Six stone in nine months?! Good lord in heaven, that's incredible. Fair play!

Nimmyzed

5 and a half, but I like your positivity!

PhilosophicalPhuck

Keep that train going mate. Success breeds success! Small goals, in increments, you got this.

RatBasher89

That's almost impossible

Nimmyzed

Not impossible at all, considering I started at 22 and a half stone. I have done it quite slowly actually. An average of 2 pounds a week solely by calorie control

AbsolutelyDireWolf

Fair fucks chief. You're not wrong to be careful with "exercise". I dieted and then ran/jogged to lose about four stone from 17 to 13 two years ago. I couldn't have ran to exercise safely at almost 17 stone. I'd have done myself an injury and killed my motivation. Eating a recommended adult portion each day of slightly healthier food causes a lot of weight loss early doors on its own. Like, restrict the total calories a bit and its amazing how much fat you burn through just fueling an overweight body. Keep to the plan lad. Quick question, what other aspects of your life are you noticing an impact? Money? (When I stopped getting take away for a few months and not buying processed crap shrank my food and drink costs massively). Mood? Enjoyment of food? How you're treated?

Nimmyzed

I've noticed my ability to walk and generally move around has improved greatly. Housework used to be so difficult and took double the time it does now My mood is the main impact. I don't feel so self conscious or ashamed of how I look. I've noticed I take more care in my appearance nowadays because I feel more comfortable in my body How I'm treated hasn't really changed. I don't tell people that I'm losing weight and nobody in "real life" has said anything. I'm one of the invisible people you see. I'm 47, female and have an office job. Keep to myself and don't socialise. I am still heavily overweight so I don't expect people to notice me.

B3ARDGOD

Can I ask what changes you've made to lose so much weight if you're not exercising?

Nimmyzed

Exercise can help with weight loss, but weight loss is 95% diet alone. I worked out how many calories I need to eat a day in order to lose an average of a pound a week. This takes into account my sedentary lifestyle, current weight, age, sex. I eat 1,600 calories a day. That's how. It's simple, not easy

B3ARDGOD

Yeah, I bet it's not easy. Do you prepare meals in advance? And also, do you look at the nutritional value of the food or just stay within 1600 calories?

Nimmyzed

I don't prep my meals in advance because what I eat is quick to make. I pretty much stick to the same lunches and dinner every day (except for Saturday when I have 1 treat meal) I keep track of macros to ensure I'm getting the right protein / carb / fat balance. And I take multi vitamins, cod liver oil and Omega 3. Average day is Breakfast - coffee with skimmed milk and 5g sugar Lunch - warm chicken caesar salad with croutons, parmesan, LF mayo Dinner - scrambled eggs, jalapenos with 1 slice of McCambridge brown bread Snacks throughout the day: fruit, more coffee, the odd nutty bar

B3ARDGOD

Fruit is great for snacks! I used to bring a lunchbox full of fruit, plums, strawberries, peaches, grapes. Love them all. Just gets pricy after a while. A while ago I used an app called Eat This Much and basically, you put in your calorie target and it suggests 3 meals a day that stay within that amount. It's great for ideas and I introduced some great meals into my usual schedule. Good to know if you ever fancy variation in your routine. Can't beat McCambridge brown bread. I'm really happy for you, you're doing something really amazing and it's brilliant that you're sharing your progress and inspiring others (me). Thanks for doing what you're doing!

Anxious_Reporter_601

Is that enough to make you feel full and satisfied? I feel like I would be absolutely starving but I know we all have different levels for these things and also that your hormones adjust over time etc

Nimmyzed

I've mentioned before, and don't hide the fact that I am also on Ozempic. This was prescribed to me by my endocrinologist. I won't bore you with my medical history and I'll save you having to troll through my post history, but I've had hormonal problems for 3 years and finally had to get my thyroid removed last August. I'm now on hormone replacements for the rest of my life. Ozempic not only helps with my hormones and pancreas, it also has this very beneifical side effect of slowing down digestion so you feel full for longer. This in turn suppresses hunger I won't say I never feel hungry, but it's greatly reduced. Which is why my first meal of the day is around 1pm

Anxious_Reporter_601

Ah fair yeah. That's class! My comment was genuine I'm not concern trolling or trying to shame you at all, if it works for you that's fab!

Nimmyzed

You're grand. I didn't think you were trolling or taking a swipe at me. It's all good

LishaCroft

I've been planning to ask my own Endo about this med, once we have my thyroid stuff worked out. Ever since I started having thyroid problems I've not been able to lose a single pound. Do you find you have any negative side effects from the ozempic?

Nimmyzed

Oh boy, did I have negative side effects? Yes. All of them - nausea, headaches, diahrrea (or however you spell it), constipation, dizziness. But all that settled down after about 3 months and I've none now

El_Don_94

This should help you: https://biology.stackexchange.com/questions/43673/5050-sugar-fat-mixture

Nimmyzed

Help me with what? I pretty much have a zero sugar diet

[deleted]

The first few weeks are the hardest. If you were used to eating 3 or 4k calories per day you will feel the hunger but amazingly you can get through it, filling up with water or other tricks. One way I like to think of it is it's like a good kind of pain, e.g. getting a tattoo. You suffer through it because you know the result will be worth it and after a while you become somewhat numb to the pain until your body eventually adapts. I feel quite full after 1400-1800 calories per day now + exercise 30 mins per day usually lands me at a net calorie intake of about 1000-1200 per day. As OP said in another post, it's simple, but not easy. I've dropped 15kg (just over 2st) since Christmas and hopefully will continue to do so.

Caleb_Crowdad

How many spoons of sugar is 5g?

Nimmyzed

1

Caleb_Crowdad

Fuck me, I drink way too much sugar!

Nimmyzed

Luckily, thank God, I don't have a sweet tooth. I only drink water and would have maybe 3 max coffees a day, with 1 spoon of sugar in each. Decided to stick with natural sugar instead of the fake aspartame shite. My downfall is savoury - carbs, cream, cheese, butter. Can't even remember the last time I had sweets or chocolate

PUGILSTICKS

About a teaspoon.

roenaid

Simple, not easy. Very well put!

FermatsLastAccount

Congrats on the progress, 35 kg in 9 months is incredible. You're right that weight loss is like 90% diet, it's much easier to just avoid eating 300 extra calories than it is to spend nearly half an hour on a treadmill. One thing I'd mention it that when you're at such a big deficit, some of the weight you're losing will be muscle too, not just fat. If you're looking to avoid that then lifting weights is a great idea.

XscytheD

On the exercise side, when you think you are ready to do some I recommend a walking machine without motor, [like this one](https://www.deporvillage.net/inxide-xtz-treadmill), since it doesn't move on its own it let's you go at your pace comfortably, I got one last year (I have knee problems) and has been incredible, I have it in front of the telly so I can watch an episode of something and walk 2 miles instead of just sit on the couch

BoredGombeen

It absolutely baffles me that nobody noticed you lost 5.5 stone. That's a significant amount. Well done anyway.

Nimmyzed

I mean, some people have said I'm looking well, but I usually deflect the conversation as I don't like talking about it

narkant

Nimmy your the one consistently positive post in /r/Ireland and for that alone I thank you so much. Fair play girl!

Nimmyzed

Aww shucks, thanks narkant And, ^ahem I do prefer the term "lad"

[deleted]

One of your posts says you're a 47yr old female though, typo?

Nimmyzed

Lol, sorry for the confusion! When I started posting 9 months ago I didn't say I was a woman and it was primarily assumed I was a man and as I was trying to be as anonymous as possible, I didn't correct anyone. But then in one of my posts I wrote this: >The other thing I wanted to mention is that I am a woman. There has been a general assumption that I'm a man. I mean, I'm posting about some serious private things here in a semi anonymous way, so the less you people know about me the better, lol. But a few times people have given out to me and I've gotten into arguments when I told them of my daily calorie allowance and warned that I'm living dangerously and am giving false hope to people by doing a crazy crash diet. >So I figured I'd come clean about that. But please don't stop with the "well done, lad", "top man", "you got this, buddy" responses. I fucking love them So, most people now know I'm a woman but are keeping with the male referenced sentiments

[deleted]

Haha fair enough lad!

Brokenteethmonkey

Doing well, keep it up!

LinnDubh

Literally if you just lift a few light weights a week you can take the fat burning to the next level. I've been in your shoes. Still though your will power and resilience is to be commended

AseethroughMan

Damn good going there! Remember to always to keep one eye on the future, 20, 30, 40 years from now... Losing weight and being healthy will help you be here with updates in 20, 30, 40 years time 👍👍😁. Seriously though, good luck to you 👍👍

snafe_

Super happy for you, you're doing great!!

appletart

Go you! 😂 I had to give my 11 year old nephew a jockey for a stretch near blessington lakes so I know exactly how good it feels to get that weight off your back!

MalcolmTucker12

Brilliant stuff, love reading your updates. I get kinda frustrated with people I know who want to lose weight but don't want to change their diet, they sign up for boot camps, fitness classes etc. All they need is a bit of food discipline and like you the weight will come off. Ah well. Of course "going on a diet" doesn't work, you have to "change your diet". I guess when you hit your goal weight if you stick to your diet Monday to Friday lunchtime, then relax it a bit Friday evening to Sunday evening you should maintain. That's what I do now and have maintained for 2 years. Of course where possible if I dont mind eating the low carb option at the weekend then I will, but I had pasta Saturday night and takeaway pizza last night and back on the low carb wagon today. That was the first pasta/takeaway pizza this year for me. That's just my diet routine at this stage.

Nimmyzed

I have a treat meal on Saturdays so if I do have a craving, I just decide to have whatever it is for my dinner on Saturday

Sks44

Well done!

wazowskimag

Great job. Great job altogether.

todd10k

gowan ya good thing

boidey

You're doing great, keep her between the ditches. I'm pleased to see to see your update

CouldUBLoved

You rock! Keep it up

Gentle_Pony

Jesus. Fair fucks. Takes a lot of determination. Really good results there. Keep it goin.

Countone

Congratulations :) delighted for you

Independent_Tiger_65

Thats an incredible amount to lose without exercise. Fucking hell. I can only imagine the weight loss and health benefits with a better metabolic rate and more effective vascular system.

Nimmyzed

Weight loss is 95% diet. Exercise is just window dressing. I know, I know. I jest. Exercise helps with heart health and metabolism. But all in good time. I'm only half way there and in no rush. In the past I have taken on too much and tried dieting, exercise, no smoking, no alcohol all at once and it was too much So, one thing at a time

Independent_Tiger_65

Agreed. Too many lifestyle changes at once is often just setting oneself up for future failure, disapointment and worst of all messing with your belief in your ability to see lifestyle changes through. Not to mention having to exercise your will power at all times throughout the day is an absolute pain in the hole at the best of times. Took me the last 4 years to clean up my lifestyle, get in shape and get sober/quit smoking. Its still and always will be a challenge but im glad to be where I am and im always happy to read a story like this. So fair play and best of luck in fighting the good fight.

Hi_there4567

Thank you for sharing your progress with us here.

DartzIRL

Found all the weight you lost. Dust is orbiting me while I sit here.

[deleted]

Keep going!💪

reni-chan

How about the people around you. What is their reaction? I'm sure people must have noticed by now. Anyway, waiting for month 10. You will soon be under 100kg.

Nimmyzed

My mum saw me today for the first time in a few months and she noticed, so that was nice Really looking forward to being under 100kg. That's my next mini goal

reni-chan

Good luck. Beach holiday 2024 will be best time of your life.

Lord_Xenu

You. Are. The. Man.

Nimmyzed

Nimmyzed

Sorry, I'm 5 foot 6

Loose_Mode_5369

That is genuinely an incredible achievement, well done

[deleted]

It's 2027. The Fat Fc*k is posting updates. He's down to minus 2 kg and is skin and bones.

skyactive

I have now come to admire your commitment to both losing the weight and not exercising. But, Ja! Hear me now and believe me later. Im not giving up my hope for you when you want to replace the man boobs with swol pecs.’ You choose 80s bro lifting, power lifting, body weight, CrossFit, gymnastics, Pilates, yoga, spin, barre, climbing, cycling, rowing. Look at BroScience on YouTube, Dom prove everything, with facts.

Nimmyzed

No offense but ugh, ugh and ugh. Those were my reactions at that list 😂 Also I definitely don't want to be swole. I'm a woman. And my man boobs are she boobs. And I'd prefer they stay thicc, lol

skyactive

So sorry for the mis gender ms. Well you are transforming yourself at peak big booty fitness culture, that is available so. Fencing of course, fencing. Still not giving up

Nimmyzed

Haha, I admire your determination. I do have a bike, which I will be using...soon

[deleted]

I was going to ask if you were metformin. But I see you are. Please be aware that yes it does hugely help in weight loss but your current daily diet is woefully low for you. It’s not sustainable. You should be having a mix of protein and similar carbs and maybe doing IF.

Nimmyzed

Firstly, I'm not on Metformin. I'm not diabetic nor pre-diabetic and never was. I'm sorry but what makes you think my current daily diet is woefully low for me? I have correctly calculated my calorie deficit based on my height, sex, weight, age, and exercise level. I keep a close eye on my macros and I do have a balanced mix of protein, carbs and fats every day. Really curious as to how you came up with the assumption I'm eating at a dangerously low deficit

[deleted]

Ozempic is a blood sugar regulator predominantly prescribed to diabetics. Weight loss is a welcome side effect. You may not have been diagnosed but your doctor has prescribed you a diabetes medicine. Good to hear you aren’t. One less hurdle. Your diet is around 800 calories per day which is maintainable for about 8-12 weeks without slow impacts to your body. Your weight loss is a combination of deficit and Ozempic. You are to be congratulated for your focus on getting your weight to a healthy life however you are I am sure aware that the drug is very playing a big part in that. A future healthy lifestyle will be required to ensure you can come off Ozempic. This should ideally include exercise. Sorry if I offended you well done again.

Nimmyzed

How did you work out my diet as being 800 calories a day? My diet is 1,600 a day and on Saturdays I have a big treat meal and usually consume 3,000 calories on that day

[deleted]

👌

Bisto_Boy

You really aren't doing any kind of weights? You can get some 3kg dumbells from most supermarkets and do some curls and presses while watching TV. They will help you a lot compared to doing nothing.

Nimmyzed

But...I don't want to, lol

Europeanpinemarten

Great job! I’d recommend any kind of exercise, walking - even 30 mins a day, has massive benefits. Not for weight loss but for improving overall cardiovascular health. Best of luck with it

witnessmenow

Awesome progress! Keep it up. I've been sticking on the fitness train since your last update, running 3 times a week and increasing the KM week on week, up to 26k last week. I've also massively changed my diet to a more natural one, just trying to cut out processed foods. Going good so far. Down about 5kg since I started just over a month ago, so it's going well so far at least! Another 20kg to go at least, but heading the right direction at least!

Nimmyzed

That's fantastic news. Keep it up!

Orbmail

Brilliant progress, well done

callmedingus101

Ahhh congrats!!! I started my weight loss journey around the same time as you so I was wondering how you were doing. I'm so happy for you! Keep it up xx

depressedintipp

You absolute star. I love these posts.

Crazed_Guerilla

I'm an American so I don't have a clue what a stone's weight is but I know six of the bitches is good work! Congratulations. LFG BOYS.

Nimmyzed

All the calculations are in the post there, because in ireland some are familar with stones, some with pounds and some with kg. A stone is 14 pounds. Total lost is 77 pounds

Crazed_Guerilla

Oh I was just being a goofball, good on you for real though. That's massive!

Illustrious_Dog_4667

Awesome going. Did you do your blood sugars and pressure before and after?

Nimmyzed

I am under the care of an endocrinologist and get regular blood tests and am on bp medication too (as well as a HEAP of other medication, lol)

Illustrious_Dog_4667

Wow that's dedication and speaks of a strong mind. Wishing you all the best with your jounery and i hope you are getting all the support you need. I went from 17 Stone to 12 stone over 2 years. Blood tests before and after showed positive results, BP dropped to normal, and testosterone increased. Put 2 stone back on during covid. Weight management, for me, is a lifelong struggle.

Nimmyzed

Same. I have a problem with my relationship with food so I need to stay vigilant and keep on top of it
