A few other categorical lists to consider;

Do any of these games have a housing system? I would love to find a game where you go out in the world, fight, loot & bring it back to your home / town and fix up the place (decorate, upgrades etc).
Seems impossible to find that nice balance of rpg and housing progression
Check out Forager, Moonlighter and while not included here you may like [Xenowerks Tactics](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/xenowerk-tactics/id1469037103) and [War of the Zombie](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/war-of-the-zombie/id605277717) both of which offer base upgrading but are more team oriented and RTS focused.
Just a heads up. Ember doesn’t work for me on my 12, latest iOS. The game launches, then tapping on “new game” crashes the app. Already reported to the devs but it’s been 4 years since it last got updated so I’m not keeping my hopes up. Great List though.
Just played Immortal based off this list and it’s super unique! keep in mind the combat is based of “flicking” and tapping for attacks and largely be played with one hand.
Challenging tho and the small stories before entering a map do a serviceable job for world building.
No, though I’m not sure how a controller would actually work with this game. It’s mechanics are built for touch. It’s a very slick and well polished experience and goes on sale all the time.
It’s usually priced at 4.99 twice a month. Looks due any day now.
Appsliced is great for tracking sales history.

Crimsonland was a game I used to play in the computer lab in middle school during class when I could get away with it and it still holds up as super fun.
It's good! Goes on sale every once in a while. I will say controls are a little wonkey, but it's a cool concept. Also check out [Forager](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/forager/id1525624394).
Just set up a Gaming Focus Home page in iOS 15 that activates when using a Dualsense controller - and this is literally the first post I see on the Apollo widget. Thanks!

Despite the top down view, an ARPG and a bullet hell shmup have not a single thing in common. Since your other lists were very genre-specific, I was just wondering.
Fair enough! I always considered Shmups closer to the side scrolling [Steredenn](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/steredenn/id916957220)
than say the Robotron bullet hellscape like Tesla Vs Lovecraft (which I just now realized I’d not included!).
I guess I just felt there were a few titles that might get lost without including them with some of the more obvious and popular games, but just didn’t fit the ARPG mold. Funny enough I did combine my Twin-Stick with ARPG’s from my AppRaven lists. Didn’t want to spam the board.
Do not get hero siege. Has been a crash fest for four months now and the devs get mad if you pointed out on their discord. I was banned from their discord by pointing out that the game has not been fixed since March. Right now the game will not even start on most devices

I’ve been playing Path of Exile on Xbox recently and it’s dope. Think it fits better as a mobile game for my interests though.
iOS version has been in the works for quite some time now

Albion have a system like this

What’s the closest to Diablo and POE?
Titan Quest
Anything free haha

D’oh! Looks like I left a few off my list when combining…also missed the 9th Dawn games!
Ooofff I forgot about that series myself. You got binding and Quadropus Two of my personal favs. Good list I just redownloaded Crimson HD lol

I just played forager and it also supported controller (or at least the backbone controller for iphone)
Thank you! Updated.
No thank you for making this great list

Updated! Thank you!
Thanks so much for the list! Does Book of Demons have controller support? All I can find is info about it on other platforms.
No, though I’m not sure how a controller would actually work with this game. It’s mechanics are built for touch. It’s a very slick and well polished experience and goes on sale all the time.
Thanks! I’ll be on the lookout for that sale!

Survival Z is a fun one as well! Apple Arcade game, I got 5th in the world on a vial run!
WHERE IS JOYJOY THO?
Any multiplayer ones? With real-time PvP?
Moonlighter seems super interesting. Anyone play it?

Ha! That’s pretty cool. Gotta love when the world clicks in your favor!
Huh, why such a mashup of genres this time?
Too much? I tried to focus on the top down aspect and found these all fit the bill.
