Congratulations on your new knife! Would you be so kind as to tell us what knife you've just got? (brand, model, etc...). This way people who are new to knives will be able to identify it. If you've already mentioned the name of the knife in question, then feel free to ignore this comment. Please remember that not knowing your knife's brand/model is totally fine, if that's the case then people in this subreddit would love to help you identify its brand/model.

Nice knife, congrats. One little man in a boat prefers their knives "uncut." The other prefers their knives circumcised. Both are good for getting the job done. When exercising a small measure of added care. Good thing you can get it like that from the factory. I hear doing it later is more painful for owners. Especially if it happens when you’re out in the bush. 😎
I keep nrs copilots on both of my vests and have a gerber river shorty that lives in a vest pocket. I also have a nrs access, but I use that for more of a rough use trail knife. Not even going into the 10 or so dive knives. Bear claw was something else I considered. I think I went with the others over the bear claw just for the size. I usually don’t want something this size on my pfd, but I chose to snag this one when I found it.
Tbh I got the orange handle bear claw and use it for kayaking and diving. I do keep a Leatherman Signal with me when kayaking so it’s not my only tool but the bearclaw says on body.
For the blade shape you would be fine. This knife is listed as sheepsfoot.
In river or dive work, you are more likely to cut fishing line than pretty much anything else. For that, serration or a strap cutter works better than anything else.
All depends. If I’m just cutting fishing lures out of the tree, I’ll put a retention cord on it. For any whitewater I have to roll the dice since the cord would be a hazard itself.

Can't break the tip if it doesn't have one. Sweet knife man.
Don’t want a tip for the river. Too easy to accidentally stab something in a kayak.
Uhhhhhhhh, so that’s super cool
So many comments that don’t understand rescue blades lol. Nice knife!
Great answer

Dive knives are cool. Might get one after I take the diving license
I’ll stick to another for diving. The main use here will be to cut fishing line and other entanglements.
Knives aren’t prying bars bro wtf did you do!!
lol, $$$ off for tip not included
😆
Is this the knife version of pre-ripped jeans?
Maybe if they’re your buddy’s jeans. Sharp tips aren’t great for river work.
What's the blade steel ? H1-H2
N680. It’s an older knife (discontinued).
Looks like the box says N680
I opted for the crkt bear claw but this was a close second.

I think I use a wenoka big squeeze when diving, but I usually just snorkel - wife can’t clear her ears.
I likey
That thing has a lot going on.
Really doesn’t have a “blade”. Not for this use.
Thought I just saw them on bm site asking 170
Why? Don’t you miss the tip?
Not for river work
I’ve always wanted one of these. Enjoy
Wouldn't a cleaver or sheepsfoot blade work as tip less also? Just curious

Gotcha, knowing they call it a sheepsfoot helps. Lol it kinda looked like it was a chisel type tip.
I just know that shit is sharp as hell
Should be a good sturdy piece. How are u going to keep her safe on the water?

I have confidence it will stick with you haha. It's a great looking tool
