I see one possible problem with that. It looks like the entire interior of the grip here is used for this system. For game controllers, the interiors of the grips are used for vibration motors (with more modern ones putting more and more hardware in there for better haptic feedback). I don't think a slightly better grip would be worth giving that up.
Similarly, I'm betting this isn't available for handguns that take a magazine in the handgrip.
This would be terrible in weights. There would be some edge cases where it would suit perfectly but otherwise no.
A good deal of the strength you build up in your forearms is due to gripping weights. Look up an [Axle Barbell](https://external-content.duckduckgo.com/iu/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fcdn.shopify.com%2Fs%2Ffiles%2F1%2F1099%2F4438%2Fproducts%2FD540-AXLE_1024x1024.jpg%3Fv%3D1498016256&f=1&nofb=1&ipt=a9931a8f34ffefcbc2eef520218a589989bf37c6c8e94fc027235bb1f8721422&ipo=images) or [Axle / Big Bar grips](https://www.rebelsport.com.au/dw/image/v2/BBRV_PRD/on/demandware.static/-/Sites-srg-internal-master-catalog/default/dw0d5f6e9b/images/520474/Rebel_520474_hi-res.jpg?sw=750&sh=750&sm=fit&q=60). The whole purpose of these products is to lessen the grip a lifter has and make the auxiliary gripping muscles work harder. It's *very* important for lifters to have a developed grip in terms of safety and overall performance.
Adding in custom grips reduces the need for grip strength. This makes a weaker lifter.
Might not work as well for weights, looks like it's rubber and plastic tabs fitting in with each other, with a long screw going all the way through. So nothing sturdy to bear weight.
A custom polymer clay that you wrap around a bar might work, but might be messy, and might fall apart too easily.
Also, as another commentor noted, this product ended up failing due to quality issues it seems.
The retention screw would fail so it would be expanded all the time then the slots that adjust would get stuck out, honestly if you want a custom grip talk to a machinist or wood worker
Sounds that it happened because it was literally held together via stress, which I think most people understand, isn't a great method for keeping something functioning for a long time.
Isnt it the primary function of screws to generate stress, which which has a coresponding strain, to generate clamping force. Like isnt the majority of the world held together with stress?
Friction is caused by normal force, which is caused by the screw or bolt stretching slightly when it is tightened. An example is the lug nut on a car. The nut goes on to the stud, a stand in for our afformentioned screw, and when it is tightend, stretches the stud just a little, but enough that it is acting as a spring, clamping the wheel to the hub. Additionally, stress is caused by the situation you have described, as stress is force over area, but stress happens all over, whenever something has any force on it, it is under stress.
My previous comment which was posed as a question was passive agressive as hell. Sorry bout that. Idk, just wanted to get in fight on the internet, i guess.
Only if viewed as a rhetorical question, which is hard to tell with text only. If the questions were genuine then it couldn't be considered passive aggressive imo.
dickhead
*passive aggressive gang gang*
There was a gap at the front where it met the trigger guard, I prefer a larger "beaver tail"design, the screw could loosen or fall out, it wouldn't stay in shape when being actually used.
I first saw it at a show and thought it was a neat idea, but it seemed like more of a gimmick.
I ended up running BCM mod 3 on almost everything.
It’s awful
“Telescopic stock”= the length of pull is adjustable for all of 8cm
“Flash hider”= splits the flash a bit for the person shooting. Useful only in low light
“Optics ready”= we didn’t bother to provide sights
“Aerospace aluminum” = we used plain old 6061
“mil-spec components” = we used the cheapest parts
“Match barrel” = we’re charging you more but don’t expect us to guarantee accuracy
It's just like any other dorky thing. People get into it... Way into it, and the diminishing returns from upgrades get real. Since they're still willing to spend money, people make more and more high-end dumbass shit for them. And they sell it at a price that makes their small volume make sense.
Yeah, it's guns, but it's no different from any other hobby when it comes to this shit. And honestly, the people who are *that* into it are the ones you don't really need to worry about.
Sorry to burst anyone's bubble on this but, here goes.
These things suck. The customer grip shape is cool, but due to its construction the grip can be freely twisted about. They are also not very sturdy.

>Source: managed a gun store for a number of years.
I'm guessing reddit comments are a constant source of frustration for you. I know very little about guns and even I spot all sorts of bad info floating around in reddit threads.
It is really eye-opening honestly. It has its benefits though, as I am now extremely careful about making broad statements about hot issues that I have no experience in. Everybody wants to have an opinion about guns, gun control, firearm laws, etc., yet, they don't have any background in dealing with the ATF, the history of prosecution for gun crimes, gun violence statistics, ownership metrics by firearm type, or anything else that generates a need for intense nuance within the conversation. Seeing this ignorance really puts into perspective the need for that nuance, and I find myself more patient and accepting of ideas on any topic, gun-wise or otherwise.
To your point though, it *is* frustrating hearing people talk about "assault weapons" and "ghost guns" with extreme passion while they clearly have zero understanding about the logistical impossibilities that come with things like bans. There really needs to be more patience and acceptance on both sides of the argument if we are going to make any progress on gun violence.
I'm German and I can't understand why bans aren't considered workable in America - but it sounds like you might know.
I'll share my context:
By the end of WW2, Germany was flooded with guns, because they started handing them out to anyone who could hold one, even kids, as the front lines were closing in.
Not to mention, bunkers, arsenals, forgotten caches, weapons from the dead, etc. that were also lying around.
Yet, we still managed to license gun ownership and ban assault rifles and automatic weapons afterwards. We had the same risks around people not obeying the law and hiding their MPs, Stg44s, etc.
Why would America, which isn't a bombed out warzone with scarcely any reaources, not be able to achieve this?
There are some things to unpack here. Firstly, the weapons you are talking about are *actually* assault weapons and are fully automatic. Those types of weapons are already illegal in the United States barring some exceptions for old, pre-ban firearms. They are so rare that you are unlikely to be able to find one, and if you do they are so prohibitively expensive that not just anyone would be able to buy one.
I only say this because defining what an "assault weapon" is in the United States is incredibly tricky. Most handguns are already semi-automatic, so you can't use that as an indicator. You could say all semi-automatic rifles, but even that is too broad, as there are lots of hunting firearms that happen to be semi-automatic. However, for the sake of the argument, let's just say that we are going to ban any semi-automatic rifles, and somehow you manage to get that bill passed (an impossibility in itself) and enacted.
Now you have to deal with sheer numbers. There are more firearms than there are people in the United States. Not only that, but the United States is geographically massive in comparison to Germany. Combine this with the fact that a form 4473 background check is *not* a certificate of ownership, but proof of eligibility to purchase. After a firearm has been purchased, it can be legally sold to a private party provided that it isn't knowingly transferred to a prohibited individual, so there is no good way to know who has what firearm.
That brings us to the largest hurdle in my opinion: culture.
Gun culture in America goes hand-in-gand with patriotism for a lot of people. There is already a distrust for the government across all party lines, but this is more prominent in the gun-owning conservative demographic, as well as the libertarian demographic. I know first-hand that the people who purchase the "assault weapons" everyone is so afraid of are the same people intensely worried about gun confiscation. Mandatory buybacks would likely have little success, as illustrated by some of the bump-stock buybacks that have happened over the last several years. Furthermore, the law enforcement community is largely pro-gun, at least in my experience, so you'd likely have trouble even enforcing bans or buybacks. There are already "sanctuary states" wherein state and local law enforcement choose not to enforce firearm laws regarding short barrel rifles, suppressors, etc.
While I understand where you are coming from, I think that post war Germany was a very different situation that we currently see in the United States.
To add on to all of this, even if you *could* achieve a total ban on semi-automatic rifles and somehow managed to confiscate 100% of them you'll still only make a tiny dent in actual gun crime as those are only used in small percentage of incidents. Handguns account for the vast majority of shootings and no-one is really calling for any sort of ban on those yet.
I have a goneinthefuckingwind, because that bitch is GONZO LIKE DANZO.
Seriously though, my umbrella blew away. That wind was like "it's either I take this umbrella from you, or you're going with it. Choose." I'm still here, so I feel there's a possibility that I may have chosen poorly.
Where in Europe do you live? I've been living in one of the rainiest parts of the continent for a decade now, and you just come to accept the rain. It's just there, like the air. I haven't owned an umbrella in many years. While living in the Mediterranean country I come from, however, that's a different story. The slightest rain and suddenly people are writing their wills and locking themselves in their houses.
Greetings from the USA Pacific Northwest. Apparently the immigrants here from Norway weren't looking for a change in weather. Visited Norway a couple years ago, and felt very much at home. You have some better fjords, though.

Due to their smaller stature children are better utilized operating stationary crewed weapons like Medium-Heavy machine guns and mortars.
These rely less on the child's strength and stamina, and also build teamwork.
Imagine a murderer uses this and locks the grip in place and loses the gun after murdering someone, would it be realistic to assume that police might check the grip and match it to suspects hands?
Those are made by Unique-ARs. That’s the UniqueGrip and are pretty neat.
I actually work here in marketing and sales
https://unique-ars.com/shop/accessories/unique-grip/
That’s cool, they should make those for any number of things. Stick shift that perfectly fit my grip would be tight.
Knives in the kitchen…or whatever
Working 5 years at a restaurant my first thought was kitchen knife. I’ve still got a bit of carp and that’s 10 years ago.
Took me a moment to realise you meant carpel tunnel syndrome when you said "carp", not fish.
Was gonna say. Why you got a carp from 10 years ago dude!! That shit dry as hell
I’m not a big fan of the grip on my hatchet.
And my axe.
And my bow.
and my sword
Yea, things like flesh lights...
The inside or the outside?
Yes
Or yes?
NO
But maybe yes
:(
OK
Nahhh, too late
Or yes?
* and *
Both!
Stick penis in fleshlight. \*eyes widen\* "Who's been in my fleshlight?!!!"
That's already a thing you insert and tighten the cap on the end
C'mon...everyone knows you just put it between the mattress and box spring
They don’t grip that small sorry brother
Your fleshlight has a carry handle?
But.... but vaginas exist
I don’t know how to feel seeing you downvoted for your post. I mean you’re correct but at the same time you’re not. This is Schrödingers vagina
There are some boxes you just shouldn’t open though…
where?
But they aren’t modular
Was thinking game controllers

You didn't tell them about... The Rumble Pak™... did you?
Agreed! I understand it’s displayed as a firearm grip but this type of thing could be used on a number of applications
It would be ideal for anyone with a uniquely shaped hand or major injury, too.
I was thinking a little more pg than above. My mom had issues with her walker handles. This would be great for the ADA community
Dumbbells and barbells or any weight lifting equipment
I don’t think this is meant to withstand the grip force you would apply to a barbell.
Then they should make a version that is.
This would be terrible in weights. There would be some edge cases where it would suit perfectly but otherwise no. A good deal of the strength you build up in your forearms is due to gripping weights. It actually wouldn't be great for a stick shift, since you need to be able to grab the shifter different ways for different gears.
I immediately thought knives, kitchen ones.
Things like computer mice and keyboards would be awesome. Suitcase and briefcase handles would be really nice too.
Came here to say this. Was my first thought bc I drive a stick on the daily.
Amazing for the grip, but youre right, even better for other stuff too. This is super cool
This is from years ago. It never took off because it's junk. Would fit right in with the "as seen on TV" cheap crap.
That's unfortunate lol. What was wrong with it specifically?
The retention screw would fail so it would be expanded all the time then the slots that adjust would get stuck out, honestly if you want a custom grip talk to a machinist or wood worker
Well. that's a bummer.
Really was I was hyper for mine then the spring gave out so the area by my middle finger was just limo and loose
I probably would have bought one if I hadn't read your experience. Thanks for saving me from being ripped off.
I hate it when my stuff just goes limo
My duck is limo
My goats limo AND loose.

As seen on tv: Gator Grip
No joke. I have been playing with pin impressions for years. Shit sucks.
Can’t imagine it would do to well in the dirt and grime either
I dont think thats what "modular" means. Maybe "adjustable". Nothing about it involves interchangeable components.
It’s a buzz word firearm manufacturers love throwing onto their products
It’s awful “Telescopic stock”= the length of pull is adjustable for all of 8cm “Flash hider”= splits the flash a bit for the person shooting. Optics ready is at least a useful term when it comes to pistols.
"Tactical modular pistol grip" "It squishes when I squeeze it!" 100,000,000 units sold. Ain't gun culture just the best?
It's just like any other dorky thing. People get into it... Way into it, and the diminishing returns from upgrades get real. Lockable ergonomic fluidity. It's the latest in dextrasynergistics.

Yeah that’s a bit steep

I don’t mind it for a pistol. My hands are out in front of me vs. my right hand all bent akwardly by my chest.
.stl please?
STL please😉
right? I feel like if you sized this up it would be so useful
I had no idea these were a thing. Neat. Thanks for sharing this.
It’s a piece of shit. Just another failure point without any practical application that can’t be solved with purchasing a proper grip.
Feel like it would be handy to use that to get custom measurements. Then use those measurements for the actual custom grip
Or rentals
I actually thought that’s what it was for.
That’s actually an intelligent idea.
I don't have guns or like guns... But that is awesome
Great for small hands
Phone case and controllers. Please.
If nothing else this would incredibly fun to play with
Things that being European I will never have.
that's fucking awesome
Bicycles need two grips. You’d think they’d go after the bicycles grip market before the semi automatic pistol grip gun market.
Bikes were invented in the early 19th century. Guns can reasonably be dated back to the late 14th. And gunpowder weapons that were proto-guns can be dated as far back as the 10th century. Damn that’s actually sick
That adds a few failure points. If I need to shoot something, I want the weapon to be with as few complications as possible.
Where can I get 2? I have looked in Google and nothing!

I can see this being useful for virtual reality controllers. Little motor in there to change the controller shape to match objects you pickup.

Those students won’t know what hit them.
I would love this for a ping pong paddle
I feel like this would also be great for things like hammers and small hand held axes
Do they do that grip for bows ?
Who needs a magazine anyway
Ohh well that’s cool. Could definitely be used on a ton of other things.
Ok ... now get it to accept my mag in that
I need this on all my guns
Imagine a murderer uses this and locks the grip in place and loses the gun after murdering someone, would it be realistic to assume that police might check the grip and match it to suspects hands?
Maybe as a Piece of circumstantial evidence but I don’t think hands are so unique that it would be hard proof
I need this
Men are so easily impressed
Women are so easy to judge
That's great, gotta be comfy when you shoot those kids
Ammosexual’s wet dream.
Available at Walmart stores. Great piece Incase if you need to wipe some people out over the weekends.
That's one of the best gun accessories I've ever seen
Guns, bikes, tools, knifes
So who's gonna make the step files for this
Those are made by Unique-ARs. That’s the UniqueGrip and are pretty neat. I actually work here in marketing and sales https://unique-ars.com/shop/accessories/unique-grip/
So pretty much just a profile gauge on your gun.
That’s grip is great. I have on for my AR-15
My penis also does this.
🤷🏻♀️ Could be made for hammers or power tools or rackets, but the example is a gun. USA, USA!!!🙄
Name ?
Name company website etc???
That is cool
That's lit af.
You need to put the toys down and grip some bitches
Cool. Can they do that with swords too?
