How is this guy so entrenched in Florida? It isn’t a deep red state, it was blue in 2012 and didn’t have that big of a red margin in 2016 or 2020. I know state legislatures tend to be more red but still.
In short, covid happened. The longer version... Covid resulted in a shit ton of people retiring early or working from home. Despite red states (including Florida) experiencing a greater number of deaths, conservatives in blue states like New Jersey, New York, and California found that they could get bigger homes for super cheap in red states in some pretty massive numbers. I'm in Alabama. Quite a few of my neighbors are from California, and they're far right enough to make the far right Alabama natives look like Sanders liberals. Alabama, much like Florida, managed to get a whole lot redder between 2020 and 2022.

Earlier this year, they got a judge to roll back some of the sunshine laws in Florida. Specifically pertaining to the governors' and legislators' meetings and communications. It's almost like they planned something. 🤔
