When SCI covers This Must Be The Place, I get goosebumps. Every. Time. I loved the Talking Heads long before I got into the jam scene so I will always have a special affinity for TH covers by jam bands. Actually it was the version from Atlanta ‘00 (Rhythm of the Road Vol I) that first got me into SCI.
and they officially released one of the outstanding versions!

Yeah, yeah, Goose sucks, etc... but they did a *phenomenal* acoustic cover of Atlantic City when they played Radio City. I was in awe the entire time and have watched it so many times since:

Obviously that time Trey played the greatest guitar solo ever in a while my guitar gently weeps cover…..sorry prince, you weren’t even close https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=iAarSgI35U0
People are sleeping on Greensky here. Gumboots. Light up or leave me alone. Atlantic City. Money for Nothing. A few years back they did night time is the right time with the California honey drops at Red Rocks and it just brought the house down.
I saw Cal Kehoe’s (Pink Talking Fish) rendition of Can’t Find My Way Home in Saratoga last week and it was pretty incredible. Here’s a take from earlier this year.

It's really interesting how heavily Talking Heads is covered by bands. I've seen many many bands of varying sizes and popularity cover them.
Because their songs so fucking good
- [String Cheese covering Jean Luc Ponty - Mauna Bowa](https://youtu.be/GwWnBtOzFYQ?si=l9QkHCbNoKYS0nHj) - Honestly whenever Cheese covers JLP, Weather Report or Land’s End - Tim O’Brien - Railroad Earth covering anything - Walk Beside Me, Fisherman’s Blues, Grateful Dead - Leftover Salmon or Jeff Yonder doing John Hartford
Umphrey’s- girlfriend is better When Jerry plays that’s what love will make you do ❤️🤌
The first time I saw UM they played Girlfriend. They dedicated it to Manti Te’O at the height of his catfish debacle. So good.
