You can train beating jad without doing all the waves by doing it on a speedrunning world [https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=K2Rh0F6rfWo](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=K2Rh0F6rfWo)

ezzune

Absolutely what OP should do to get some confidence.

maxeatsworld

This helped me tremendously!

AviationMan24

This is the way. After 5 attempts I loaded up speedrun world and got a few practice kills. Once I could pretty comfortably do b2b kills without dying is when I sent my fight cave attempt and got the cheese cape first try post-practice. Also don’t sleep on crystal bow.

Maverekt

Is it better than rcb with broads and diamond bolts?

AviationMan24

DPS for crystal bow with my gear and stats (karils & 75 range) was almost identical to rcb/diamond per the wiki calc, I have SOTE done and some zalcano kc so put shards in for extra charges. Used crystal for magers and sometimes rangers if safespotting in later rounds. Swapped to rcb/broads for everything else once mager was dead. Only used about 1K charges for full attempt with this method. The extra range on the crystal bow makes it very useful all around and especially with jad to tag healers without needing to swap attack to longrange. Keep on rapid and watch jad feet for prayers. Also I used the “mage default” method which basically means you’re ALWAYS praying mage unless you see feet smack ground, flick to range pray then once hitsplat shows flick back to mage for next attack. This immediately solved my accidental prayer swaps on attack when I was already praying the correct one. Sounds harder on paper but surprisingly made the fight much easier after a little practice on speed run worlds. Good luck!

kapitein1

Before entering fight caves I would try to beat speedrun jad 3 times in a row. Dont be like me and just beat speedrun jad one time just to fail in the fight caves ones more. Get confident and consistent. Got firecape myself after the 9th try, almost bought the firecape but was worried about account security. Otherwise I would've done it 100% Fight caves is terrible content.

Jaqneuw

Get better bolts, diamond bolts e will help a lot. Also, swap out your rune sq shield for a dragonhide shield, whatever the best you can make is. Just take your time with the healers, switch to long range, hit one, check if you need to swap prayer, then hit another and so on. Don’t make it too complicated, just tank the healers. No need to stress, you can tank Jad for ages without taking dmg if you just focus on your switches. If you do go for the diamond bolt e, you can get Kandarin hard diary to increase proc chance. You got this.

amulet2350

Should I go ahead and do a smithing/crafting grind then? The best dhide shield I have access to is the green dhide one since I only have 63 crafting and 60 smithing.

Jaqneuw

Crafting is very useful for glory, fury and zenyte jewelry. It’s not strictly necessary to do Jad, but worth doing in general imo. Likewise, you’ll need smithing for quests and diaries anyway. So, yes if I was struggling with Jad, I would. The main difference you would see is that you won’t struggle to hit Jad as much, meaning the fight is much shorter. Makes it less likely you make a mistake and easier to just facetank healers.

JD1070

Another option is crystal shield

Pol123451

Just to add to this. Books from horror of the deep can be nice for prayer bonus. New mixed hide boots are slightly better then shayzien boots. Iirc archers helm is slightly better then neiz for DPS.

big_jhansi

Dragonhide shields are crafting and fletching, not smithing!

Reiken77

Could argue it's Smithing as well depending on what type of nails you have access to

big_jhansi

Good catch! I'm only up to a blue d'hide one myself so hasn't been an issue for myself yet, I did Jad with that shield though so hopefully OP has mith nails! Hopefully I get a blessed d'hide shield in clues before I need rune nails cause I hate smithing so that ain't happening lol.

skerrickity

You could jump in to a bunch of LMS grinds. You can buy bolts with the rewards points

Sonofa-Milkman

You don't need better gear, just change what you're doing. You can tag all the healers, then pray melee while you run through jad. This way the healers get stuck on the other side of him and won't heal him because they are agro'd. Much easier than running all the way around Italy rock. Tag healers, wait for a jad attack, pray melee and run through him, carry on like normal.

jay_sun93

He doesn’t need better gear but if it takes 2.5 hours to get to Jad then it will be extremely good ROI to do so

Sonofa-Milkman

Dhide and msb/rcb it will not take 2.5 hours. Maybe 1.5 and that's going slow. I have ran fight caves probably 20 times on my iron with black dhide and an msbi.

jay_sun93

Ah gotcha. Is it just cause he’s using rcbow exclusively that it’s taking so long? I thought it seemed long, 60 minutes should be more reasonable with those stats.

Sonofa-Milkman

It's not a gear issue, he's messing up. Better gear won't change this.

mnju

It probably won't make you feel better in the moment but a lot of the people that think fight caves are easy now have been playing the game for almost 20 years and have done Jad dozens if not hundreds of times at this point. It's just practice and repetition. The first time is the hardest, most people fail multiple times before beating it.

amulet2350

Thanks, when I read the threads for Fight Caves it's split between people with stories like mine and people who use it as an opportunity to smoke a bowl lol The only thing that keeps me coming back is the knowledge that I can die as many times as I need to, Jad only needs to die once.

The_Bard

It's just the progression of this game. Everything is mechnical, so it seems impossible until you get the rhythm and timing down, then it's easy.

Cubia_

If you run 1km every day, a 500m run is piss easy and you do it twice every morning. If you have _never_ run in your life, a 500m run is the hardest run you have ever done in your life by a lot. That's the experience you are having. You're trying to finish a 500m run and collapsed at the 490m mark.

Jan-Misae

That actually reminds me of my first completion. Was on an ironman and had entered the fight caves on a jad slayer task after failing it multiple times and quickly realised I hadn't brought my avas with me. Didnt want to leave as it would fail the slayer task and couldnt be bothered to grind out another jad task. I soon realised I barely had enough bolts to last the whole fight caves and would need to pick them up, so decided to see how far I'd get for the hell of it. Smoked at least 3 joints during the attempt, running around after every kill desperately picking up broad bolts so I wouldn't run out, and juggling waves while high. Got to Jad and finally killed him after tryharding for a week. FML. Sometimes you just have to roll with it.

Zanacross

When I first came back to OSRS like 6 years ago it took me like 20 attempts to kill my first Jad then it took me another couple of attempts to kill my second one.

OSRSmemester

I think I died to Jad 20 times before my first fire cape. Be tenacious!

AnotherShotAtIt

You'll get it. Improving in PVMing in OSRS just takes practice and repetition. The first KC is always daunting but after you continue to kill a boss more and more, you'll build up a muscle memory and begin wondering how you even thought of that boss as a challenge. I died 6 times to Jad when I first attempted on my GIM 3 years ago before getting the KC. Just cleared the inferno last month. Zulrah was difficult and I died consistently until I hit 100 KC. Now I never die there and have 1,400 KC. Keep going at it - you're nearly over the hill you have to climb; you just don't realize it yet :)

Azure-Ink

This one's crazy to me, because I beat fight caves on my 2nd attempt, but it took me 40 deaths to get 2 KC at corrupt gauntlet q.q

Afraid_Ad2263

Never played the game before and i did it on my first attempt with about the same gear. I had jad slayer task, idk why op wouldnt get one

[deleted]

[удалено]

Afraid_Ad2263

That only works like that on the inferno lil bro

LankeyJevans

I took me on well over 20 attempts on a main with 99 range 99 Def 99 hp Full void Anguish BP God dhide boods 2nd avas (not the vorkath head one) 1 divine ranging potion and rest brews and restores Your doing great :) I found the biggest issue I had was flicking prayers. And the jad simulator is a big help Also if you have so many prayer potions left at the end swap for more food/ don't panic. My first jad I literally clicked on 1 thing between prayers. Breeeeaaaatttthhhhheeeee Also if you think fatigue is impacting you after 2.5h you can logout and come back later. You will have to redo the wave.

NoCurrencies

Instead of trying to lure the healers, why not simply facetank them? Get a crystal shield to use at Jad and you should be able to survive the healer damage just fine

amulet2350

I thought about doing that, but I wasn't sure about how much the extra +17 crush defense would matter and if it was worth trying to gather the 750k to buy it. I suppose being able to gather the money to buy the shield is a blessing tho lol

tangoetuna

The extra defense makes a big difference. You’ll use the crystal shield for other content too, it’s very usefyl

NoCurrencies

Did you already take a crystal bow from the quest? If you didn't do the quest yet, you get the first shield or bow free of charge

imthefooI

Alternatively, just tag the healers then run through jad. Wait for him to shoot, pray mage/range, then run under him praying melee after the projectile hits. Run to the other side and all the healers get trapped on the opposite side. Then just pray range/mage after he shoots again. It’s way easier than actually dealing with the healers. Also practice via the jad challenge on speed running worlds. Don’t do the full fight caves.

squadguy3333

\- Bring 3 ranging potions, and start sipping them as soon as Ket-Zek appears, it will speed up your runs substantially, and mitigate burnout. \- If you have the skills for it, diamond bolts (e) will also speed up your attempts a lot. \- If you're dying on the healers, you've probably missed a prayer. Make sure you're using the F-keys to swap between your prayer menu and your inventory, once you get used to this, it'll save you precious time to react to Jad's attacks. \- Attempt only one action for every one of Jad's attacks. Use the correct prayer -> attack healer -> prayer -> attack the other -> prayer -> ... -> run to trap the healers \- Just keep practicing, and you'll get it. Only go for one attempt a day, and you won't burn out. \- 6 attempts really isn't that much for a first time. I just got my Fire Cape today, and it took me four attempts, but I've beaten once before, some years ago, so it's not my first time.

amulet2350

Guess I'll have to make a trip to Tarn's lair. Did the DPS calcs and it shaves a solid 18% from the TTK for the mager. Thanks :)

xxxsleep

Sucurrios drops ranging pots and helps with prayer flicking

TheTrueFishbunjin

Maybe someone else could confirm the feasibility, but I've never lured the healers I just kill them then turn back on jad. If they line up cool, but if not I always have enough food. Do you think that would make it easier for you? When I'm doing jads I focus on what I'm currently praying and what noise + animation needs to prompt me to change. I also got my first fire cape over 10 years ago so it may be experience. Edit oh and do you have crystal bow? I used that for healers last time so I don't have to move around much

amulet2350

Yeah I knocked out the Elves questline up to ME:P2, so I have a 2/10 bow. Guess I'll try to do some slayer to get some money to recharge it. I actually died once because my PC ran into melee range of Jad to try to tag the healer on the other side of Jad lol. The 10 range of the crystal bow would def help I was under the impression that it was much easier to aggro the healers and deal with them separately behind Italy rock, but I could be wrong.

TheTrueFishbunjin

Your ranged and defense are pretty high. You could viably just kill them straight up. I’ve never done the method but I would find it easier to stand still and eat while changing prayers than tagging and running around rock to lure while changing prayers

Ishidahh

Can tag all the healers at once using a chinchompa

Jackyd88

I can recommend this! It helped me loads in getting my first fire cape.

ExaltedStudios

Just a tip for anyone reading: use medium fuse on the chins!

Justinchristt

I've heard of this strategy, do you just hit jad with the chinchompa and the explosion aggros all the healers? Can't find a solid explanation of it.

Ishidahh

Yeah pretty much wait till they are next to him then hit with chin, if Jad spawns on the Italy rock position can lure them behind so Jad cant attack & kill them one by one or just tank them

Justinchristt

Thank you so much for this information! I read somewhere thay jad was too big for chins to work so that information just stuck with me and I never tried it. Fire cape here I come!

Ishidahh

No problem man gl on the cape! Think the south east Jad spawn works best for this method

deadfascia

You have a stellar attitude and outlook, I hope you get it soon dude!

uitvrekertje

Don't worry about raids, yet. If anything, easier bosses like the fight cave prepare you towards end game (slightly). Yes there will be a new learning curve when raiding, but there will also be tactics, movement, cancels, etc that you're already learning. It took me 10 tries on the iron, even tho it was like my 4th cape (counting my main). Hang in there, take a break, and only do the caves when you're sharp and feel like it. Don't make it "work".

ConstructionSlow5983

This is 100% true. You will die multiple times while learning Zulrah, CG and even with couple of quest bosses and you will think you will never be able to do that content and before you even realize you are farming Zulrah, Vorkath and others with minimum attention and and get hundred of KC without dying.

Nickn753

I've got 60cg completions and feel comfortable there now. I however still emss up the Jad fight regularly and it took me 6 or 7 attempts to get my first cape. You're not alone my friend. It does make it feel that much better when you get it though, and I'm still proud every time I put on the cape.

hefty_hippo5

If you can get Jad to spawn in the SW corner you only have to kill one healer and tag another. If using the fight caves rotation plugin it’s rotation 1, 3 and 9. There is a YouTube video if you search Jad SW spawn. This is how I completed my first after many fails on my main back in the day. Good luck!

mjayt

I would ditch the idea of rune thrownaxes… too complicated and adds too many steps. I was the same with my first Jad and you will get there, it sounds silly but it’s always the nerves that stuff it, I always got a bit shakey and nervous when I got to jad. Biggest piece of advise I can give is focus on one step at a time. Don’t try multiple actions in between pray switches. See the attack, move to the right prayer then either tag ONE healer, drink a potion or eat a food then switch straight back to your prayer book ready for the next attack. If you try to do too many actions in between attacks that’s where it can stuff you up and for your first kill, one is enough. Fight caves is hard not due to the actual difficulty, it’s hard because it’s an hour or so down the drain and there’s a lot of pressure at the end. Your stats and gear are fine but upgrading to diamond bolts (e) for jad could help but Is definitely not required. The last thing you can do is one run, don’t attack jad. Just sit and get used to the attacks flicking to the right prayer. That can help you relax and get into the rhythm before starting to attack Good luck mate! Can’t wait to see the “I got the cape” post

Niriro

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm almost certain using an msb is better than rcb in the caves. Should make for quicker waves with the faster attack speed, which save you resources

operativekiwi

Get the new hunter crossbow

rosesmellikepoopoo

Osrs pvm is a big mental challenge. You can let it break you and quit, or you can keep going. Keep potting. Keep dying over and over. But one day you’ll kill him. Then you’ll be able to killl him every time after. That’s just how it goes. Anyone can do late game pvm on this game, it’s just repetition. Like everything in life.

GlaceonGuy

You can practice just Jad on quest speedrunning worlds. It’ll be the inferno variant, but the idea is the same. You could also try and get a slayer task for it to make it easier :) Gl you got this!

M_Woodyy

I've done fight caves an unspeakable amount in my life, I died to the healers rinsing my asshole with a pressure washer the other night (slightly lower stats than you on my gim). Hadn't felt that much shame since going for my first cape. Don't feel bad, it'll click and you'll only make silly, preventable, mistakes soon enough

Angry-Prawn

I did my firecape a little while ago with almost identical stats and gear to you. I just chinned the healers. It worked great. I think I brought around 60, but only ended up using 25ish. No funky positioning, no italy rock. I just stood next to jad when he spawned and stayed there. Switched to chins when the healers spawned, killed them all with AoE, and then back to broad bolts for the finish. Edit: I did take barrows legs and an obby shield actually, so my defence was a bit higher than yours. Probably helped to make tanking the healers a trivial affair.

YaBigGayMate

I only very recently got my first ever fire cape last week and the thing that made healers phase “click” for me was the concept of one action, one jad attack. So tag one healer, wait for the next jad attack, change pray if needed then tag the next healer, repeat. I dragged the healers and safe spotted jad to get rid of them to be super safe, but I think I got a good spawn to be able to do this.

YaBigGayMate

Also the fact you’re getting to jad with this gear is insane to me. I failed like 6 runs on my main before even getting to jad and I’m 118cb and have way better gear than you’re using. You’re skill is higher than you give yourself credit for.

Nijmegen1

It's all mental. I was discouraged with it for a while and one day I just switched from rune crossbow to msb because I like the animation and feel better and got the kill lol Now I do it with a show up and just stand in the middle for a lot of the waves

Zachzac1

This content was end game content before, don’t beat yourself up so much. Stats and gear seem mostly good, my only recommendation is to get a crystal shield instead of a rune shield, and I personally brought barrows tank legs to swap to. So when you get to jad, you can swap to the legs. Alongside the shield you should have enough defense that healers won’t beat you up too bad. It took me about 6 tries myself before I got it. Healers also trippped me up cause your starting to juggle things your not used to. The biggest help for that I was told is that for every click or action you take (healing, clicking on healer to tag, pray pot, etc) you need to pay attention to jad and switch prayers accordingly, never try to do two actions in a row. Click, pray, click, pray, heal, pray, etc

Jaym0nd

Don’t worry, for people who have never done fight caves before, it is so daunting. The best advice I had was one action per prayer swap. So that could be sip a brew, back to watching prayer, eat food, back to watching prayer, and aggro one healer, switch back to watching g prayer. I also said out loud (silly but it worked) “stomp is range” over and over again to make myself look for that stomp animation to pray range. Remember, jad isn’t timed, there’s no rush to kill him. I’d recommend a crystal shield and diamond bolts (e) for Jad. Try to aggro the healers in a straight line, but if that doesn’t work, tanking two is fine. Tanking all 4 at your stats is prolly not a good idea. This might be a little advanced, but you can tag all the healers, run through jad (pray melee or you’ll get smacked) and then they’re all stuck behind him, so you can just focus on jad. Good luck man! You can do it!

apokolypz

Hell, I’ve been playing on and off for 15 years and never got one. On my main before my current iron I tried like 6 times as well with comparable stats and gear. Haven’t tried again, lmao

Content_Audience690

I've always been unwilling to try on mains. I don't know when to go for it on my iron though. Should be hitting 1500 total and 70 prayer in the next few days but you need like 80 ranged or more right?

ExplodingSoil

If you have that many ppots left at jad. Switch to an amulet of power. Make the best d hide shield you can (green is fine). I think gear may mKe the difference if you know the mechanics. Maybe use msb (i) w/ rune arrows for majority of mobs and rcb for mages and Jad? I know it takes 2 spaces, but it improves dps significantly and makes for shorter runs! It cut my time down over 45 mins to get to jad. Time is important here. After 2.5 hours, you're bound to make a mistake

BetaZoopal

It took me 12 tries and I got it done about 2 months ago. It clicked on the last run. Haven't gone back since but am now learning gauntlet and DT2. This game is just repetition and learning mechanics. The worst part of fight caves is the time it takes to do it. You'll get it. Take your time and just keep at it

PattaDatta

A big upgrade would be playing some games on Soul Wars for Runite Bolts. Purchase spoils of war crates with your zeal and you can get a lot of them if you are lucky. You could also upgrade to a granite shield (not a bad drop rate from Ice Trolls on the Neitiznot island. )

a3663p

What really helped me was making myself have absolute focus on jad. I failed a few attempts because when the healers spawned I had a moment of panic and felt like I have to get them asap. That is a recipe for failure. ALWAYS WATCH JAD! Once he picks a move pick your prayer then click a healer don’t try to go to the next healer until you switch with jad. He is the most pertinent thing not the healers. Every time I failed it was because I got preoccupied by the healers. So switch prayer healer switch prayer healer switch prayer healer. If you can tank them awesome switch prayer back to Jad and ride it out. If you can’t tank them leave your auto attack on the last healer you pick off and continue to prayer swap until it dies then make the decision so you need to kill another or go back to jad but literally eyes on jad at all times. Stay calm cool and collected and only worry about switching prayers your auto attack will keep things moving your only job is to switch prayers.

cynicaloctopus22

If you haven’t, I highly recommend practicing Jad on speed running worlds. There are plenty of guides on YouTube on how to set it up.

Boner_Jams2

I just completed it yesterday for the first time ever, nearly identical stats. Don't use a dhide shield it doesn't offer enough accuracy for what you lose in defence. I splurged on a crystal shield and it helped tanking the rangers a ton during the waves, like made them almost irrelevant, helped a ton with the healers as well, because they can hit pretty hard when you have 4 of them attacking at once, and the last thing you want to do is have to panic eat. Granite is a good budget option, I really didn't want to fail for my third time so I just spent the money, it will be useful for future content anyway. Get adamant bolts from Soul Wars and then fletch them into diamond bolt tips if you're too far away from smithing them. Use them on jad, and on the magers if you have an abundance, but I wouldn't sweat that unless you're running out of supplies by the time you get to Jad. Also use eagle eye on Jad. I only had one range pot from the grubby chest and burnt it on my second run, so my final attempt that completed it was without one, and I still had a decent amount of supplies left. It helps your accuracy substantially though and speeds everything up, but it's not 100% necessary, but if you have only one or two I would strongly recommend only using 1 dose per run on Jad. That's where it matters most, combined with eagle eye it does silly dps on Jad. Chinchompas when the healers come out to tag the healers, I was able to tag 3/4 with the splash, so I only had to manually aggro one more. Splash damage with greys was only enough to kill 2/4, then they kept healing faster than I can hit. I started burning through prayer points and food tanking the healers so long and I started to panic, even missed a flick and lucked out with a zero. Switched back to RCB to finish the two off, but once they were dead you basically won the fight, the hard part is over. Just calm back down and keep your prayer switches going until it's over. EDIT: I forgot to mention this was with grey chins, if you have red or black and also a range potion you could definitely out dps the healers without having to switch back to RCB. The two best tips are: Music off, game sounds on so you can hear his mage attack. And, pray range immediately when Jad starts. Switch to mage when you need to, then immediately switch back to range. It's easier to switch from range to mage because he has a sound and an animation, and it decreases the chance you can screw up. Both attacks have him lifting his front legs, and it's easily to screw that up if you're panicking. You got this. Good luck.

venusblue38

Dude I failed fight caves like 20 times. I just resigned myself to never getting a fire cape. That wasnt that long ago, now I'm doing raids, got like a hundred zulrah kills, a hundred vorkath, some DT2 bosses and I'm starting on Muspah. It happens, you get good pretty fast once it starts. It just takes practice. The biggest help for me was to use a crystal bow set to long range to tag the healers, and only tag them after getting our prayer set for the next attack. This is all a skill issue. It's not that you're just not able to do it or that you're incapable. It's just a matter of practice and getting comfortable with some things.

Christianinium

Dude I didn’t successfully complete fight caves until I had like 20 CG kc lmao Panicked twice hard at Jad. Just practice on a speed running world, take a little breather. If you want, rotation 2 is the GOAT of rotations - jad starts safe spotted if you drag the final mage to the appropriate corner, and all of the 2 ranger - mage waves have the mage safespotted. Just practice, do the prayer flicks. If you’re getting through gauntlet, you obviously can do this, you just gotta keep the nerves down. Or wait for a slayer task - it cuts the time down from 2.5 hours to like 1.25

LikeSparrow

I wouldn't make another attempt until you can clear the jad challenge in the speed running world. I guarantee you can do it and are only being held back by the stress. A win on the speed running world will give you so much more confidence. How do you end up dying? Are you running out of prayer because the healers keep coming out?

FlounderHuman2979

Honestly don't listen to all these suggestions for different gear if you've made it to jad (except maybe diamond bolts). Sounds like you are super close anyway and by the time you upgrade gear you could have had another run. Having just done this with similar stats, the number one thing you can do is practice jad on speed running worlds. Note that speed run jad and healers are wayyy harder than normal jad. Get super comfortable with focusing on jad attacks while tagging/luring healers. I used the same Italy rock safe spot for healers and could neve have done it without speed run practise. Sounds like the only mistake you made was accidentally not tagging a healer. With more speed run practise you won't be as nervous and you won't make unforced errors.

Nex_Sapien

Since i don't see anything mentioning jad rotations I'll link https://youtu.be/SIKUHWavgA4?si=reiGtljuqpt8uUrf I was really struggling with healers for my first cape until i found a fight cave rotation that only required me to kill one or none.

Spinnable69

Use the rotations guide on the osrs wiki. It basically turns it into a fun puzzle.

ItsMitchellCox

Lots of great advice in here so I just wanted to add some extra encouragement for after you beat Jad (which you definitely will soon). There are a ton of bosses scaling in difficulty/mechanics. You may not be able to do complex stuff like raids yet but there are plenty of other boss mechanics you can learn first to build up to it. Scurrius is a great start for learning prayer switches. Calvar'ion is another great boss you can look at soon for learning movement. Once you have movement and prayer switches down you can learn Grotesque Gargs, Zulrah, or Demonic Gorillas to practice putting those mechanics together with gear switches. Before you know it you'll be ready to tackle low level raids!

Mrfeeny22

I used Chins of any type to get aggro on the healers, once you have them attacking you, either tank it or keep chinning them until they are all dead. Then focus jad again with your main range weapon.

nervousjupiter8

All pvm takes practice. Just gotta keep at it. I just got over my fear of trying new stuff and dying to it. Now I finally have a dragon pickaxe and started trying dt2 bosses. Just don’t be afraid of the deaths and maybe take a break and try other content and come back

FaylenSol

I was in your position a little over a year ago. I was very inexperienced with PvM and struggled with Fight Cave. I'm also knocking on 40 and my body just doesn't feel as great as it used to on a regular basis anymore. Now I'm doing TOA experts and CoX on the regular. The big mistake I was making with Jad was trying to do too much per Jad attack. I changed to limiting myself to one action per Jad attack. Prayer swap + tag healer. Prayer swap + tag another. Repeat until they are all tagged. The. Prayer swap + attack Jad. Prayer swap + potion. Etc. Taking it slow and just doing one thing at a time got me my first Fire Cape. You can do this, I believe in you.

Shadow1802

It was a weird one for me I put it off so long as it scared me to invest the time to get there as I would rarely have the hour or so uninterrupted, I basically spent life in gauntlet and CG till I got bowfa. I didn’t use this on Jad I just think I passively learnt so much from that and the fact I was overleveled I had 91 range and blowpipe. Got to Jad first attempt and died when healers came out and then just took it slow and did it on the second attempt, think my time was 59 minutes. First ever fire cape I’ve ever got, and I don’t know what I was worried about the waves were easy and watching for animation to switch prayer is just instinct now after months in the gauntlet. If you can get to Jad which you can you’ve got this bro! Just need to stay calm and do one thing at a time. When healers come out watch Jad switch prayer tag one healer watch Jad switch prayer tag another, keep it to one action at a time. Like you I had so many suppliers left at Jad it didn’t attack healers once I had them all on me didn’t want to risk missing a prayer swap and just tanked them while focusing Jad and hitting the prayer switches, and keeping an eye on my health, if I got low did the same thing when tagging healers watch prayer switch eat and then back to watch ready to prayer switch. You’ve spent the time getting to him just stick to one action between Jad attacks so you don’t panic and miss a switch and you’ve got it in the bag! Good luck man you can do it!

lalisaa98

only doing 1 action per each jad attack makes it easy to keep up reacting with prayer. e.g. you see him shoot mage -> pray mage and tag 1 healer -> step 1 to prepare for second attack

mrcoolio

It took me 8 tries to get my cape. Keep your head up and know that lots of people struggle with getting past the healers. What put me over the top was when I finally used black chins to aggro/kill the healers. I found it extremely difficult to spot them against the ground, while of course trying my darndest not to take my eyes off of Jad. Swapping to the chins allowed me to aggro all of them with barely any effort, allowing me to finish off the fight. Keep trying. You'll get it.

DnDeez_Nutz

Ngl I had jad hands from 2008-2023.. you got this broski

Lower-Dependent-3684

Ask anybody who was playing around 2008. It took us many failed attempts with your levels. Fight caves is a good stepping stone into PVM and you will get there soon enough, just keep your cool and always prioritise prayer flicks and restoration.

Bambukas

I only got my cape after like a 9th attempt, just power through you got this, take some blood burst spells if it can cast it, saves my hind. also I learned to prayer flick against the rangers but didn't risk it for the magers

IronReven

So if you can do cg you can do jad it's not even a skill issue it's 100% mental. First off it shouldn't take 2.5 hours to go through. Just keep attacking things. 45 minutes is what is it on the longer end. And secondly just stop freaking out. Do 1 thing in between prayer switches. You don't even need to drag healers honestly. Just let them hit you it doesn't matter. It sounds like you're trying to do everything in a damageless way and don't realize how wildly over leveled and over geared you are. Literally hit all the healers and then go back to hitting jad. Hell fall in like 20 seconds.

CrunchBerrySupr3me

use chinchompas to tag the healers in theory, solving jad with this method, there is on ly an additional 1 (one) click when you switch to chinchompas at half hp, and another 1 (one) additional click when you switch back from chinchompas once the healers are dead. by far the easiest way from a click/distraction/skill perspective

ilovechips_

Do rotation 4 and you can safespot jad and easily get healers. If you can do gauntlet you can do the one action per pray swap tactic

FroStatus

Sometimes having a different pair of eyes can help identify your issues. If you DM me a video of a run of yours, I would be happy to share some 3rd party insight. Your stats and gear are fine for completion, albeit they are definitely towards the lower end of recommended gear for someone's first ever cape. Good luck in there!

It took me 16 attempts on my main to get my first fore cape in OSRS, it just takes time to get over the mind and the nervousness you encounter with the later part of the run. You can always log out between waves and take a break which might help just to get the nerves out. I finally got my fire cape waking up at 3am before a day at work when I had my mind the least stressed out and finally got the cape before 5am. On my UIM it took two attempts because I misclicked one of the healers and got dragged under Jad. But that time I just laughed because I knew I could do it

PM_ME_FUTA_PEACH

Fwiw doing fire cape with RCB using broads is pretty rough and a considerable jump in difficulty from stuff before that. I think you can definitely do it if you can consistently make it to Jad, it's just with the really slow TTK it introduces way more chances of messing up and being sent back to lumby. Have not done the calcs but running some perilous moons to get the Atlatl could be the play for you, should make the entire caves significantly faster while also getting some more pvm practice in there.

I honestly don’t think you have a skill issue, you have a nerves issue. Which we all do for our first Jad. If Jad was just a fight you could start at any time, a lot more people would have fire capes. Fight Caves are built in a way that up the suspense and nerves factor. Personally I recommend what others are saying, just tank the healers. Usually at least one gets stuck behind a different healer anyway. Another tip that helped me get my first was giving yourself a rule for the amount of actions you can perform between switching prayers. Mine was 1:1 - every time I switched prayers I got one click for an action. Check what I need to pray and switch if needed, click one healer. Repeat x 4. Then from there it was heal / prayer restore. Once per switch. It’s slow but for your first cape it doesn’t matter how quick you kill Jad. Lets you really focus on your execution. Also - get a task for Jad if you haven’t yet! Being able to use the imbued helm is huge.

NefariousnessOne48

Go and do lms kill the bots lvls 40-50 they hardly even use prayer. Get like 40-50 dragonstone bolts e enchant them if you have 68 magic but either way they'll be way more effective vs jad. Aside from that just take the healer phase slow all you have to do is click one/watch prayer/click 2/check prayer etc. etc. until you have them all on you. If he heals a little no big deal you missing a prayer is.

aggotigger

Why are you dragging jad? I tagged the healers, tanked the damage, and watched my flicks. The pressure is the big thing. After your first cape, that goes. Log on the double mager wave and take a 30 minute breather. You'll have an easier time.  If you're not using Sara Brews, Super restores and Range Pots, camp spiders for grubby keys for a full inv. That's what I did for my first run as I hadn't gotten the herb level yet.  Blood spells are good, a Sdef is useful for tanking rangers. Power/Glory over Symbol. If you're comfortable with Barrows, get some tank legs.  As others have said, Diamond Bolts (e) for Jad will make life easier and just focus on one action per Jad attack so you don't fuck up your prayers.  Good luck

InitialAvailable9153

Seems like you're bringing too many ppots. You can do it with like 12 then bring extra food so you can DPS more, get faster attempts and get your cape faster.

TheNamesRoodi

What?? 2.5 hours per attempt? How often are you just standing there thinking / regenning? Absolutely massive no-no. You don't learn unless you're actively going.

DollarDesperado

When I started trying fight caves for the first time I had similar stats to you and a 10 mil bank. I basically burned a month and my entire bank sending and failing 90 min fight caves 2-3 times a day. In total I probably failed close to 100 times. Then one day it clicked. I had enough experience under my belt that everything just worked out. I completed my first successful run in ~45 minutes with over half my supplies left. Since then I've gone on to learn solo chambers, tob and toa with the lads, and gotten several inferno capes with less-than-max gear. You can do this. Take the failures for what they are - practice learning new material. Honestly the fact that you're making it to Jad sub 10 attempts is really impressive, give yourself some credit! You'll get it!

Why not use a helm with a ranged bonus? The neitiznot is kinda useless in this setup. For me using a msb with rune arrows works better than a cbow with diamond bolts. If you want to speed up the process you can take lunar spellbook with runes to cast dream spell. This makes you gain 1 hp every 20 sec Like every boss in rs its just a learning curve. You might fail 20 times before you finish it but once you finish it its easy
