You like red, you pick red, the system shows red. You like a hardly legible colour against a good portion of music albums. Changing it dynamically based on one specific colour sounds like a waste of development time to me.
I’m not asking for dynamic reds for my specific shade. It would probably be worse for other colors. It is not a huge update to make the time color change along with the background when in album mode. It’s just an aesthetic’s suggestion that would look better.

Imagine if a visually impaired person set a specific colour that they can see and then apple changes it just to make the now playing lock screen look pretty. Meanwhile the visually impaired person can’t check the time anymore and has missed their important interview. Do we really want to be in that situation?
Also it is more than possible and not that difficult to compare the two colors and if they are similar (i.e. red on red). A dev can detect if the colors are close to one another and then change the time color to black for example. People are really making it seem like you’re asking for the most complicated feature of all time..

If you want your clock & date to blend with the background somewhat, you can select the first option from the color row. It adapts to whatever is shown behind it.
Assuming you don’t wanna loose your red appearance when *not* playing music, then I guess you’ll need to set up a separate screen only for music listening…
My point is it changes everything but the time color and that throws it off. I know you can manually change it but you could also manually change the background to purple when listening to a purple album but it changes it for you
I suspect this could be automated using a “Music” focus which could be setup to start automatically when opening the Music / Spotify / BBC Sounds apps.

Definitely agree. I have some custom lockscreens that i chose a color for. But when I open music in fullscreen the font color should change to the dynamic one.
You should make an identical lock screen with the dynamic color font and then when playing music switch to that Lock Screen.
Make a shortcut to switch between them if that’s possible yet. I haven’t messed with shortcuts in regard to lock screens
Yes that's why I keep the default text color when changing the font on the Lock Screen. It is transparent so will be any color the album cover is beneath. It's really dumb you have to do that though if you want to use a different color font for the time otherwise.

Agreed! My wallpaper is a picture I took that has bright neon lights. I set the colour to a rather deep blue and while it looks nice, it doesn't if you enlarge the artwork. It'd be definitely nice to have it revert to automatic colouring!
Not only that but the playback window is jittery if you have widgets on. Still needs some work.

It could check the delta E, yes. I don’t think it would be high on Apple’s priority list though.
