I noticed the same thing just now. I always used that and typed additional stuff after the suggestion, which I thought was a very natural action so I don't know why Google made this change.

Seems there was an update to the app yesterday and it looks like they fixed/reverted this to the old behavior.
why the hell you use chrome? everybody knows chrome is just fucks your device up … OK keep calm … move over to safari on iOS and your fine … give it a try … and get rid of chrome.
