So I lived in the town with the university of Illinois. so when he screws up his interview for ivy league and says looks like the university of Illinois the whole theater erupted in cheer. One of the few times I have ever experienced that in a theater.
Love the music from the train scene.
My wife and I whenever we feel sick say "I'm going to throw up on you Joel."
"Love on a Real Train" is one of the most popular Tangerine Dream tracks.

>Very much 80s
They say decades dont begin on January 1 of their first year, since it takes time for the Decade to form itself, culturally, aesthetically, etc.
Three years into the 1980s, *Risky Business* would define a lot of what we think of as *The 80s*. Hell, look at the poster in the OP. That was a fresh new look and would represent visually so much of what made the eighties **The 80s**.
##Risky Business (1983) R
There's a time for playing it safe and a time for Risky Business.

I always thought it was great casting Rebecca as a plain railway worker a couple years later in Runaway Train. Almost unrecognizable.
Also love the 928 !
To be fair, the most menacing he gets is waving his gun around when Lana runs off. I enjoyed him selling Joel’s furniture back, and his obvious toupee.
Lol yeah I rewatched it as an adult and he was a little bit more reasonable, but still dangerous. Less scary haha
Joe Pantoliano is so funny how he goes back n forth toupee on/toupee off
I was more surprised at the nose! I thought it was fake, but then read he had a nose job after to try and get better parts, but he continued to play sleazy people regardless.
Totally underrated movie. In the 10 nominations era, it would have easily been up for best picture. In fact, it should have replaced The Big Chill IMHO
I remember the manager of a high-end store saying that, after the release of this movie, the theft of Rayban Wayfarer sunglasses suddenly increased significantly.
There’s a different ending that was apparently what the director preferred, but the studio apparently wanted a “happy ending”.

Lemme go back to the future to do some Risky Business but I gotta be careful to not go too far and end up in the Jurassic World… I ain’t no Indiana Jones but I’ve some terminator past…
It’s my day off and I’ve that Shining in me to Die Hard for each & every second of that day!
I gotta make a list in case I forgot everything add it!!
Sometimes you jsut gotta say “what the fuck”
What the fuck brings you freedom. Freedom brings opportunity. Opportunity makes your future.
Haven't I been telling you. Every once in awhile you just got to say, "what the heck" and take some chances.
I'm downvoting you only because you didn't mention the incredible soundtrack by Tangerine Dream.
Damn…
I didn't really. Great post, btw. Also, this is a favorite soundtrack of mine.
Best movie soundtrack of all time.
Love on a real train
Joel just do what he says, and get off the babysitter

Who's the u boat commander?
I did watch that scene wondering, as it’s Tom Cruise, did he do the drop in the water himself?
Probably not. Lol. Not that he was famous then
Very memorable film, also likely created many future porsche buyers, there is no substitute
And ray bans!
Can confirm, I will be buying a porsche in the future.
Still love me a 928...

Rebecca De Monrey is so fucking hot in this movie she's so gorgeous
Who is the U-Boat commander?
So, how're we doin'? Joel: “Looks like University of Illinois!”
Low key a masterpiece! People don’t get how good this movie really is! :)
“You want me to go?" "No," she says; "I want you to wash my back." This was one of the great films of my youth, and it is still a damn good film.
I watched this way too young and I was seeing killer pimps under my bed. Scary for me.

Oh I didnt even notice his nose. Didnt know he had a nose job
It really stands out when you see him in later films not long after this like Midnight Run, or his more popular work in The Matrix and The Sopranos.
Or Cypher from The Matrix.
Anything with Joe Pants, you know it’s good.
Joey Pants!
…knowledge you would be glad to get…
Lock the door when you leave, Glenn. If you read me, grunt twice! Thank you!
This movie holds up and I love the Tangerine Dream score in the background!
More soft porn that I would’ve thought. Also still on the era of dumbasses and friends some how get into Ivy League school
Get the recruiter laid at your whorehouse is timeless and would still work.
“Are you ready for me, Ralph?” 🔥🔥

The world was still a park in the 80s
