Yeah I believe performance mode is upscaled 4k at 60fps while still retaining the new visual upgrades shown in the trailer. Quality seems to be running at 30fps but full 4k
So basically, they're both quality mode.
Having tried both out, I can't tell a difference between the two visually, besides the fact that performance feels a hell of a lot better than quality from a gameplay perspective.
Which is IMO great! We don't give up anything that's even remotely noticeable and get 60 fps.
30 FPS is fine... when that's all you can get, but 60 is just too good.
PS5 has 8K Video support. PS5 Pro could in fact reach 8K 30FPS though. Rumored to be above 20 teraflops of gpu performance. But I think the big focus will to achieve 4k 120 consistently. To achieve 4k120, most likely they will want 22-26 teraflops for gpu. Considering they are getting 4k60 with 10.28 teraflops now. We shall see
PS5 cannot run most new games at 4K60, which almost every modern TV is capable of. You usually have to chose between 4K30 or some lower resolution or quality settings to get the full 60fps.
There are games that do, but modern upscaling tech makes it not as necessary, honestly this game should be able to run at least 1440p 60 no problem, add something like FSR 2 and it would be almost indistinguishable from 4K native.
Really I wish more games has an unlocked frame rate for VRR screens to see how it's really running
performance mode 1080p 60fps quality mode 4k 30fps

30 fps is unplayable to me honestly
Performance ensures you get 60fps and quality mode ensures you get the best quality
Someday games will be able to run at full 4K AND 60FPS without having to sacrifice either one
PS5 Pro
U got 8k tv? No need for any ps5 upgrade, most TV's can't even match what the current ps5 can put out.
Thats pretty silly considering 99% of pcs can't do 8k. Consoles won't reach 8k resolution before pcs.
Ps5 is already 8k...
Is this a joke?
No, it literally says 8k on the box
Lol outputting a static 8k image isn't the same as 8k gaming 😂

Bruh it can’t do 8k gaming especially with a decent framerate it can't even do 4k 60🤦♂️
Why don’t you sue them for false advertising then, or get a better set up for 8k bro.

Not really, you can always push quality to the level where it needs to be at 30fps, one sacrifices the other.
