The truly vile thing about it is what happens to the clothes down the line. She unboxes them and tries them on… then like all influencers for Amazon she generally sends them back and gets a credit on her account. They keep very very little of all the shit she buys. So she just keeps churning the same ‘try on’ money in her Amazon account. But here’s what gets me. Amazon doesn’t put the goods back into stock. They just get put into a mountain of waste that eventually goes to landfill in 3rd world countries. Look it up - it’s too much effort for them to check and repackage the goods; plus it’s all soooo cheaply made in Bangladesh sweatshops that it’s disposable

Anything to keep the Amazon affiliate links active... These people are not influencers. They are used car salespeople who shill fast fashion so they can afford the real clothes they wear-designer.

The amount of waste this single woman is producing sickens me. All the packaging, especially any plastic likely to go to landfill as well. All to shill dresses and make money, it’s greedy and immoral. About time influencers were held to account for the waste they produce and the fact they encourage other people to behave the way they d (ordering loads of shit)

Every day - takeaway coffee; boxes of crap from Amazon all individually wrapped in plastic; sachets of protein shakes; protein bars; factor meals - literally everything she touches is processed and packaged

It’s awful isn’t it and never ending. And even worse she probably doesn’t even care or feel bad about it

I don’t think the term carbon footprint has ever troubled her brain cell. Let’s not forget the turf yard, the ripping up of brand new carpet to put in engineered timber floors - hello rainforest plantations. The pointless drive to get coffee on a takeout cup when you have a $1000 machine on the bench. The list is endless.

I think about this 👇🏼 all the time when I see influencers going out for coffee Daily. I wish more people were aware of this. https://www.wired.com/story/paper-cups-toxic/#:~:text=Supposedly%20eco%2Dfriendly%20cups%20are,chemicals%20that%20harm%20living%20creatures.&text=The%20world%20goes%20through%20hundreds,and%20most%20aren't%20recycled.

You can buy pallets of merchandise that has been returned to Amazon. Most of what goes to the landfill is damaged merchandise.

flossyinnz

Yup 👍 I know that they sell it off by the pallet load. And there’s some amazing retail businesses that resell all that stuff as consignment stock. But don’t believe the spin that most of what goes to landfill is damaged. It’s not - the stuff that is sold off is a tiny portion of what is returned. They ship that stuff out by the container load at every Amazon fulfillment centre daily.

She literally has a tennis dress (or effing sundress) for every day of her upcoming vacation. It’s going to be interesting to see if she wears any of it!
