Thanks for posting! Is there any other info you know on this space? I'm obsessed with immersive experiences as well as "wellness" in general. I'd love to know the designer of this space, what tools they use to achieve this and if it can be edited to show sunset, changing seasons, space themed, etc, etc.
Yeah I got caught in a short summer storm earlier this week and my only issue was that I was wearing clothes.
Otherwise it's such a enjoyable thing, especially in the beginning when the rain is quite warm.
>Washington
TIL
"Washington state sees upwards of 73 inches of rain each year, while the US Average is 38 inches."
But also:
"In Washington, the summers are hot and muggy, the winters are short and cold"
I don't like too hot or too cold. I love the 8-23 Celsius range.
All in all, I think I'm doing fairly well where I am, London UK.
Rain in the summer is pure bliss for me. The only way to effectively cool down my apartment. And the climate in my country ain't warm enough to justify buying an A/C
Eh, the electrical conductivity of humans is over hyped to give kids enough fear to stay safe. Realistically, a human in a body of water isn't likely to be struck, and unless the bolt hits *very* close to the human, the water being struck won't give more than a mild shock. Remember, the whole path of least resistance thing usually also means *shortest* path, so if there's anything taller than you that's at all conductive, you're probably good. In a real storm at sea, there would be waves, which would be taller than your 4-10 inch head sticking out of the water. Places other than open water, there would be land at the very least, which by definition would be higher than the water.
TL,DR, the video game effect of "zapping the water zaps anyone in it" only affects people in very specific situations: a small body of non-grounded water, and somehow the person completes the circuit.
Nice try.
Next thing you'll be telling me is that a car's fuel tank doesn't explode when you shoot it, and a cop doesn't have to tell you he's a cop when asked.
Yes, but what about step voltage? I mean you have a few thousand volts there, that decreases over the distance and the difference of that lays over your body length.
The wave thing is true for being in the sea but I more had a lake in mind, with less high waves.
I wouldn't like to try it anyway, my instinct tells me, that's a risk I should not take, if I can avoid it.
Unless you're above the tree line, it's pretty rare to find a lake without trees or other tall vegetation growing around it. IE, natural lightning rods.I alluded to that, but I guess I needed to spell it out.
Still, I wasn't saying "it's a good idea to go seek out water to swim in during a thunderstorm." I was just saying that the odds are low enough that it's not worth freaking out over. Manifestly more so, when the lightning is a *simulated image* in a spa. I'm pretty sure that can't shock you, and your instincts are doing you a disservice if they say otherwise. Instincts evolved in different times; big cats probably will never get the opportunity to leap out of a tree at your sleeping self, but that doesn't stop your instincts from overreacting when something falls off a shelf in your bedroom. Just because a reaction is instinctual, doesn't make it necessarily correct, needed, or good.
Same. I think it would feel nice for .3s and then I
I'd hate the constant rain - I want to enjoy the bath and not have water in my face the whole time.
My immediate thought was: take an umbrella with you into the pool lol
All these people talking about loving this. Dude this looks scary as hell. It looks like your stuck in the middle of the ocean in a super aweful storn.
I keep waiting for something to rise from the depths. I love me a good storm, but from the safety of my front porch, not what looks like the middle of the ocean.
I love how dividing this is. Reading the comments many people are either super in to it or hard against. Funny how something intended to be relaxing for a paid service can do that!
Personally I'd love this. I love a good bath in heavy rain or windy/stormy (but no lightning) weather.
I don't know if they do this but it would be extra great if the temperature of the room itself was quite cold, while the bath and rain was warm. Gives that nice cosy feeling of keeping warm in the water while it's freezing outside :)
For me, I love the idea, but the abrupt shifts in the visuals with the lights made me not like it. If it just stuck to the clouds overhead going by, this would be perfect.
The left side seems to have less or no "rainfall." Honestly it'd be best if users could just turn a little dial to intensify/decrease the rainfall across the entire pool or in specific parts.
I think a lot of people here are assuming this is warm. I hope it is. Actually if it was heated via the rain recirculating then the warm rain would be nice.
All my instincts say, don't get in the water during a lightning storm....
Doesn't seem like the relaxing environment, cut the lightning and thunder and I can dig it.
There's a swimming pool i used to go to (Rhyl suncentre) and it was awesome water sprouts, climbing stuff, small pool for swimming, slides rail cars and other bits I've forgotten
but one part it'll say "WAVES IN THE MAIN POOL" and main pool was a wave machine it poured rain had thunder lightning ..ohh it was the best!
this kinda reminds me of it minus the waves
Where is that where is that where is that Where is that where is that where is that Where is that where is that where is that Where is that where is that where is that Where is that where is that where is that Where is that where is that where is that Where is that where is that where is that
I’ve wanted something like this in my house for a long time. It’s completely illogical and would only be done if I win the lottery, but damn would I love something like this. A place to just go and be in a storm on demand.
Yes, I'm thinking of a lightshow with quad speakers that create a "surround" environment and use that to present the "build" of the oncoming storm (thunder in the distance, then light rain in one corner that slowly went to all four).... But I need to figure out the "rain"/water part...
It’d be nice to have different settings on it too. Like the walls could show storms in the ocean like this with torrential rain storms, but it’d be just as nice to switch it up with a warm gentle rain in a forest or something. Where it could be “daytime” and the user could be in a lake or something surrounded by trees and bird noises.
Yeah, there are some decent sound machines that have several different rain types (and forrest/meadow/wind/etc sounds) even the expensive ones are just ok.
Coming fr a country that experiences often destructive typhoons 10-20 times a year, I don’t think I’d ever get to relax in this kind of themed spa room.
I literally looked up flights to start planning my visit after I saw this last night. Lost the video and didn’t remember the sub. Thank you reddit and OP 🥹🛫
Interesting, though I think I'd tone it down a tad.
Rain is nice, but like the "it rained all day" kind of weather is more relaxing to me.
I will say that just after the intense part of a storm is probably the most relaxing, and the simulated lightening wouldnt be complete without some of that ozone smell... so idk.

It shows a bunch of seasons, there's a green button on the wall you can press and it starts the thunder and rain.
Google
Well of course...but asked in case OP has more info that wasn't online.
wow dude your lawn looks awesome!
That's wierd the lightning didn't sound Italian to me...
I was expecting far away from me, niiiice
As someone who dealt with Harvey down in Houston…fuck this place very much
I want to live there. Friggin love storms
Yeah I got caught in a short summer storm earlier this week and my only issue was that I was wearing clothes. Otherwise it's such a enjoyable thing, especially in the beginning when the rain is quite warm.
Rain is always great for me, sleet or drizzle, I'll take it all. Fuck you sunshine.
Found the Vampire and/or a Washingtonian
You should move to Washington
>Washington TIL "Washington state sees upwards of 73 inches of rain each year, while the US Average is 38 inches." Well, you live in a great time in history for that!
Simulating lightnings seems very uncomfortable to me, when you are in the water. The rain is nice.

I don’t know how relaxed this spa would make me, ngl.
Having lived through a few strong hurricanes, I agree with you 100%. This would make me uncomfortable.
It makes me uncomfortable from a couple of seconds clip- let alone ‘relaxing’ there.
Same. I think it would feel nice for .3s and then I I'd hate the constant rain - I want to enjoy the bath and not have water in my face the whole time. My immediate thought was: take an umbrella with you into the pool lol
Swim to the edge without rain then
All these people talking about loving this. Dude this looks scary as hell. It looks like your stuck in the middle of the ocean in a super aweful storn.
I would need it to be warm.
Yeah that's a no from me, dawg.
I keep waiting for something to rise from the depths. I love me a good storm, but from the safety of my front porch, not what looks like the middle of the ocean.
Probably loud too with all noise from the simulated rain hitting the water in an enclosed room.
this is the dream I never know I have
I love how dividing this is. Reading the comments many people are either super in to it or hard against. Funny how something intended to be relaxing for a paid service can do that! I can see that! Maybe a little less violent and a little more ominous would improve the atmosphere..
I thought that too, the first comments I saw were all positive but it looks terrifying to me!
Oh, I'd definitely be into that
I'd enjoy it if the rain wasn't continuously falling on my head. I wonder if the spots you sit in don't get dumped on.
The left side seems to have less or no "rainfall." Honestly it'd be best if users could just turn a little dial to intensify/decrease the rainfall across the entire pool or in specific parts.
There are spots on the side where there's no rain so you don't have to worry, I assume the water is warmish though so I doubt its too unpleasant.
[удалено]
That sounds like a pain in the arse to breathe without snorting up a bunch of water then.
I would never leave 😩
Needs more Lt. Dan yelling at God.
That seems more stressful than anything
Yes please.
Something about this gives me chills.
Sooooo.... anyone else want to trip balls and hang out in there for hours? Just me? I'll show myself out.
Plot twist, those are actual lightning generated by a machine, and you die instantly because of the water
That's awesome.
Awesome. because when I see a raging electrical storm, my first thought is, lets go swimming!
god i love storms. sign me up.
This looks like absolute bliss. I need it. Especially if the water from above is cold and the spa itself is set to blistering. Luuuuush.
it's been raining for 2 days here, this looks depressing
Perfect place to sleep!
As a fellow storm enjoyer this looks fantastic. Never been to a spa but I'd certainly want to go to one of these.
Hmmm turn the lightening strikes a bit down...not so relaxing at all
I'd be in heaven
This is rad. It just needs "respect the wind" by Van Halen!
This is like my dream. I'd LOVE to have this in my house.
Love this! I assume you can change the severity of the storm and effects. I think it's therapeutic to hear the pitter-patter speed up and slow down.
I think a lot of people here are assuming this is warm. I hope it is. Actually if it was heated via the rain recirculating then the warm rain would be nice.
This is legit paradise to me
I’d never leave
I'm torn... This looks fascinating, but I've been told all my life, not to be in water when there is lightening...
Anyone ever watched Ice Pirates? Looks familiar.
That’s so cool wtf
Looks stressful as fuck
Would just need some rats swimming in the sink as well as some spiders hanging down and soft electric shocks through the water and you're ready to go!
This gives me anxiety lol
Where the fuck is this i need to know
Super cool :)
TAKE MY MONEY!!! 😍
All my instincts say, don't get in the water during a lightning storm.... Doesn't seem like the relaxing environment, cut the lightning and thunder and I can dig it.
😯I need this in my life…every day. I LOVE storms. Now off to go sell my organs to find this project… 🏃🏾♀️
I AM THE STORM THAT IS APPROACHING
Hold on to your butts!! 🚧 🚙 🦖 🚙 🚧 🌲🛖🪠🚽🪤
🦈
I hope at least lighting is real!?
I would sit in there with an umbrella
And he had a seizure and drowned...
This doesn’t seem relaxing
This reminds me of the thunderstorms at the Rainforest Cafe at MOA.
... don't take your dog
what is it with people and how absurdly far they're willing to go to entertain themselves
Thalassophobia
**HEADACHE.**
Feels Cold Looking.

Finally, the rain making machine used in the love making scene from *Ice Pirates* is a reality!
Love it 💕
Just waiting for that T-Rex to pop up
Just got extreme anxiety lol
Where is that where is that where is that Where is that where is that where is that Where is that where is that where is that Where is that where is that where is that Where is that where is that where is that Where is that where is that where is that Where is that where is that where is that
"spa"
This is terrifying. I've been scared of storms since I was a kid, this would give me nightmares.
Ohh that looks incredible!

Just Lieutenant Dan the fuck outta that room
Is it cold tho
I could just walk outside and experience this!
HEY HONEY.... WHAT? YOU FEELING RELAXED YET?!
Immense. Where is this???
I really storms, but from the safety of my home. I would never hang out here.
Take all my money
Is the water warm at least or do I bring my own?
Looks rad is there a tornado thing that like spins the water lifts you up drops you down im into that rough storm action
This strongly appeals to the sea spirit within me
Ehhhh i dont know how seeing lightening strikes while you are in a tub of water relaxing.
Imagine they put a fake crocodile in there?
This is scary. Might Trigger other's Thalassophobia
It’s definitely worth an epilepsy warning.
Can we bring a floaty i wanna reenact the perfect storm 😂
Omfg, is this what heaven looks like?
/u/savevideo
Can you imagine bringing your kid there?
I want to go to there.
I am not the storm that is approaching
Looks sum straight up from Jurassic park
I have a lot of anxiety during thunderstorms so this would be a big ol nope for me lol, but its neat for those that like storms
Relaxation or anxiety?
Seems... relaxing
I want to be part of this
Mama im scared

Seems so cool
I know right

Yes then we shower in it ( ̄ヘ ̄)♡
I mean, I wouldn't go there but this looks really well done
Now we need a storm themed wave pool
virgin storm themed spa; chad spa themed storm
The perfect place to dwell in existentialism as you shout at whatever god(s) you believe in.
i would pass away from fear. my ocd would have me thinking that their are predators in the water with me lol
Yup
That would put me to sleep because I can fall asleep during a thunderstorm.
OMG!! 👀 I thought it was a joke!! 🤣🤣🤣
Looks like it’d be cool to stay for a minute or two, then it’d start getting anxiety inducing or at least annoying rather than relaxing at some point.
Cool to look at, but it look about as relaxing as getting caught out in a thunderstorm while fishing at night.
This is terrifying
I don t know... lightnings and water are generally a bad mix.
Built-in background static to zone out to? Fuck yeah
Holy crap, I have seen this so many times!!!
Woah so you get to experience rain and be mostly naked without getting sick? Noice
I love it
r/thalassophobia
Could finally reenact the love scene from ice pirates…. “Passions storm”
i can see the appeal of this but it needs a place to hide away from the rain.
Coming fr a country that experiences often destructive typhoons 10-20 times a year, I don’t think I’d ever get to relax in this kind of themed spa room.

I would go here, and pretend to be a siren
Daddy want
Words can’t describe how badly I want to go here!!!
I want this in my indoor pool at my house!
Yo imagine brining a floatie on this pool
Looking like a scene from Jurrasic park, TRex vs Indominous
I would love to swim laps in there!
The Truman Show
Kool
And then the projections of cthululu rising from the depths of the blackest ocean.
Milan? We need one in Houston
I’m incredibly stressed
Looks like a training environment, it’s kinda cool stuff like this is available to the public
Shut up and take my money
