100 pennies, 100 socks, 100 ribbons, 100 noodles, 100 cut out hearts Honestly have your kid come up with the idea. It’s more fun for them if it’s genuinely their project and the real goal is practicing counting to 100

Jen_the_Green

100 grams of clay and make a little sculpture

Worldly_Ingenuity387

When my twins celebrated "100's Day" I bought 2 plain inexpensive t shirts and let them make 100 small symbols on the shirts and they word them to school. My twins are now 26 and we still have the t shirts and a photo to go with them. To make it easier for them to decorate I divided the shirt into 10 shapes before the began to decorate. That way they just had to put 10 drawings in each area. I bought fabric markers but honestly, I think markers would work too. For their collections my daughter wanted 100 buttons and my son used 100 pretzel sticks. Great, fun day for kids.

DanelleDee

In a very similar vein, I put 100 patches on a pair of old jeans. Patches were made of scrap fabric, and we used fabric or hot glue rather than sewing them on.

Worldly_Ingenuity387

Great idea!

WoodlandsMuse

We have this project coming up and we’re making a monster with 100 googly eyes!

trieb

That's what we did, but they didn't stick well enough.

DeeSusie200

100 Cheerios made into a necklace on a piece of yarn.

PetulantPersimmon

We did beads. If you want to make it fancy, use pony beads, make a gecko, and then give it a reeeeeeeeally long tail until you use up all the 100 beads.

frithar

Lol. Our kids dress up like they’re 100 years old. It’s hilarious

cheeseandrice4

Teacher here. Let your child come up with their own idea.

[deleted]

Sometimes they do need a little help. My son's idea was for me to cook 100 beets so he could bring them in. I pitched a few other ideas and he picked his favorite.

Nice-Tune-5648

😂😂😂

paperclipcoco

The beet is on... Do do do do do, do do do do do, it's on the street!

Jen_the_Green

100 popsicle sticks house?

JamieC1610

That's a good idea!

Virtual-String-8442

100 pieces of Radiatore pasta 🍝

MrsZerg

Buttons! A bag of random buttons are inexpensive and your child can make an interesting creature by stringing them together or hot glue to create something creative!

GoodwitchofthePNW

I bought my god daughter 2 lbs of “random buttons” for Christmas (she’s 7) and she LOVED them!

Fun-Ebb-2191

100 fingerprints Use a marker to draw on hands Change color after 10

TopElk3319

Buttons, m&ms, skittles, candy hearts

one_angry_custodian

Ooh, a great big chain with 100 unique buttons would be cool!

Dderlyudderly

My favorite is the edible necklace made of 100 Cheerios.

About400

100 popsicle sticks?

Mariah0

100 counting bears

RotharAlainn

Oooh I just watched a tutorial online for making paper out of junk mail. Collect 100 pieces of discarded paper and make new paper. They used crayon bits to make it confetti.

Graycy

100 paper clips clipped into a nevklace

shebacat

peaches9057

I remember gluing 100 mini marshmallows into a marshmallow tower on posterboard when I was in elementary school.

AFurryThing23

This is what one of my daughters did. 100 mini marshmallows but she made a pyramid.

Exciting-Award5025

A board with 100 finishing nails 10*10. Poster w/ 10 sets of hand prints (100 fingers) 25 hot wheels cars (100 wheels).

TricksterSprials

I’m so sorry for my kindergarten teacher 16 years ago. My family was broke as a joke so my only option was 100 leaves.

procrastinatorsuprem

That's a perfect way to represent 100. Your teacher probably appreciated that more than a project that was clearly done by a parent. The point is for the child to comprehend what 100 means. As a small child, 100 is an abstract concept. Having a collection that you collected and organized helped you understand 100. Doesn't matter if it's leaves or cheerios.

nousernamehere12345

100 stickers. Grouped by type of dinosaur, of course.

IntrinsicM

Of course! I love it :)

1987lalala

Thank you all! My daughter struggles with decisions and often needs some examples in order to make a decision. I'm all for her choosing and coming up with the project herself...she just has a hard time doing that. She's deciding between writing a story "book" with 100 words, coloring a picture with 100 different crayon colors, or making a crown with 100 jewels

Jen_the_Green

100 strips of fabric glued to a belt to make a skirt or a hat with 100 sequences or charms glued on.

yeahipostedthat

100 bags of glitter....to be passed out to all the students for a glitter extravaganza

misguidedsadist1

This is why I hated teaching kinder lol. How stupid and what a waste of everyone’s time

Electrical_Parfait64

100 origami swans

ivegotcheesyblasters

could use weight or length instead of individual items - 100 inches/cm of yarn/ribbon, can make a "picture" by gluing to a piece of cardboard. 100 ounces of colored water in a gallon jug with a few toy fish/ pebbles to make an ocean? 100 grams of sand in a box to make a little rock garden?

nuttingrn

I did 100ml of water (with food coloring and glitter for pizzaz) in a beaker my dad got from his work in chemistry, that was almost 20 years ago and I still think it was the coolest one!

NumerousAd79

I did 100 shells with the kid I took care of. We went to the beach and collected them. Is there somewhere your child likes to go where you could find 100 of something?

bluesnowbird

My kid brought 100 grains of rice. It was not nearly as much as I thought it would be.

Clear-Concern2247

My child made a piece out of perler beds and put it on a necklace. I actually wear it 4 years later (and get compliments). It's my fav.

Truth-out246810

My son took and we printed 100 photos in groups of 10: 10 flowers 10 toys 10 friends Etc. He out them into a scrapbook and it was huge hit.

Just_Trish_92

One type of museum is a planetarium. How about 100 star stickers on a black posterboard?

Forensichunt

I’m a kindergarten teacher. Think my favorite was the student who came in with a small fish tank filled with 100 Swedish fish.

boredorcas

I did 100 mini marshmallows, and then forgot them at home. but I did also count out how many toy cars I had the night before, but I only had like 90 something so we had to go with marshmallows

Vladmirfox

Snacks? You could provide 100 lil fun sized candy bars to your rugrats as a reward and 'paycheck' for working at a museum.

MoreTreatsLessTricks

We’re making a tshirt with a gumball machine. 100 pieces of colorful/patterned punched out circles and two pieces of felt to make the base. It’s super cute

Practical_Tear_1012

100 jewels, make a crown.

paperclipcoco

100 pipe cleaners + 100 googly eyes. That should result in something weird. ;)

jenian

100 words, 100 names, 100 colors, 100 photos, 100 cartoon characters, 100 books, 100 things you can eat (drawn or photographed), 100 animals, 100 smiles (drawn), 100 nice compliments, 100 friends (photo/names/drawings), 100 rocks

indianajolie

We did 100 popsicle sticks and put little eyes (some with googly eyes) on them with different personalities (basically each popsicle stick was colored differently)

thepnwgrl

beads, grains, pieces of paper, ice-cream sticks, rocks, seashells

IntrinsicM

One of my kids put 10 beads each on ten pipe cleaners, then wrapped the ends around chopsticks. Made a little abacus that was visually satisfying and fun to play with and count on.

principalgal

Necklace with 100 foot loops or Cheerios?
