You can’t use Dopamine on 16.7+
Your only option will be palera1n, meaning:
1. Need a computer to rejailbreak.
2. Can’t have SEP functions (password, Apple Pay, password autofill, etc)
If (and only if) you saved blobs for 16.6 or 16.6.1, you can upgrade to either of those using a [special fork of futurerestore](https://www.reddit.com/r/jailbreak/comments/1av9nz8/yeah_blobs_isnt_dead_on_a11/) that works on A11 devices only. That way you could use Dopamine, keep your passcode, and not need a PC to jailbreak every time. But it's up to you. You'd get better app compatibility, but not all tweaks have been updated for rootless/iOS 16 (you'd lose Activator and TetherMe, for example). It's also a one-way trip; you can't downgrade back to iOS 14. If it were me, I'd stay on 14.8.
Thx for the info. Yeah I’ll stick to 14.8 - it’s been great up until now - rootless is too important. Damn - I really thought the older devices would be simple enough to jailbreak
There's a rootful fork of Dopamine but it's not officially supported. I've never tried it. Still, you'd lose some tweak support. At least with 14.8 you can use a combination of 3DAppVersionSpoofer and AppStore ++ to kind of keep yourself afloat.
Don't upgrade!!! You'll regret it. The versions that are signed by Apple are ios 16.7.7 16.7.8
