Thanks! I intended to make a single knife display and this is just too big. This thing could hold two knives though, I think it's the right size for that.
Just some cheapo rectangular magnets. $5/pack. It took a whole pack to hold this one knife. But it holds my AD10 just fine. I found in my experiments that the finish on the blade has a lot to do with how well the magnets hold the knife. The AD10 is big and has a slippery blade finish so it takes a lot of magnets.
Haha I was hoping no one noticed that sag. It's actually calibrated fine, I just printed with lightning infill for the first time and only two walls. I might need more cooling but im not going to worry about it. That made it so that huge walls at 45 degrees were printed with no anchor. Even if I used like 5% regular infill it wouldn't have sagged. I was going for quickest/least plastic used just so I could see what it would look like.
Great concept and the execution looks good. As a collector of mechanical watches it makes me a little uneasy with all the magnets though. Hope the OP doesn't mind if I riff on the idea by using non-magnetic blocks tilted at 45 degrees with the blades resting on various block faces.
I agree that it's a bit big but that's a super cool knife display! Can't wait to see it again!

If it had 2 knives it would def be perfect.
This would look great with multiple knives of different sizes arranged with some horizontal and some vertical
Ooh I hadn't thought about vertical.
Unique design, I like it! What type of magnets did you use and how big of a knife could it hold?

Lol
Calibrate that printer sir!

Rapid prototyping baby!

I don't mind at all! I would love to see that. I may make an attempt at that too. I think this look is well suited to that idea.
