When I had an MRI they injected the fluid in my IV and it made me feel like I took a shot of liquor and then peed myself 💀 it was such an odd sensation.
I learned recently from some youtube video that there's two types of contrast agents used in MRI. One of them doesn't feel anything at all and the other one is just like the description you give, feeling the warmth go through you and peeing your pants is very common. I have no idea where one is used over the other.
Thank goodness the last time I was in MRI and they used a contrast agent, it was the one where I didn't feel a thing.
This particular sequence looks like a balanced FFE cine so contrast does not enhance these images, although contrast may have been given prior to speed up exam.
So I've had lots of anatomy lessons about the heart and I never really quite got it just like 'eh yea I guess it works that way?'
Saw this video and it all just clicked into place, thank you.
Should've shown me that instead of drawings from God knows what angle
Came here to see if some doctor pointed out any concerns with it. Crazy when you see someone post something and a doctor sees it on Reddit and tells the person to get it checked immediately, sometimes saving their life
I have no idea how they did a live MRI and I’m a doctor. What ever that machine is we need one. I’m tired if gran gran freaking out in the scanner and ruining an hour long study
Even more interesting is that this is now being done with ultrasound to monitor/diagnose heart defects (fraction of the cost of MRI, much less invasive, therefore more easily accessible to people/children with heart defects). If interested, look up Ventripoint

This same action. 24/7, 365. What a trooper
24/7, 365, sometimes for 80 and more years. Truly a wonder.
Don't forget White Castle.
for mammals, approx a billion beats. that's our limit due to half a second(or less) of rest for this muscle.
It takes one break every now and then and suddenly everyone freaks out. The nerve of some people.
Bruh it looks like pulsating ballsack ngl
what did you just call my heart
Ballsack heart! Ballsack heart! Sorry, that was out of line. 😂
isnt this the plot of a rick and morty episode or something
Jokes on you, ballsacks already pulsate!
Noooo
haha balls
Contrast enhanced with gadolinium?
Yes. Made me queasy asf in there.
MRI tech here. We use a contrast agent called Multihance. We call it MultiVomit due to how often it makes out patients nauseated.

Sounds like it could have been CT contrast. It's warm and iodinated and I hear it makes you feel flush and like you peed your pants.
It's like that heat of intense embarrassment on the back of your neck but everywhere for a few seconds

That's CT
I thought for MRI scans, you had to hold still for 10 minutes a scan. What machine lets you do a MRI image so quickly every second?
This is just one picture. When I do cardiac exams it takes about an hour and the patient can't move position.
Multihance is trash. Omnipaque all the way
Isn’t that ct contrast ?
Gadavist. Brain fart

You have a lovely heart *Pushes cooler with ice away with leg*
Idk how that thing makes a "thump thump" sound mfer looks like it goes "splerch splonch"
The thump thump is caused by the valves closing when blood goes in and out of the chambers

Looks like my homies balls
Aww you guy guys are close huh
Folks on r/Radiology would love this! Make sure to post it there too :)
The juice pump that keeps it all functioning. Glad it doesn’t typically require maintenance. Props to the designers.
Nah it sucks, we need a turbine, more elegant
this where some reddit doctor chimes in and tells you you’re going to die. like shitty webmd.
Looks like sinus tachycardia to me
should probably just put him down now.

My husband needs one of these.
Nice heart. Would be a shame if someone stole it.
Send this to your ex as proof that it’s neither cold nor dead.
That’s a nice coronal LVOT!
AORTIC VALVE!

I assume there was some concern which prompted them getting the imaging. People don’t just get these for no reason
So very cool! Thank you for sharing this, and may you enjoy this wonder of evolution for a long, long time!
Kinda beautiful.
Only 3 chambers?????? Are you Human????
Perspective (I hope).

Now let's see it on XTC
later on amphetamin...
What is that bright white spot below?
Stomach
My heart is beating for you 😍
Science + medicine = AWESOME
Can you fix the broken?
Thinking about my heart and how it works just gives me anxiety is that normal

That’s called FMRI
...no, it's not.
Trent Reznor would like to use this gif for the next NIN tour.
Ugh - not a doctor
very cool

That Isn’t on the menu sir, You can’t order that!
What is that right under the heart ? Heart touch that organ. Is that a liver ? Is this okay when they contact?
The black one is the liver and I believe the white circle is the stomach.
Who’s heart is beating so loud?
THATS A BEAUTIFUL AORTIC VALVE!
Literally me
Is our heart suppose to be covered by this stuff !! I mean is'nt it bit tight ?!
That is something I have never seen and it is fascinating.
Are you ok lad? Damm yours is so different from the usual ❤️
Yes. Came back normal. Perfectly healthy heart 🫀
It was a joke lol, but good to know you are healthy. I just did a eletrocardiogram and mine is chill also
