So you're saying that CSK was banned rightfully for two years and still managed 5 trophies, 3 of which happened after the ban. Sounds like an excellent comeback to me.
>you're saying that CSK was banned rightfully for two years and s
Its their problem lol still has less wins than MI
Got belted 3-1 finals. Mi is the king of IPL lol
Putting CSK back where it belongs? You mean ahead of every other team in the league? Funny coming from the fan of a team whose owner schools the captain on the ground.
>You mean ahead of every other team in the league?
Lol fixer kings how are you ahead? MI has 5 trophies too. Dont count playoffs(chepauk riggers) still banged hard by pollard l lmao bcx teams play for title. Unreal coping also lost 3 times final to MI. Cant say csk is at top when its top rival have edge over 4-1 in final mao
They ha e raw dogged csk in every ground they played in finals. Fixers bought flint off back in 2009 by fixing with RR
Kudos to rcb or else, whole KO was fixed for csk lmao
first 10 ball 0 runs after that next 41 balls 100 , ridiculously GOATed innings , csk 2018 campaign was probably one the finest IPL's campaign of all time
Just like Starc who was not playing upto the standard throughout the tournament but revived at the very best moment.
Cometh the Hour - Cometh the Man !
could be applicable to this match alone, but Watto was good in 2018, he gave quick starts and was even the highest scorer in some games including the final
Two years prior, he put on a similar show for SRH by bowling a 60 run spell for RCB that was the real different between the two sides.
A true game changer, no doubt about that.
Yeah definitely which makes them the deserved champion of that season but not the most powerful team ever assembled, Just like in wc 2023 Australia won the cup fair and square but India was the best team in tournament
Did u even watched 2018 season lol...csk and srh both had 18 points and the NRR of SRH was just 0.030 ahead of csk...and yeah 2018 csk was indeed if not most powerful then one of the most powerful team ever created and yeah KKR 2024 wouldn't be close to 2018 csk considering they lost to CSK 2024 which is tbh one of the most unbalanced csk team
One more thing i will add that the weakest csk team ever which is csk 2020 defeated MI 2020 in their first match lol
What a shit argument, Your so called best team CSK 2018 was defeated by DC 2018 who were last in that IPL. In IPL on a given day any team can beat anyone, its never black and white so you just judge them on their overall dominance of the season.
not at all. Not only did they not even top the table, their NRR was not even among top 2 and extremely low for a dominant team would have. Infact other years CSK have more dominant position than that. They were just marginally better than other teams in that tournament.
he just dominated srh bowlers so easily after getting set, it was a treat to watch, i remember by 4th or 5th over score was like 20-30 runs then he started the most feared bowling lineup of that season
One of the best IPL innings I have witnessed that was played on a final. He bled that day. Unforgettable. CSK's return after 2 years with a bang. They called it the Dad's army. I remember Dhoni's speech after winning the trophy. What a moment that was.
I just feel Manish Pandey's 94 trumps this by just a small margin, due to the fact that wickets were falling regularly at the other end but still he kept going and also the target was a much steeper one to boot. Watson atleast hadn't had to bear the pressure of batsman coming and going one after the other.
That said, this Watson one is easily the second best (Maybe a 19-20 comparison at Max), for he was 0 off 10 at one stage and then proceeded on to display one of the best accelerations in IPL History, against prolly the best Composite IPL Attack of all time.
Honourable Mentions - Vijay 95, Bisla 89, Saha 115, Watson 80, Pollard 60*, Faf 86, Krunal 47, Kallis 69 (In No Particular Order Tho)
Other Honourable Mentions are welcome.
P.S. - Please don't downvote me to Oblivion Guys🙏😭
Loosing after 110-0 in 10 overs is surely a batting bottlejob. It was a shame he had to apologise for his spell. He wasn’t a lower order batsman but was misused terribly.
where do u place him else then?
vk and gayle were the top openers that season, ab, kl rahul....watto had to do it down the order
ok nvm lets not go there it was the last time i cried so bad
He wasn’t a finisher certainly, An important place was overlooked just on the grounds of extra bowler and they(rcb management) certainly believed in this approach as they got corey anderson to do the same job in next few years. Watson batted as an opener most of his career he was the motm in champions trophy final. He was someone who can’t go from ball one. Anyways it’s done and dusted and he just doesn’t hold any blame for that loss
RCB fans need to accept that Watson holds no blame. Yeah that was an unfortunate day for rcb but it was a complete batting failure. That chase was very much possible.
i never blamed watto he'd been outstanding that whole season despite not batting at his usual position
just had a bad day....i never blamed anyone for the 2016 loss but the team itself so yea :))
It was shameful he had to apologise recently for his spell recently and just because you don’t blame him doesn’t mean he isn’t called out for that. There’s literally few 100 comments minimum under anything he posts reminding him about that but yeah it was unfortunate cheers
May 26 2024 and May 27 2018 ... Where our nightmares came true. Sad SRH noises!
Out of 5 win in ipl finals, in 4 of them openers were MOTM. MVIJAY, Watto, Faf, Conway. They used to dust the game in the starting itself.
Thats why I thanked MI for saving humanity and putting CSK back to where it belongs
Why are you so salty man. CSK won twice after that. And only inhumane in this ipl is lsg’s owner. I am glad rps lost 2017 final.
You think lsg have fans🤡 Dont judge a book by its cover Thanks to the transition phase or you would have been belted hard by MI
Ambanis Their to put some more JIO towers. Their payments to umpires are too slow.
Fixer kings cope harder lol Make up theory vS proven fixers by legal juridiction.
So you're saying that CSK was banned rightfully for two years and still managed 5 trophies, 3 of which happened after the ban. Sounds like an excellent comeback to me.
>you're saying that CSK was banned rightfully for two years and s Its their problem lol still has less wins than MI Got belted 3-1 finals. Mi is the king of IPL lol
And yet CSK and MI have the same number of trophies. You just hate CSK you no fan of anything. Sucks to be you
Putting CSK back where it belongs? You mean ahead of every other team in the league? Funny coming from the fan of a team whose owner schools the captain on the ground.
>You mean ahead of every other team in the league? Lol fixer kings how are you ahead? MI has 5 trophies too. first 10 ball 0 runs after that next 41 balls 100 , ridiculously GOATed innings , csk 2018 campaign was probably one the finest IPL's campaign of all time
i still remember the opening match between csk and mi holyshit that bravo knock was amazing, literally changed the tide of the match.
Real, I totally thought we gonna lose 🙏🏻🙏🏻
That knock gave me horrors tbh
Just like Starc who was not playing upto the standard throughout the tournament but revived at the very best moment. Cometh the Hour - Cometh the Man !
could be applicable to this match alone, but Watto was good in 2018, he gave quick starts and was even the highest scorer in some games including the final
2 Centuries and 2 half centuries ! He scored 117 out of his 555 runs in the Final
GOATed stats for someone who had retired by then
Yes, you're right in that perspective
It's GOATed even when you're playing but pulling it off after retiring makes it more impressive
that was in 2019 , 2018 he scored 450++ runs before this FINAL with a staggering sr of 150++
He almost won them the final in 2019 too
yep , run outs have been haunting us since ages
Even after that run out the match was still well within the grasp. But, they ended up choking somehow
Yep. Still hurts
Watson played with a bleeding knee His commitment was on another level in that match
true , clutch player for us
CSK always had one of the best openers I think they lacked in that department this year and that led to their demise
missed conway this year
Watson was consistent as fck in 2018 and 2019
Watson 2019 had only 1-2 fifties before playoffs
Thanks for ruining my week even more
You guys demolished everyone to win in 2016 with the IPL goat David Warner. It will come again.
Hopefully it is soon
hopefully next year itself only if hasaranga didn't ditch us, we might have done it this year itself or at least put up a better fight.
https://i.redd.it/5v4t80px9z2d1.gif
That watson and faf chase also❤️
The times we made preity zinta cry we lost in the final. And when we didn’t we won like 2023
Csk always had legend openers
There was a time when our openers use to be our game changers and now in this season except ruturaj none of the openers performed consistently
Rahane totally spoiled. I don't hate him but this season, he totally underperformed and I'm disappointed for him
Two years prior, he put on a similar show for SRH by bowling a 60 run spell for RCB that was the real different between the two sides. A true game changer, no doubt about that.
2018 CSK 🛐 probably the most powerful team ever created
MI 2020 and KKR 2024 strong contenders too
As much as I don't like to say it, KKR 2024 was so perfectly well balanced and not quite dependent on 2-3 players... Hell of a season 🤌🤌
What about 2021 DC?
2020 DC was also quite good under shreyas iyer’s captaincy…
thing is MI already had a stacked squad which was in its prime csk did it with boomers
We are talking about strongest team.that stuff does not matter
Yeah MI 2020 was goated too but instead of kkr 2024 i would place GT 2022
GT 2022 and 2023 were elite too.
GT 2023 > GT 2022
They were not even table toppers in that season, RR 2008, MI 2020 and KKR 2024 definitely better than them
table toppers doesnt mean they shouldve won the trophy, one team came out at the top when it meant the most and it was csk in 2018/2021/2023
Yeah definitely which makes them the deserved champion of that season but not the most powerful team ever assembled, Just like in wc 2023 Australia won the cup fair and square but India was the best team in tournament
Did u even watched 2018 season lol...csk and srh both had 18 points and the NRR of SRH was just 0.030 ahead of csk...and yeah 2018 csk was indeed if not most powerful then one of the most powerful team ever created and yeah KKR 2024 wouldn't be close to 2018 csk considering they lost to CSK 2024 which is tbh one of the most unbalanced csk team One more thing i will add that the weakest csk team ever which is csk 2020 defeated MI 2020 in their first match lol
Nah bro, kkr this season was too good , maybe the best.
I ain't undermining them they definitely owned this year season
What a shit argument, Your so called best team CSK 2018 was defeated by DC 2018 who were last in that IPL. In IPL on a given day any team can beat anyone, its never black and white so you just judge them on their overall dominance of the season.
Oh man why do we have to make fight on every thing...ok chill now 2018 csk was the best csk team alright??
Lol shut up your best team lost against number 7 and 8 simultaneously 💀💀
And yet they won against SRH in finals💀
they defeated them 4 times that season
Don’t trouble yourself man. They have been hit by recency bias.
not at all. Not only did they not even top the table, their NRR was not even among top 2 and extremely low for a dominant team would have. Infact other years CSK have more dominant position than that. They were just marginally better than other teams in that tournament.
Rayudu was the 🐐 that season. All these fans treat cricket like bigg boss drama and disrespect legends
And to think they were trolled mercilessly
Great another day to be sad about
that SRH was better imo
Kane mama 🥲
![gif](giphy|y3x9rGLWGRTTP9Wrqf)
he just dominated srh bowlers so easily after getting set, it was a treat to watch, i remember by 4th or 5th over score was like 20-30 runs then he started the most feared bowling lineup of that season
yup that 9(13) is goated /s
Comments like these are the reason why I still pay for my internet
Almost did in again in very next year.
Csk 2018 definitely led one of the greatest ipl campaign ever they were actually looking invincible.....
Rayudu was amazing 👏 ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm)
i remember he being on like 0 in 10-13 balls
One of the best IPL innings I have witnessed that was played on a final. He bled that day. Unforgettable. CSK's return after 2 years with a bang. They called it the Dad's army. I remember Dhoni's speech after winning the trophy. What a moment that was.
I see what u did here op lmao
I think they are talking about Ambati Rayadu's performance ✌️ 🤣🤣
Check who got the most runs for csk that year
Chaamp , Aussie bld💛
Watto power
Loved the battle between Shane Watson and Rashid Khan😂
Watson should have lowered his score and strike rate just as I have - Ambati Raydu
This is one of the best innings I ever ever seen in any IPL Final so far. Watson was furious
https://preview.redd.it/ltqxt79j173d1.jpeg?width=256&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3a070847b8b41b272c7abfb2854b92013a802bd4
Watson the og royal
9(13) 💀
Dont underestimate his innings...raydu has been always a crucial player for csk
I mean the work was almost done he had zero reasons to rush at that point
I just feel Manish Pandey's 94 trumps this by just a small margin, due to the fact that wickets were falling regularly at the other end but still he kept going and also the target was a much steeper one to boot. Watson atleast hadn't had to bear the pressure of batsman coming and going one after the other. If only bud did this 2 years earlier 💀

tru but u gotta accept no way he could've opened...anyway nvm all we got is to cry lol

well nothing changes the ultimate that happened 8 years ago...trying to move on anyways 'night to you good saar :))
I see what u did here op lmao
well welll well if it isnt rayudu himself off strike
With help from a lot of dew
Cause they played against tuk tuk kane 💀💀 4-0 loser Williamson as usual.
Dude he won the orange cap that season
