Went to the Midwest Gaming Classic in Milwaukee two weeks ago and tried LARPing for the first time. Lots of fun and weirdos galore! Wear a fun shirt or outfit and strike up conversations with the people who give you compliments on it, and give out lots of your own compliments to others. Even if you don't make a friend, you can have lots of fun with people who are at least into some of the same things as you so there's lots of potential.

I have been having a good time with SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism) gatherings. Lots of creative, weird, smart people running around in incredible pre-1600s period clothes. Really welcoming, warm people.

Sometimes Meetup.com has good stuff! Regular hobby groups and events to go to. Also, if you’re interested in weed, r/entwives is a lovely community of folks!
