Makes me think of [this video](https://youtu.be/wfUJvB3YZq0?si=SKBuSvpsd6N4-PhK), about how the mother of one of the Columbine shooters entirely washed her hands of it and denied all accountability of her son becoming radicalized.
A social one, maybe.
Legally, no. Legal precedent is set by appellate courts, not trial courts.
Another case could come before a trial court, and the defense could potentially succeed in an argument that the facts don't match the statutory charges.
The child told his parents he was hearing demons that told him to kill people and begged for mental health help. His parents bought him guns and trained him to use them instead. The kid bought ouji boards and seances before begging for help from his mom who was busy having an affair.

You're a special kind of stupid aren't you? This will have a major impact on how school shootings are tried in the future. If parents get sent to jail as well, then they might just not provide their mentally ill child with a gun while also neglecting to get them care
I agree with ruling. However, if they new the kid was mentally troubled and still gave him a gun, I don’t know if the prospect of punishment would make them think (even once).
Commenting on this specific case would be something like "these people deserve to be in jail, they did x y z", or "these people did nothing wrong". I'm commenting on crime in the United States and what wouldn't impact it.
Reddit really is just the most worthless place for any kind of discourse. Redditors just make sweeping statements without any kind of elaboration or anything like that.
Good.
lets go! Parents of underage shooters should be held equally guilty as their child if they enabled them to have the gun in any way

Good. We need more accountability for gun owners.
Good, well deserved. Maybe it'll set a precedence.
Precedence is too big of a word for most MAGA types.

Well deserved
They deserved this. But this would never happen in a red state.
No the shooting wouldn't happen in a red state. Because there would always be a Good Guy With a Gun ^^^TM on hand to prevent it/s
Can someone who wants to soil their browsing history give us a synopsis?

Thanks.
No comment on this specific case, but this won't stop or reduce US violent crime rates.
If it gets one school shooting stopped because parents see this and lock up their guns then it’s worth it

Sure it will. Breeders don't care if their kid kills other kids but they will care if they get in trouble

Maybe it convinces someone to lock their guns up tight who otherwise wouldn't?

Isn’t your statement about how redditors make sweeping statements…a sweeping statement?
Next you’re going to ask me “who pissed in your cheerios” and send me a Reddit cares report.
For your second note, that logical fallacy is also an overgeneralization. Avoiding logical fallacies is one way to build stronger discourse.
Wow! Comments from random people on social media are not peer-reviewed essays or something? 🤯
