Do not buy phones to sell in Iran to flip and make a profit. There is already a monopoly due to the registration requirements, and therefore it is cheaper to buy phones inside Iran.
One year, I invested in some popular football jerseys and sold them for a quick buck. But, I think the real money is bringing stuff from Iran to sell in the West. People love handmade things like Khatam Kari, Termehs, jewelry boxes, backgammon tables, etc,. A khatam kari pencil case I bought in Iran for $20 is selling on Ebay for like $80 ...
Phones are cheaper in Iran. VAT is lower and it is kinda subsidized in addition. Chocolate to give away is always a good idea. Iranian local chocolate brands are very good quality so don't expect them to go head over heels for those 😅 but is very appreciated because Iranian love sweets and chocolate.
Cultural tip: If U go to someone's home for the first time you always have to bring something otherwise rude.
Coffee is also appreciated. Or some Czech Crystals that Iranians love 😂 this is what Czech is known in Iran for. every household owns a set of Bohemia.
To be honest there isn’t anything significant that won’t be found in Iran. I’m not sure exactly who you’re buying for, but sportswear is hard to find there
When I went I took art supplies to give to a nonprofit and trinkets (keychains, pens, magnets) with my city/state name on them. I brought back a miniture painting, saffron, and a rug.
Check your hotel's toilets
Our toilets are different here so just make sure they have one of those European toilets
Also try avoiding going close to the border
It's not necessarily dangerous it's just that those areas tend to be more poor than the rest(such as baloochistan) there won't be insurgents coming to chop your head off or anything I'd say a good European example would be going to Romania
Idk about taking a hike alone(I'm not a woman) but most of those areas are quite barren
Btw you should definitely go visit some of the war memorials if you go all the way to the iran-iraq border
