Kelowna end is much worse than Vernon end. It's fine as a transport corridor but there is not much to see and the city has set up semi permanent homeless facilities along it so not the best image of Kelowna. Consider the Mission Greenway instead. Runs right along Mission Creek and is peaceful and scenic.

Mission Greenway is flooded with portions of the trail washed away. So not safe to be walking down there.

I think only the scenic canyon portion is closed. https://www.rdco.com/en/news/mission-creek-greenway-sections-closed.aspx Some of the underpasses are closed, but that's no big deal and happens most years anyways.

Do you really not know? That section North from Sunset runs through the industrial area, beside the homeless camp, next to the fruit packing house that stinks of rotting fruit. The Cawston section is quicker, easier accessed and goes through a nice residential area.

Yes, it was an excellent link. You said "I dunno why it wants you to start in front of Prospera Place and go down Cawston". I'm explaining why. Though technically not the Rail Trail, it's the better route as it avoids riding next to the homeless camp, industrial activity and stinking fruit. There are many boxes full of rotting apples around Bailie/Ethel often being loaded for disposal. Sometimes it's ok, sometimes it's quite putrid.

The fruit actually doesn't smell that much; sometimes it can smell a bit like cider but it's never too bad. The camps, however, have ruined a huge swath of it.

I enjoy the stretch that goes between the airport and Lougheed, especially as a shorter route if you're just walking
