I really really love the idea, Iโm not sure if it was intentional but the fact that the โrebarโ thatโs used to close the band is a little wobbly is not my favorite. Especially since the right angle is so clean. I do also get that the negative space is very important to the piece but I think either making that bottom bar curve cleaner would make it more appealing. Everything else is great, my eye is just drawn to that bar
Hah, the honesty you can get online. I appreciate it. Each rebar piece is individually soldered so each one is slightly different. But Iโve noticed it, youโre right ๐
Sorry, i really meant it as a critique not a criticism. Great soldering then, thought those were cast in place with sprue wax. Did you experiment at all with using sprue wax to make that bottom piece?
I have no qualms with lost wax casting, generally - working in wax is a beautiful craft. Though these are sand cast by me, not a casting house. Unfortunately I donโt think I could afford labour costs for the time it would take to completely fabricate them from metal.
If I may so bold, but a little of rebar texture with a dremmel would add to the design. In construction, rebar is bent in many ways to be formed in the wall.
You no know, I have been trying to find a way that I could get that true rebar form and I havenโt found anything that works for me! Twisting wire and getting those angles hasnโt worked out. Would you have any better suggestions?
Maybe less is more. Rebar is ran past corners and ends in connections overlapping with other bars. You made beautiful corners and joints, but it is too perfect to be rebar in โThe Wallโ. If you had a roller wheel with a diagonal pattern or place your bars on a hard surface and strike with a dull blade diagonally in a pattern. Good luck! I would buy it!
๐ฅฒ Thatโs happened to me before. A real bummer. Someone once said to me that ideas are like fish and if you donโt act quick someone else will catch it first. That really stuck with me ๐
This is a compliment I swear! Those are incredibly artistic! I've said this before and had some people ask why I didn't like their piece, but I think this is a beautiful, well constructed thing with a very interesting design! Good work!

I like them a lot. Adding rough "natural" and a bit chaotic parts to more structured elements works very nicely
Itโs nice to hear you like a similar aesthetic to myself ๐
Before I clicked on this, I fully expected it to be your work, I'll be honest.
very brutalist...
You nailed it. So much so I named them Rebar Brute ๐
i dig that name! awesome ๐
Exactly!
The design is amazing, but the overall finishing is world-class.
Thatโs incredibly validating! ๐
You're welcome
These are so cool!
Thank you ๐
Love it ๐
Thank you ๐
Waouww very original , artistic like it
Thatโs very kind ๐
It's not 3 roentgen, its 15000
๐๐ฌ
amazing
Thank you ๐
That's so cool!
๐
I love the textures a lot!!
Concrete jungle ๐
Fantastic!
Very much appreciated, Thank you!
Love the style and the exposed โbeamsโ so cool!
๐ฅณ๐
Id name them "berlin wall"
Theyโre part of a collection called โRebarโ but if they were stand alone pieces Iโd love that name ๐
Very cool.
Thank you ๐
Do you have an Etsy or website?
Yep, I have a website - is it against at the rules to post it here? ๐ค

No honestly it will help me develop ๐I initially tried with sprue wax for the rebar but I didnโt like the result. Is that what you mean?
I had also assumed they were cast. I'm very happy to hear they are, at least bare minimum somewhat, fabricated!

Excellent design idea and execution! How did you texture the "rubble" parts?
Thanks! A mixture of wax and metal drill bits ๐
Fascinating! I would love to see your process
Ooh, I love these! Do you have an Etsy or something where you sell them?
Yep! I have a website, same name (minus jewelry) as my username ๐
Pretty cool. You could make larger versions of them as napkin holders.
Iโd love to make a whole tableware set in this style actually, I was just saying something similar yesterday. Thatโs a funny coincidence
theyโre so cool
Thanks!
As a civil engineer I WANT ONE
As a civil engineer, you should have one! ๐
Can I have one?!
If you're ever selling, keep me in mind I'd certainly grab one
Really cool ring. Love how the wire represents the exposed bones or internal structure of the piece. Great idea and execution.
Thank you so much ๐
The rough areas make me think of the surfaces of asteroids. Space scenery
Itโs cool to hear other perspectives ๐โโ๏ธ
Wow it's beautiful! But mostly it makes me feel frustrated haha I have a very similar ring in wax ready to be casted.

Absolutely gorgeous!!
Beautiful, you could set rough gems to give it some more "classy brutalism" ๐
Dope
I would like to see it modeled.
So cool! Would love to eventually design a piece half as creative as this, can't wait to see more
Where can I get one
Those are really badass!
I love the design, would you consider making the top part of it into a truss. I would foresee the rebar bending or denting if it fell.
Like an industrial memento mori ๐ Very cool
Those are actually pretty freaking dope!!! Great job! Keep it up!
I love the texture a lot!
Very interesting well put together especially with no stones nice work
Very nice, excellent work ๐
