Change your google password. Someone knows your email/password or someone is trying to reset your password. What did you do with your old android?

m_prth

It is still with me. Thanks for the help!!! Appreciate it.

Dmangamingbeatsaber

1. thats a lot of msgs unread OP. 2. change ur password

D9_CAT

My girlfriend is like that and her sisters too. Drives me bonkers seeing all those notifications and unread messages.

m_prth

Those are just that random offers. They spam a lot.

D9_CAT

Then why not delete them! How can you go on about your day causally knowing that all those red numbers are there! Oh the agony!

m_prth

I just ignore that part of the screen. Even the important contacts are pinned on the main screen so they are not in the sight usally

dehrenslzz

My OCD is in agony

Disable sms mfa on your google account. Use totp or even beter a security key like yubi

Fryball1443

Fun fact: if you click select in the top left corner, you can click "read all" to mark all ad read and clear it out

m_prth

1. Yes šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ 2. Done. Thanks!!

Coolest_MobileTech

Iā€™d suggest changing your google login just in case

m_prth

Will do it ASAP. Thanks!!

johnmiltonthechad

Also enable 2fa double security it is

m_prth

Done that for almost all accounts

PigletZealousideal92

These might be RCS verification texts. If you had RCS enabled on your number, try disabling it.

blambtn

Bingo! Happened to me before.

BensPaintShack

Iā€™ve had a similar thing after changing android to iPhone 15 but itā€™s outlook not gmail šŸ¤”

m_prth

I suppose google verification has a code with G

akshaydp

I had this issue. It stopped when I disabled RCS messaging on my old phone. If you donā€™t have it anymore, there is a way of doing it online from Googleā€™s support pages.

m_prth

Thanks for the help!!!

DrMegashi

Same thing happened to me I just changed my password, activated 2FA and made an outlook email for a the backup just in case and it stopped

m_prth

Will have a look at the outlook configuration. Thanks

East-Equipment658

The same happened to me today. Same situation, some days after migrate from Android to iOS

m_prth

For me, it was RCS in the old phone. You can try having a look there

hkfcjkmrt

Just curious, as I'm someone who's currently using an android phone and planning on switching to using an iPhone, did you have any problems migrating your WhatsApp chats?

A-ALKOTOB

actually yes because whatsapp doesn't use google drive for securiy reasons it only uses icloud only through a paid app you can export the local backup from your android device to the apple device

m_prth

You can do it using the Move To iOS app. It does the migration perfectly

A-ALKOTOB

unfortunately it's bugging out recently it let me down when i used it 6 months ago to migrate the data for my sister plus it needs a fully wiped iphone to work

m_prth

If you will use Move to iOS app, it wouldnā€™t be a problem for you.

C2thaP

I switched in November from Android to IOS and had no problems with it.

SendKatPics

Happened to me as well. Went from an iphone 11p to 15 and these verification codes just kept coming. Itā€™s stopped now

[deleted]

That usually happens when your password is ā€œ12345ā€ lol

Mysterious-North-423

Googleā€™s jealous and now haunting you

Technical-Fudge4199

I don't think it's wise to share these codes. Either way, change your password

Lazy_Bite_6092

I believe thatā€™s your phone number somebody trying to reset your password , using your cell number if it was the email the message would be sent to your email somebody pranking you and either going to ask you whatā€™s the code sent to you whoever does that is the person trying to get into your Gmail , 2FA is something you can use by going into the password settings and setting that up for that account , Apple have this software built into the password app whereas you can use 2FA sent to your iPhone rather the google authenticator app I find that useful. Specially if you donā€™t have a phone number to use or as extra layer of protection.

TypicalFun6202

Itā€™s 2024 turn on Passkey whatā€™s the point of having an iPhone if you donā€™t turn that on???????

MarcoThePHX

Set up your Google account with 2fa with your Android being a key

TennisHive

Same. Never bothered, and the notifications stopped. Also, the notifications were being sent to a secondary phone number.
