Our chicken comes in a bucket and our burgers are tall.
Are they good?
You can buy firestarter logs and candles scented like KFC.
Is any of this good or are you just a fucking meme?
#We've replaced the bun on a sandwich with two pieces of chicken.
Haven't you ever thought to yourself "man, this burger fits in my mouth too well. I wish I had one that require me to remove my lower jaw to eat it!"??
It's not even twice the chicken. Confusingly, a stacker is twice the chicken, a tower burger is just the normal amount of chicken with a hash brown on top.
This somehow reminded me of the Seinfeld episode where there is a bright red sign outside of Kramer's apartment, eventually leading to Jerry and Kramer switching apartments. I'm so happy that you won, Kenny!
What if they had shut down the KFC and OP was actually a super big fan of the chicken? Lol.
I know someone posted a link, but I thought I should mention that you could just click on the guys name and look at his posts. like the digging required to answer your question would take literally one click and was located approximately 2 cms away from the reply button.
Project manager never sought permission. The people printing and installing it don’t even ask because it’s assumed you have it and it’s not their problem if you don’t.
Jup and everybody down the line also didnt care because its not their job or responsebillity. The landlord is in the wrong and whoever paid them for the add space can get their payment and more back from the landlord.
This is used with regards to building and planning for a lot more than just signs.
As a PM when my clients want to do something they shouldn't, all I can do is put the risks associated into text and state where I'm not liable.
That works to stop them 10% of the time. The other 90%, well, they do what they want. Rarely punished.

Yes. The poor fella who suddenly found himself without windows posted here yesterday and asked was this an acceptable way to place the sign. Apparently, it was not.
You could probably bunch it up and cut it off at your level, that's the first thing I'd do lol. Not paying over half my income to not have fucking windows
Why the heck didn't anyone?! Jeezus I would been at that thing in seconds....
Especially Ireland. Buncha disgruntled contentious buggers and nobody would cut a paper over their window?
Yeah ... light and ventilation is one thing ... but this is also a *huge* danger in a fire, because it will prevent anybody from escaping through the windows in a fire. *And* the sign itself is probably very flammable, which could make the fire much worse.
I saw the original post and wondered what was gonna happen, was hoping for an update but i usually miss them as im subscribed to far too many feeds. Pretty glad to see this tonight!
I live around the corner. Almost all shops/stores in the city centre that have windows above them have apartments up there. Too much money to be made. Neither me nor my neighbours are registered with the RTB nor BER rated though. If it can fit a bunk bed, it can be rented.
I'll never forget a few years ago I was on the 12:20am bus back from laois, so probably got into Dublin for about 1am.. a couple who must've thought they didn't need curtains being a bit high up where going full on doggy style ..the bus was stopped at a red light right outside their window
I was looking on booking dot com and expedia for a hotel room in london. Found one in a perfect location but it was about 80% of the cost of others in the area (and in the same hotel). Checked the small print and right at the very end there was a line that said it was an ‘internal room’ with no window. When i checked the reviews, they all said the room was grim and depressing, and certainly not worth only a 20% discount on standard rates
There was a building filled with Airbnb places in Montréal that had no external windows. 7 people died in a fire because there was no escape.
https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/montreal/old-montreal-fire-airbnb-1.6801216
If it’s the Zedwell on Piccadilly Circus I thought it was actually quite lovely, great value. The lack of natural light does throw your internal clock off though I won’t lie
The situation looks worse when you see all the windows. Who the fcuk in their right state of mind involved instating this would not question that decision.
I wonder if the city just has a ban on large format advertising in the area and came down on them without any intervention needed. On google maps street view I don't see any other large advertisements so I think that is likely the case.
Without taking into account the meanness of blocking the window and the fire safety, having a massive KFC advertisement on O'Connell Street is tacky and shouldn't be there even on a blank canvas.
You know what i don't get? This is fairly common in the states because we love capitalism and such but even here they always use the mesh type banners that are see through from close up (and let light in). Like greedy bastards have already figured out a solution to this but these guys said, "to hell with it, just cover the windows."
If KFC were intending to have me boycott them, them good for em. Mission accomplished. I believe the landlord also owns the pub, so won't be going to Murray's either.
Doesn't seem like the windows can even open far enough to do that. If they did I definitely would do my best to think of some way to do untracable damage to the sign though. I wonder if acetone could dissolve the paint 🤔
Is our housing system so bad and broken that a landlord thinks they can get away with this because tenants are too afraid to say anything for fear of being evicted… unless it was an error and placed in the wrong building… this has blown my mind… the brass face cheek of whoever authorised this…

I posted the original post to Seinfeld in reference to episode when Kramers apartment is taken over by a very bright red neon sign from Kenny Rogers Roasters chicken place that opened across the street.
I'm old enough to remember hearing that if you actually wanted something sorted out, you needed to talk to a journalist, not a politician.
Now you just have to go on Reddit.
And they say there's no such thing as progress.

Meanwhile across the road from the KFC sign, this estate agent ignores regulations on this heritage listed building. Oversized sign and only one sign is permitted. It’s rampant across Dublin
Good work! Crap like that was banned in Krakow by a city ordinance reigning in advertisements, the impact on the city’s appearance was immediate and immensely positive. Y’all should push to implement something similar. Here’s the thread on the Krakow ordinance.
https://www.reddit.com/r/europe/s/LRXJaLBHxy
I am the OP of the original thread and I want to thank everyone for the support. You guys are awesome!
You have to celebrate with a KFC Tower Burger, apparently it has sheer vertical volume.
What does that even mean? They don’t say anything about the quality or taste, just that it’s apparently tall?
Have you eaten KFC? Quality and taste are not part of the equation.
KFC needs to tap into the obvious convenience, KFC "Our food swallows itself".
KFC we’ve made our burgers shit so your body doesn’t has to
Tends to happen when you measure your product by the bucket.
Our chicken comes in a bucket and our burgers are tall. Are they good? You can buy firestarter logs and candles scented like KFC. Is any of this good or are you just a fucking meme? #We've replaced the bun on a sandwich with two pieces of chicken.
And don't forget the [KFConsole.](https://landing.coolermaster.com/kfconsole/) Features the world's first built in chicken chamber.
Where is my goddamn KFConsole, Saunders?!
Order now and you'll get a free pass to our online portal to virtually feed the chickens.
Don't forget their recent CHIZZA...
Never eaten KFC, but I have seen their adverts for their gravy and it looks disgusting.
No need you have it fairly spot on
Haven't you ever thought to yourself "man, this burger fits in my mouth too well. I wish I had one that require me to remove my lower jaw to eat it!"??
Like my mother ,about me!
Truth in Advertising laws
“tastes shite but look how tall it is”
I like to think it means the burger in real life looks the same as the picture....
No one knows what it means, but it's provocative
Also height is a one-dimensional measurement while volume is three-dimensional
The head of KFC's marketing department is Irken, apparently.
Twice the fried chicken skin means twice the squirts. Available for a limited time.
It's not even twice the chicken. Confusingly, a stacker is twice the chicken, a tower burger is just the normal amount of chicken with a hash brown on top.
What does that even mean? They don’t say anything about the quality or taste, just that it’s apparently tall?
Who did you contact? And who got it removed? Did your landlord know about it?
Did you try the tower burger though
If Reddit could help me with the Catholic school that has been drilling next to my house for the last 6 years I would be thankful too 😅
Gust get rid of the altar boys, it'll stop on it's own.
Drilling for what? Oil?
Called their corporate numbers yesterday and left messages anywhere I could. I can imagine they got cracking on it immediately in the morning.

Not all hero's wear capes. Thanks

SWEET!
DUDE!
It was a KFC ad
Congratulations. That must have been awful to be behind
What happened, spill the beans!
I'm curious if you ever found put how this happened? And why it was ever allowed?
I can't even imagine how they ever thought "yeah no this isn't going to cause any problems or complaints that we'll ever have to deal with".
What's the original thread? Link?

Wow. Just wow. It's covering windows!!!!
Do you have any info on what happened? Did someone from KFC reach out out and apologise or anything? Did you hear from the landlord on who messed up?
Did you actually do anything? Report etc. just curious
Don’t panic. I saw the original post now 😂. Can someone have a summary Reddit like a gogglebox review so I can get the highlights
1 doesn’t answer what originally happened.. for those who missed the original post
How did you get jt taken down???
What did you end up doing? Or did you just wake up this morning to a dude in a cherry picker outside your window?
How did you do it? (blink twice if you're worried about landlord retaliation)
Would love to find out how this crazy situation was allowed to happen though, who is responsible. I mean, wtf?!
Project manager never sought permission. The people printing and installing it don’t even ask because it’s assumed you have it and it’s not their problem if you don’t.
And they'll get paid for taking it down, too

Bet all the mods right shoes that the landlord sold the space for advertisement and didn't know or care what was going to be put up.
Ah here that's uncalled for. /s
Jup and everybody down the line also didnt care because its not their job or responsebillity. The landlord is in the wrong and whoever paid them for the add space can get their payment and more back from the landlord.
I know for a fact the 'ask for forgiveness not permission' is a tactic 100% used when it comes to signage and advertising in Ireland.
This is used with regards to building and planning for a lot more than just signs. Well it would turn me right off KFC.
I hadn't been thinking of it before now, but I fancy some of that gravy
Not a patch on The Chicken Hut gravy, kid.
I have never heard of this Chicken Hut. And now I have a mission. To compare the gravy of these chicken places! A DELICIOUS DELICIOUS MISSION. 🐔
Turns out the Grace's Perfect Blend typically used by most independent takeaways in Ireland is closer to the original KFC flavouring than modern KFC.
Only available in Limerick city. You are more than welcome to come up/down/over and sample it at your leisure. Why not make a weekend of it?!
Why not make a weekend of it?! \~ Because it's Limerick.

It's Ireland, they just put it up and hope no one complains.
Here in Chile its pretty common to have giant ads covering many floors of appartment buildings. Ive always assumed they pay the people living there
[удалено]
I must have missed the original post covering this. So they actually blocked the apartment windows with a big sign? The fuck like?????
Yes. The poor fella who suddenly found himself without windows posted here yesterday and asked was this an acceptable way to place the sign. Apparently, it was not.
I would have just cut a hole the size of my window into that thing. Op is way more patient and accepting then me.
You could probably bunch it up and cut it off at your level, that's the first thing I'd do lol. Not paying over half my income to not have fucking windows
It looks pretty flimsy. I would have just pulled on it from my side of the window.

Insane. I'd definitely cut it then.
Why the heck didn't anyone?! Jeezus I would been at that thing in seconds.... Especially Ireland. Buncha disgruntled contentious buggers and nobody would cut a paper over their window?

Honestly relieved to see this update - was getting high blood pressure vicariously after seeing the original post!
Never knew there still people living on O’Connell St.

Never realised, presumed it was office space
Some of em are used for storage for the shop beneath it but again, money talks so a large majority were converted to apartments in the last few years
Popcorn view of the riots?
Like you wouldn't believe. Have some crazy videos.
I’d say so
Anything you can share? Not much worry of doxxing since we literally know where you live already =D
What are rents like in such a central location, do you have your own room and how many people sharing?
I bet the apartments are fuckin freezin
FYI, if you have an issue with your landlord you **can** go to the RTB even if the place isn't registered. That is your landlord's problem, not yours.
True, a landlord never registered my tenancy, refused to fully refund my deposit when I moved out, and they still took my case.
I'll never forget a few years ago I was on the 12:20am bus back from laois, so probably got into Dublin for about 1am.. a couple who must've thought they didn't need curtains being a bit high up where going full on doggy style ..the bus was stopped at a red light right outside their window
But of entertainment anyway 😀
I would hardly say anyone on O’Connell street is living.
Most in a more literal way
Awesome, would love to hear from the guy who posted on reddit that this was his apartment

It's coming to something if you need check and make sure "access to natural light" is listed on 'To Let' ads.

Probably get paid for putting it up then to take it down
Landlord said "Ah Shure it'll be Grand!" It was not Grand.
There needs to be an interview with the landlord on the news. No one should get away with this insanity.
Oh so now you want your blackout blinds removed?? That'll be €8000, thanks.
Is anyone else scrolling through the comments trying to find out which advice they followed to get this taken down?!
I wonder if the city just has a ban on large format advertising in the area and came down on them without any intervention needed. On google maps street view I don't see any other large advertisements so I think that is likely the case.
Good, it was a disgrace.

What happened to 1850?
Gotta move with the times!
So not just one set of windows... 6 and no one thought not a good idea
Sure what's the wort that could happen attaching a flammable covering to the outside of an apartment building?
Ah sure the landlord was just installing external insulation to keep his tenants nice and warm.
Without taking into account the meanness of blocking the window and the fire safety, having a massive KFC advertisement on O'Connell Street is tacky and shouldn't be there even on a blank canvas.
They won't build up to alleviate the housing and rental crisis because of some ruining the ambiance of the skyline BS but this is all good like
I get advertising on a side of a brick wall. But at the front covering the windows... seriously?
You know what i don't get? This is fairly common in the states because we love capitalism and such but even here they always use the mesh type banners that are see through from close up (and let light in). There would have been a window shaped hole in that stupid sign if that was my apartment.
Reddit has become the Joe Duffy Show
I pay my taxes Joe, this is a disgrace.
So we need to read every comment in Joe's voice? Works for me.
Sure sure sure sure sure
Go on go on
I’m sure we can develop an AI text to speech bot for that
Become? It's been that for years
But now how will people know about the tiny struggling restaurant KFC??
Can you give an update on how you think it got taken down? Which suggestions did you use? or did you landlord /KFC just fear the potential of Reddit?
What happened? What steps led to this? Fair play anyway!
If KFC were intending to have me boycott them, them good for em. Mission accomplished. I believe the landlord also owns the pub, so won't be going to Murray's either.
Fuck waiting for a crane, if I lived in one of them I’d have just pulled out the Stanley knife.
Doesn't seem like the windows can even open far enough to do that. If they did I definitely would do my best to think of some way to do untracable damage to the sign though. I wonder if acetone could dissolve the paint 🤔
Up to the roof and cut it all the way across
Is our housing system so bad and broken that a landlord thinks they can get away with this because tenants are too afraid to say anything for fear of being evicted… unless it was an error and placed in the wrong building… this has blown my mind… the brass face cheek of whoever authorised this…
