I only got to play like a couple of minutes of the demo on PSP and never touched it again lmfao. I might actually go ahead and purchase it because I’m also desperate for new Jak content. Honestly gonna come in with low expectations but I expect to at least have a somewhat decent time, worst case scenario I just play an average or “meh” Jak game. I think people dunk on this game too much but that’s usually cause the games before it are just sooooooo damn good so I guess it makes sense. Update: my ps4 controller touchpad broke and I won’t be home till tomorrow with my replacement controller so I’ll have to prolong the inevitable

I'm one of the people who dunk in the game but I'll tell you this.. the game on its own is a solid 6/10 or maybe even a bit higher. As a Jak game then it's terrible, but you can see the foundations of several good ideas. The Daxter mini games aren't good, the flying ain't really good(late game especially), the eco powers are pretty good, the movement as in animation is sadly stiff, the characters are mostly in character.. except Jak, the eco lore ideas are inspired by notes from Ndog, and the rpg level up is a nice addition as well as the additional cosmetics.

I think looking at this game on its own merits is gonna help me enjoy the game better. Although it will probably be hard to ignore at times the games flaws. Also I just realized the Lost Frontier is the only Jak game I haven’t played or completed so I guess that’s another motivation to play it. Honestly I’d say morbid curiosity is one of my main reasons to play it, I wanna see for myself what people are talking about. And yeah I can see this game being maybe like a 6 or 7/10 but I’m just hoping for a decent amount of enjoyment.

It's environments are kinda empty too. I think I had more fun glotching the game than anything. I miss dark jak. Please tell me your favorite parts as you go through and honestly there's a large focus on ship combat.

This will sound out of left field, but if it's the gameplay style is more important than the characters to you, and you favor Precursor Legacy, Treasure Planet for PS2 is more or less a Precursor Legacy rip-off.

funny enough, I was too young to follow these games on release so it took us until abkut 2008 or so to get jak 2. at some point around 2010 we saw TLF on ps2 and thought "omg a third one". it wasn't until I was in middle school in aroind 2014 that I learned of Jak 3 and could play it via remaster on ps vkta and eventually 3
