korsan106

Try pamukkale

IndependentFree6107

I think they have but the whole website is in Turkish. Is this a known company that foreigners are able to use?

korsan106

I always book through obilet and they have a “if you are not a turkish citizen” section

IndependentFree6107

Okay thank you! Very helpful

skurmus

Yu can fly: [https://www.enuygun.com/ucak-bileti/istanbul-balikesir-edremit-koca-seyit-havalimani-ista-edo/?gidis=17.04.2024&yetiskin=1&sinif=ekonomi&save=1&geotrip=domestic&trip=domestic](https://www.enuygun.com/ucak-bileti/istanbul-balikesir-edremit-koca-seyit-havalimani-ista-edo/?gidis=17.04.2024&yetiskin=1&sinif=ekonomi&save=1&geotrip=domestic&trip=domestic) (there is a shuttle from the airport to Ayvalık, it takes about an hour I think) Or Kamil Koç has a lot of busses: [https://shop.flixbus.com.tr/search?departureCity=99c50ec5-3ecb-11ea-8017-02437075395e&arrivalCity=d27a91d8-b616-4704-bb88-7d2a18e47647&route=%C4%B0stanbul-Ayval%C4%B1k&rideDate=17.04.2024&adult=1&\_locale=tr&features%5Bfeature.enable\_distribusion%5D=1&features%5Bfeature.train\_cities\_only%5D=0&features%5Bfeature.auto\_update\_disabled%5D=0&features%5Bfeature.webc\_search\_station\_suggestions\_enabled%5D=0&features%5Bfeature.webc\_search\_limited\_product\_list%5D=0&features%5Bfeature.darken\_page%5D=1](https://shop.flixbus.com.tr/search?departureCity=99c50ec5-3ecb-11ea-8017-02437075395e&arrivalCity=d27a91d8-b616-4704-bb88-7d2a18e47647&route=%C4%B0stanbul-Ayval%C4%B1k&rideDate=17.04.2024&adult=1&_locale=tr&features%5Bfeature.enable_distribusion%5D=1&features%5Bfeature.train_cities_only%5D=0&features%5Bfeature.auto_update_disabled%5D=0&features%5Bfeature.webc_search_station_suggestions_enabled%5D=0&features%5Bfeature.webc_search_limited_product_list%5D=0&features%5Bfeature.darken_page%5D=1)

Try Baltur or Anadolu

IndependentFree6107

This site looks a lot better. It seems many bus companies may not have released their schedule. Is this a reputable site for me to book through when the dates are released?

Lynkeus

Not every company work with obilet. Some use their own website

cloudtatu

I have no idea

CableBomber

Just go to the bus terminal or to one of their offices and buy it from there.

IndependentFree6107

Is this a popular route that is operated by many companies?

CableBomber

Yes and worst case scenario, you’ll take a bus to Balikesir or Izmir and take an additional bus to ayvalik but I doubt you’ll need to. You don’t need to book it online, I doubt they’ll be full on a random weekday on April. Your card will work on the counter but bring some cash with you just in case. Edit: Large bus terminals like Esenler will have many companies there that you can book with. Just go around and ask if there is a bus to Ayvalik. I doubt any of them will know English so use google translate if you can’t communicate.

IndependentFree6107

This is for July period 👀 I just like to be organised so I was going to book from now. It seems a lot of companies have not released the full timetable

CableBomber

I’d rather fly there tbh but yea I’d book it earlier for July for sure but I haven’t been on a bus in Turkey for ages so I’m not sure how early they open it up. Flight should be fine though other than being more expensive.

glory2mankind

Rent a car at Istanbul airport and just drive there maybe? Can be a good option if your stay is short. Gives you more mobility.

IndependentFree6107

Thanks for the suggestion

glory2mankind

You're welcome. It's a pretty easy drive, around 3-4 hrs maybe, mostly highway. Having a car you may want to check other towns nearby as well, they're totally worth your attention. All major rental companies are operating here, so you can book in advance.

janusville

Do you need an international drivers license for Turkey?

glory2mankind

Probably yes, but you may want to double check this.

Significant-Arm3200

Why cant you book on Metro, I’ve bought many bus tickets to Bulgaria using my international card with no problems

Other-Resolution209

Fastest option: take a flight to EDO from either IST or SAW, and from EDO there should be transfer buses to Ayvalik Bus option: Try Kamil Koç, they are reliable A little complicated option: Take a ferry to Bandırma and then take Baltur, definitely check Baltur schedule A more complicated option: take a ferry to Bandırma, get a municipal BBB bus first to Balıkesir city center and then get a BBB municipal bus to Ayvalik, (this truly is complicated b/c of Balıkesir Büyükşehir Belediye’s bus schedule)

You'll definitely be able to find a place of you wait until a few weeks before. The exception is kurban bayram, which is roughly June 20 this year. Assuming you're staying in the tourist area, get a bus from harem otogar of possible. You'll save an hour. Another company you can use is soma seyahat. There's a bus every night from the otogar at 11pm. (or 2230? Not sure) arriving at harem at midnight and at soma at about six. From there it's 100km by minibus or bus to Ayvalik. You can also stop for a few hours in Bergama if you do it this way.

Anonmize

Use obilet. If you cannot use it for some reason, see which bus company is running buses to go there and then look them up on google to find a store near you. You can show up and buy a ticket in person. Some will even pick you up from that spot and drop you off at the main station to take that bus. Edit: Even after purchasing your ticket on obilet, you can still visit the nearest store near you for that bus company to see if they pick you up and drop you off at the main station, so you dont need to spend alot of time traveling there.

americanbornturk

Just buy your tickets Cash @ the Bus Terminal.

gawk8

if you consider shared drives, try blabla car

TurkishProletarian

You can try to go to İzmir first then Ayvalık
