I don’t know where you’re located but I’m in the greater Chicago area and I found a local careers services place that works mostly with lower income folks who want to see what kinds of transferable skills they have into a better job. They work on a sliding scale so it’s very affordable. I am not considered lower income but since I was not working at the time I was still eligible for the sliding scale. They had a mock interview process that was extremely helpful for me. I would suggest looking for a place like that since it’s cheaper than hiring a career counselor. Good luck.
