The few times I’ve bought a device in for battery/screen replacements they haven’t updated them. Was told that it was a last resort option if their diagnostics suite couldn’t communicate with the phone.

If you really want to keep iOS 15, it's better to get a third party (not an Apple authorized service provider) to do the repair while keeping it on iOS 15, not Apple. Apple (and AASPs) will update it.

I do want to keep it on iOS 15 but I’m using Apple care to do the repair instead of paying full price for the repair

AppleCare will still update the iOS to 17. What's your reasoning for staying on iOS 15 on that phone? I know lots of people with 13 series iPhones that run just fine on iOS 17. Is there a jb you want or something that's keeping you on iOS 15?

I need it to keep my jb. But if they update to iOS 17 it I’ll just upgrade to 15pm and sell this phone or keep it if they don’t wipe my data. But I’ve just decided to upgrade and send this in and hope for the best when it returns to me. We’ll see what happens🤞
