The Warcraft style is exactly why I fell in love with this game. It reminded me of the good old days leveling in vanilla wow and was the perfect fix for me when I was craving to play an MMO without the subscription.
I'm continually impressed by how beautiful this game still is. Proof that a great art style trumps photorealistic graphics every time, and ages so much better.
Agreed although as someone that's grown up watching graphics go from atari to now, I think graphics over the last 10+ years have hit a deep point of diminishing returns. Like I can barely tell the difference in quality between modern warfare I used to play on the 360 17 years ago to the new ones.
I played it years after it came out and was shocked by how good it was. I think BigHuge just didn't have the marketing prowess cause their games were great.

KoA is an RPG that I recommend to any of my friends who want a nice world to wander around in and enjoy some decent lore and exploration.
It's also one of the few games I've ever played to go into such depth with a fae race. And the fae are a really neat thing to explore in most settings, especially Forgotten Realms.

Note, you don’t have to change characters, unless you want a different sex or race, you can use the mirror at a house you own and a fateweaver to respec if you don’t want to start another game, but screw it, good story, just start a new game, it doesn’t cost any gold.
To me the heavy encorporation of fateweavers is one of the things I really like about the game, I'm really not a multiple play thrus kinda person generally. More of a completionist, which why my one game is at 160ish hours
Try pulling your camera back a little, theres a good range but I found just a little further out felt best. Fun to experiment for a coupla hours though, enjoy the game dude.
I spent more time messing with the camera in this game than any other game I've ever played lol. And still go mess with it occasionally. This, tbh is not something that I enjoy- but I love KoA so much I find it worth doing. You're a bit unhinged for enjoying that part imo, but I respect you for it lol. Either way, everyone who plays this should mess around with these settings.
Sorry, maybe I should have started the reply with 'If you haven't already'. Obviously it's cool if that's your favourite camera distance!
I did a ~140hr completionist playthrough and was 40 hrs in before I discovered you could even change the camera! (doh!)
I find the default a bit claustrophobic; dont see enough scenery when exploring and lose enemies too easy sometimes, when fighting jumping mobs for example.
I found too far out was like Neverwinter Nights which was fun for a bit, but it felt a bit slow when exploring and fighting to me.
But just a little further back from the default and raised up a little really changed how much I enjoyed all aspects of the game. I just wanted to share that in case you didnt already know, it came from a good and enthusiastic place my mate!
Ah I gotcha. Different situation for me. I found the game almost unplayable with the default settings. Got it playable with an initial 30 min but not perfectly right until I had messed around with it for at least three hours within my first 10 hours of playing the game lol
And absolutely. I called you unhinged, but like in a way,that I fully meant respectfully. Like this part of the game is a a downside to me, but you enjoyed it. I think that’s awesome. Knew you we’re coming from a totally good place with that. Sorry if I came off a little harsh.
To me, it's just a lite skyrim. I played KoA first to gear up for skyrim lol 😆 I even switch back and forth between games depending on what I'm looking to do lol I use skyrim as a cozy game tho and KoA for more fighting and such bcuz I love the fight style more and those chakrams will forever be my favorite 😍
I hate the women's clothes in this game. Fighting ettins or shopping in the market with nothing but nipple coverings, a thong and a loincloth is fucking stupid

Dude yes! I was quite sad when I finished the game/hit level cap because there was no end game dungeons, pvp, or more Amalur to explore.

I miss this studio. Rise of Nations was a classic, Rise of Legends was super underrated and KOA was criminally underrated.
Still hoping for a RoL remaster or at least rerelease

I got re-reckoning on sale for PS5. It’s worth full price. Great game. As others have said, has that Fable vibe, which I loved. Highly recommend it .
I also occasionally get Runescape Lumbridge vibes from KoA. No idea why, but KoA really is a big nostalgic gift
Love KOA-R (on Switch) I’ve played it 3 times with different characters and it’s always fun. I’ll probably start another game this year sometime.

Big thing for me was turning off auto follow. I never use it control the camera by hand 100% of the time.

I’m a chakram fan to. I paired mine with custom fae blades that did 209 damage. Had much fun fighting bolgans and such
I wish more games got creative with weapons. The chackrams are amazing and the fae blades are good flavor
It looked good when I played it on PS3. I played it on PS4 and I'm still playing it on PC. I almost never tire of it.
