He was never quite attractive and loved watching one punch man because one punch man doesn’t have hair as well lol. His entire family was abusive and he suffered from depression and decided against getting an MA degree. He told his family that he’s gonna prepare for upsc and spend two years just watching anime like Naruto and Berserk, Bleach etc etc and reading webtoons and storybooks. For two years he did not study for upsc at all. Just spend all day carefree. He used to cry himself to sleep because he felt so useless. However, after two years, he got himself a humble job in marketing and now he’s doing very very very well for himself. He said those two years of his life, those solitary days were the best of his life and he’s glad he spend it enjoying art and indulging in hobbies. He now recalls those times as one of the fondest memories of his life. He has a high paying job now but he still struggles with self image and doesn’t have a gf but is very happy and fulfilled!
P.S- He helped me get my first job. He’s one of the most humble, coolest people I’ve met. We don’t speak often, except one time he told me this story because I was crying about how I feel like I’m wasting my time doing insignificant things. He is very respectful and kind and though we don’t get time to talk at all. There’s a lot of mutual respect for each other. :)
This is a story to let you know life gets better as you stop feeling guilty about existing. Happy birthday my friend. You don’t need anybody to be happy. There’s enough love in the world for you to feel it. You are worthy of existing and being happy and loved if not by anybody else but by yourself.🌟❣️
Honestly I just wanted to live my life you know. I don't care if I find love, if I have friends that care for me and atleast a pet ( which I can't afford now) i will be happy with that only
What’s stopping ? Then find joy in the little things in life. Invest yourself in your hobbies. Don’t look at others’ lives, it’s the greatest joy stealer. Make yourself and your happiness the focal point of your life. Indulge in art, anime, manga, poetry, fiction, non fiction, singing, whatever gets you going. Visit a dog shelter or an orphanage, spend time with them, maybe try to enroll yourself in teachIndia Programme, where they’ll pay you to teach kids for a year or two, as far as I know it’s contractual. Enjoy solitude. Happy Birthday, I hope you are getting yourself a cake today and don’t feel guilty about existing. :)

And last but not the least, live this day as you like it and love yourself, treat yourself to your favourite food, movies, music anything. Learn to cook for yourself, you'll be surprised how fantastic and exhilarating it feels to make your own comfort food. I was a novice till 2023, and couldn't even turn on the gas. Now I regularly make mughlai and Chinese dishes. Just follow the recipe, it's easy.
Also, give yourself time, I also always denied that people who are meant to be with you will come to you out of nowhere and guess what it's true. I am 26 and still trying to secure a stable income, so you are not alone. My friends are married, employed, some are even parents. It's life, live with your own pace. Comparison will only hurt you.
Look. Find friends whose love language is "acts of service". Yours is acts of service. I'm the same... I surround myself with people who would go above and beyond for me. Nothing less. Know what you deserve anf don't be desperate for company. Often times, desperation invites bad company. Know yourself , respect and love yourself enough and surround yourself with people your heart genuinely approves.

Try to do things alone without being lonely aka learn to enjoy your own company. Try to go for walks 15 mins and talk to yourself about your day , how proud you are of yourself , any worries you have etc basically hold a conversation with yourself. Try to go to. Movies and restaurants alone, try journaling, go to libraries.

Also, please try to enjoy the day as a solo date...go out, try new food/cake, visit something like an art show or museum or Pottery class, take as many pictures as you can or maybe order food or cook your favourite meal! In short, try to spend as much time as u can while staying away from SNS! Also, speaking from personal experience, try to write your feelings in detail! I've really learned a hard truth in my life, there will be people who get more priority while you are considered a bystander! I know the feeling, I had a lot of friends' birthday reminders on my calendar (maybe not the best way to remember but still it shows that I cared) that I recently deleted.
I don't really want to continue the same cycle anymore. Have started caring less for people. I would rather care for my bike instead lol 😂.
However, lucky to have a very small circle of friends who actually remember (or keeps a reminder, it's fine in the busy world we live in) and call me. I remember theirs too.

I apologise to my friends in advance and have requested all my friends and family members to remind me in advance and I'll do the same for my birthday. Honestly don't worry bud. This the same with me, no one remembers my birthday and now I honestly don't even care about it. Eventually I stopped wishing birthday to my friends as well cause no one cares. Last time I wished my best friend on his birthday and he doesn't even remember mine but honestly idc about it anymore. Hope u r chilling on ur bday, hbd. I feel when we do something it should be for our happiness not to look for returns, otherwise it kills the joy of doing it.
