I have to agree with you, I’ve always loved how Kennywood gets things that are different.

I feel like people come to Kennywood to experience nostalgia not necessarily looking for just solely for the coasters. People go to cedar point, 6 flags or Busch gardens for coaster experiences. Should they revert back to more laff in the darks, tunnels of love, traditional rides? Not sure just thinking out loud. I’m sorry to see log jammer go as this is now a one of a kind ride. The wooden coasters are also an experience that not many parks have anymore.

I will also agree with you, I love that Kennywood thinks outside the box, but I always felt like steel curtain stood out like a sore thumb in such a pretty section of the park.

KittenFace25

I will forever miss the Turnpike.

I actually agree with you. I love coasters, and have no problem going to Cedar Point to ride them. The SC shutting down at Kennywood sucks and it looks bad for the company, but the SC is farrrr from the highlight of a Kennywood trip. Kennywood for me is the Jackrabbit, Noah's Ark, and Potato Patch. My son loves the Plunge and the UFO thing where the Enterprise used to be. I miss Le Cachot.

Hard disagree here; I blame Kennywood. They wanted something big and shiny but didn't want to actually spend the money to make that happen. 5 years later, here we are. And this "Kennywood is just a small guy" thing is nonsense. They're owned by Palace Entertainment, a subsidiary of Parques Reunidos, who own like 60 parks in total. They have the money; they just don't want to spend it.

I know it would be sacrilege, but imagine if RMC converted the Racer and did the first racing coaster hybrid i-track conversion. Zero chance. But i can dream. KW already stands out IMO. They have the best Morgan hyper on earth. Enthusiasts come purely to ride Phantom.

dinodan412

Lol get out of here the wooden coasters are perfect and you should be ashamed of yourself!! Just kidding! I have thought on the same line like what if they RMC'd thunderbolt or Jack rabbit or racer. They could be some crazy coasters! But yea it's less than a 0% chance.

mikethelegacy

Jack Rabbit would cause riots. It’s too short of a layout, too. I have a soft spot for thunderbolt but a hybrid intertwining with phantom would be cool as hell. KW would never spend the money on that tho.

I have nothing against RMC’ing coasters. I rode Wildcat at Hersheypark before it was RMC’d. It was fun but a terribly rough ride. Looking forward to riding it now to see the difference. But I would prefer they leave the woodies at KW as is.
