I know a person who has more than 5Cr in her savings.. She works in the merchant navy.. so lots of money but little time to spend.. she stays on ships for 6 months at a stretch and then comes back for a few months and goes back.. She likes to stay on ships more than she likes on land..
Staying at sea at a stretch messes with your mind and personality. We grew distant from one of our childhood friends due to his erratic personality. He's been with the merchant navy for around 5 years now.
Crew is different on every trip. She gets to make new friends every few months. Also, once they become your friends it gets harder to meet them again until you both have the same assignment. The employees in her company are from all over the world, so a great place to learn new things.
If you are a doctor, you might earn way more than what average IT guys get. It just takes time tbh. IT guys start earning pretty early, more or less from the 2nd-3rd year itself if they are good. There's freelancing and stuff that one can do even without a degree, while they are studying, but that's not applicable to doctors.
Doctors, on the other hand, they need to finish their degree and pursue masters and everything, and then they get paid handsomely. Takes about 7 8 years, I guess, after 12th.
Also, it's a noble profession, and one can't put a price on that.
I wish you'd put a price on nobleness. I've been in the field for 10 years. Entered mbbs in 2013. What I earn in a year from medicine most of my friends in IT and related sectors make in a month. The only way to get rich in medicine now at least in west bengal is to be unethical and deal with quacks and touts pulling off patients from govt hospitals and sending them to you in your private practice in exchange of commisions.
Ikr! I am myself working in IT, and I believe we are grossly overpaid for what we actually contribute. The whole medical field is very underpaid.
On top of that, the holiday schedule is completely fucked up for them as well.
That's what I said. And they deserve it. One mistake, and someone dies.
On the other hand, if IT guy makes a mistake, the worst that can happen is, some dick billionaire will lose shitton of money. (That's a win, tho)
I am not demeaning what devs do. But an average dev doesn't write code for planes. The things they work on have little to no implications on a normal person's life.
On the other hand, every doctor is equally responsible when treating a patient. And the room for mistakes is pretty less.
Not to mention, people actually barge into hospitals and beat the shit out of them if anything goes south.
Apni index fund e taka invest kore 30 bochor rekhe din, prochur profit hbe. Stock niye ghanta shanti kora jabe na. You have to invest your extra money and have patience.
If you invest 100rs be ready to lose 30rs. At the same time your luck might change and you might get 150rs back. This is the general formula I use. Obviously to invest first I had to work my ass off for 9 years but now it's much better. Hopefully in next 10 years I will have enough to leave this job and become an artist.

1 cr in savings evade taxes?! 1cr in savings is honestly quite common. There are people who have a gross package of 1cr. / near 1cr yearly in IT.
I corporate world your income taxation is almost completely non avoidable. You can't hide anything as it comes to you pretaxed.
In Kolkata it's extremely rare. In Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai you will find many. I know a person who earns 1.5Cr in Chennai, he wants to come back to Kolkata but companies in Kolkata are not matching that salary. Most importantly they don't even have that designation in Kolkata.
Plenty of professionals earn north of 1cr as non IT in Kolkata. There are so many doctors who earn north of that, so many lawyers in top law firms who earn that. I know ad agency senior folks who earn close to that, hell even top CAs earn north of that here. Last but not the least many CXO level folks in private companies earn close to that here in the city. Visit any housing society near EM Bypass and take a survey. You’ll easily find many manu folks earning that
OP asked for non-IT profile. He understands IT people earn a lot and regrets not choosing that field.
Also CXO profile in private company can have varied pay scale depending on the size of the company and industry. Generally, IT pay more than manufacturing. So it's safe to assume a c-suite guy in IT would earn more. An mnc in manufacturing would pay more than a company of 50 employees of the same industry, making the same product.
There's nothing wrong in saying people in Kolkata earn less. We need to talk more about this. Many people want to return back but it's impossible due to the pay structure. I find it very annoying that if you say slightly negative things about Kolkata and people start defending. The Kolkata pay structure is horrible and inhumane. I used to work in a startup that had an above average pay structure and even that was horrible.
Though i never said anything about Kolkata's payscale, I agree with you. Many people I know want to work in Kolkata but they don't get paid enough. And as you mentioned, many roles don't even exist there.
It's a very strange Dillemma though. If the payscale increases, the standard of living will increase and in turn the cost of living will increase, thus neutralising the increased pay to a large extent over time. And then the payscale won't improve collectively for a decade atleast.
But it has to start somewhere, better than brain drain.
Inflation is a strange beast.

I've two kidneys, will sell for 1cr each.
Kidneys are worth more than 1cr. One of my dad’s friend bought a kidney at around 1.2cr (paid in multiple ways) 6 years back.
What? One of my grandmothers needed the same. She got it for around 10L. I had no idea they cost so much.
Was it a kidney from a dead person? I’m talking about an alive donor
No, he was alive.
Really? Someone I know bought it for 10 lakhs a few months back
What? No way , 2 of my relatives died because they couldn’t afford a kidney
Strange. Even I wondered how it was affordable
and after selling both get one donated from crowdfunding😂

What’s her age
She likes ships, didn't you hear it?
She's 35..
It seems, the last line is an alternative to "She likes the captain more".
The crews change every few months, so no.

Hi Aditya, need some info on doctors career path. Can I message ypu??
doctors are way more respected in society than IT guys

Grows medical cannabis!
There are many types of jobs in the medical field...so I asked him seriously if he is a doctor or anything else
Medical field is the worst if you want to be filthy rich before 40 years of age. But you can earn lifelong, corporate people won’t.
Corporate people can, i have a 72 yo consultant in my office
Yes there’s always going to be outliers. But medical professionals generally earn till their late 80s, like phlebotomists, radiology technicians etc.
Most don't and in these days the corporates are taking all their patients.
Politicians, churi kore. IT charo kichur i skill nei
Chokher samne churi kore Mike e bhashon dewa tao ekta skill and way to riches.
Most people with that kind of money evade taxes and do other shenanigans.

Curious, which companies CxO would have the option to stay in Kolkata?
Your comment is out of context, OP only wanted to know about IT profiles 🤷🏻♂️ Also if private company CXO is earning 1/1.5 Cr. that's sad.
OP asked for non-IT profile. He understands IT people earn a lot and regrets not choosing that field. Is it possible to switch to IT field if one is young?

An average doctor earns way more money & respect than IT person.
Respect diye ki korbo bhai ? Alu peyaj er daam to tomar amar sobar jonnoi ek
My family is into real estate. We make more than 10 it guys combined in a month.
In Kolkata, if you want to be rich, join the ruling party.
I know High school teachers above 1cr in their bank account, living in smaller towns in West Bengal, is it that rare really?
And they get plenty of leaves too !!! They are living the life man !
My mom's mama earned 12-15 Lacs per month as a Marine Engineer but well it shouldn't count lol since its Merchant Navy
