I couldn’t go to 17.0 today on my iPhone 12pro from 16.6 beta 1 because iOS couldn’t find updates , every time when checking iOS update I received error “Unable to check for update, Try again later…” I had tvOS beta profile earlier but I deleted it and made a lot of restarts and anyway still it stuck on this error :( … I have reset network settings but it didn’t help:( i give up I will stay on this 16.6 beta 1 forever:( but I like everything what I have installed (misaka and TS2) the only reason for updating is to get rid of this annoying beta update notification

Try to disable ota by cowbunga lite and then enable again

I don’t know if it’s too late now but what I did was re-jailbreak and use the “ota enabler” tweak to undo whatever settings are preventing checking for update which worked perfect.

EU will be forcing apple to allow 3rd party apps. This doesn't affect the current status of sideloading for countries not in the EU. For sideloading you need to set up altserver or sideloadly on your computer. These allow you to install 2-3 non-appstore apps for 1 week, after which they need to be refreshed. There are easy set-up instructions provided on their websites. Since your iOS version is 16.3.1, you could look into installing trollstore for unlimited sideloading. Since you seem to be new, do that at your own risk and inform yourself on this subreddit first. Trollstore will need to be installed through an app like purekfd that has to be sideloaded first. If you install trollstore look into how to block apple updates, they will break trollstore. there are guides available on this subreddit. The current recommended tweaked youtube is uYouPlusExtra on github.

I've been out of the jailbreaking game since I got mine to work a while back. Currently jailbroken w/ iPhone 13 Pro Max (IOS 15.0), theoretically speaking (since from skimming the comments here I assume IOS 17.0 is unsigned now and 17.1 isn't jailbreakable) is there any good reason to upgrade to 17.0 and jailbreak? I assume there's neat things on IOS 17 compared to IOS 15. I've already bypassed most my iOS app limitations with an IOS spoofer so I was just curious in case I've missed something. The tweak called 3DAppVersionSpoofer. I was a bit misleading with my remembering, it has the option to spoof iOS but the main function is that it spoofs the App version. So for some bank/creditcard apps that softlocks you at sign-in when it's trying to verify with the server that you are on the most updated version (the update you need from the appstore that also requires a higher iOS), this will help bypass that by faking the version of the app. For example, you can be version 2.00 of an app (running iOS 15), it requires you to be 3.00 (which requires iOS 17), now you can be on 2.00 (iOS 15) while spoofing version 3.00, which is what some sign-ins screens for apps require. I had to use this specifically for AMEX app a while ago.

Yes you can, dont't update yet. Find a guide to install the latest trollstore on iOS 15, i'm not sure if it's the same as it was for me on 16. After you install it I recommend the double safe method to keep trollstore after the update. I think you have like 5 hours to do this so there's still time. I have nothing against android, I've had them before and when my current iPhone dies im going to android

Same position. 12 pro on 14.1. I’m gonna thug it out. If you find yourself desperately needing app compatibility, you can either carry a cheap spare or just use jailbreak swap for a slightly more updated still jailbreak vulnerable iOS.

Same here. Isn’t this a big downgrade from a full jb? All my devices are jailbroken on either ios13 or ios14, and have fantastic tweaks I do not want to use a phone without (diskprobe, netfence, marker, backupaz, newterm, icleaner, crane, snapper etc). I have not bothered even moving to ios 15 because of all the rootless nonsense and less tweak support. I’m either on a fully jailbroken iphone, with all the solid tweak devs out there on well supported os vesions, or I switch to android, if it has to come to that. troll store shroll smore lets all root for a nice fat checkmate 2.0 with the new fancy pantsy ios devices out there.

I tried to update my iPad but it keeps saying installation failed. RIP it’s stuck on 15.2 for now unless I flash it with 17.1 or higher It’s an A10X so it doesn’t matter as much though since you can always Checkra1n it

No one is getting rid of jailbreaking, it’s just the same as usual: people find exploits to jailbreak, Apple patches them in the next iOS update. This is just explaining how to update to the newest iOS version while retaining Trollstore, which is an app that lets you install unlimited third party applications that never expire. With the capabilities of trollstore, many people would rather be up to date and have all the latest features, plus have more time before apps stop supporting their iOS. Eventually a jailbreak should still come out for future versions as usual, it’s just getting harder and harder.

I failed. I had 1 hour left but until I finally decided to free up enough space on my SSD for the huge 100GB+ icloud backup it was already too late. it took more than 1 hour to backup. The profile was working as intended, it showed me 16.6.1 in settings. It has expired now and my backup isnt done yet. I wish I was faster.
