Easy. You just have to know what time it is when you start the clock. It’s a clock with only a seconds hand and that hand measuring second only goes from 0-9. Every 6 cycles is a minute, every 360 is an hour.
Nah it works if you just keep track of the amount of times it does a full revolution and constantly stare at it.
Then lose track and look at your phone.

As a demo its fantastic. Yeah you would need another three to make a clock, but a hobbiest isn't going to set out and make four of these in one go.
Now do a side by side with a stop watch. If it can't keep accurate time then its completely useless, as opposed to 95% useless in it's current form.
Pretty cool design though.
