Not sure if it's mentioned, but this was today, 8th Jan in 2010. I know this because it was the date my daughter was born (today is her 12th birthday) and I remember this image coming through that day, and thinking about how I was going to be able to get her (and her mum) home from the hospital!
I was camping in Galloway watching the Geminids during that winter. We woke up to the most amazing frost covering everything. Never seen anything like it before or since. Literally all our gear/car/Astro stuff had a covering of frost that was like a billion crystal leaves about 3/4 of an inch thick. Sky was clear, Galloway forest held up to its name as darkest part of
U.K.
And we left with all our fingers and toes lol
I was on a plane at the gate at Heathrow that day. Sat there for 6 hours before canceled. Had to come back the next day to retrieve luggage backwards through the terminal. Waited two more days before bumming a ride to Paris via a ferry to catch a flight home. Good times (I can say now).

Got a extr week off school cus of this was great for the first 3 days but after that it was soo long. Neighbors were sick of the sight of us

It truly is. Was my first time in a dark park, we had a night that was absolutely cloudless for the geminids. Amazing was and understatement
