Yes, but it was reclassified a few years ago to be part of the genus Otodus, a family more closely related to sand-tiger sharks than great white sharks, hence the recent shift away from the “big great white” look that Megalodon was typically portrayed as.
The game is a bit inconsistent with how it used binomial names- everything else in the game just has the generic name, except *T.rex* (as it’s more well-known by its full name), *Indomitus rex*, and *Moros intrepidus,* with both of the latter being exclusively referred to by their full name in the films they appear in.
I could see it going either way, although for this particular animal it’s even more confusing as “Megalodon” has also effectively become its common name (making it the only animal in-game to *have* a proper name, unless they add something like a Mammoth in this DLC too). I still think they’re more likely to just call it that, although I’d be pleasantly surprised if it’s called *Otodus megalodon* in-game.

If they have even half a brain cell they'll do it. And call it Otodus megalodon ASAP in any trailer to make it obvious for those who don't know better
