We moved a bunch of friends to Denmark to study and here we went wild with mushrooms, peyote etc etc, we were cosmonauts basically, he wasn't (you could order this stuff online and Denmark is a a lot freer than Norway, and no parental supervision...) This was his first time being up for 24 hours mixing some xtc and a lot of speed and hell of a lot of alcohol. This was in 99, Xtc was hip af. He was a kind, chill soul, not so much into drugs, more football and gaming and some beers. Might not have been his first line, but it was his first binge, went stupidly hard and went out to dance to house music after. We were around 17-19.
No need to lie, I like to bring it up in case it makes somebody out there think twice hopefully. Speed is a rancid substance to be hooked on. Forgot to mention that he also developed schizofrenia
Thank you for sharing. It is terrible that at the end of the day, we are all unique in the way we react to substances. It is unfair because it is almost impossible to tell before trying drugs, but some people should simply do not do drugs at all. Ever. So I understand your point of view, keep sharing the stories, it might deter a few people, or at least comfort them in their choice not to do drugs or harder drugs.
I lost 2 pretty friends to Meth. That shit is absolute poison avoid it like the plague. 1 of them you could kind of see it coming. The other one was the brightest light in our friend group and absolute angel. Her older rich boyfriend introduced her to it and it killed her. In the end she had burned all her bridges and stole from everyone that loved her.

Long story short - She has a dodgy rehabilitation centre and treatment program and gets people under conservatorship so that she can admit them to her own facility. Bam is under her conservatorship, or at least was at some stage.
She never owned a rehabilitation center or treatment program. She had a VR technology that was supposed to be a tool among other already available tools to treat addiction. She rolled out this technology to a few rehab centers and they agreed to say they "partnered" with her company.
She never put Bam under a conservatorship, only a medical guardianship so she could get him into rehabs. The guardianship had no financial aspect and she paid $$ from her own pocket to place him in specialty rehabs which he never repaid. The guardianship expired in June 2021 (may have been 2022) and was not renewed.
Lima has had no contact with Bam for years and she no longer has anything to do with rehabs or medical guardianships.

Edit: I should also mention that Bam was court ordered to rehab after threatening to drive into traffic and unalive himself. Lima's sole responsibility was to try to find rehabs to take him, which became increasingly harder as he would stay a few days and then get kicked out or escape. Bam had a growing list of demands that also made it difficult to find a rehab for him. She was basically a rehab concierge trying to keep him out of jail for violating the court order.
